Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 2311
“Please be sure to stay safe; we can’t afford another setback.”
As he spoke, he glanced at Baili Xia.
The meaning in his words was obvious.
In truth, it was because he was worried about her.
Nangong Xu nodded, taking the medicine spoon, and entered the medical room with Baili Xia.
When Ye Zi saw them come in, she sat up from the bed again.
She had heard the conversation outside.
Knowing Baili Xia hadn’t found Mu Xiaojiu, she thought there was no hope.
Unexpectedly, Nangong Xu actually helped her get the key.
Is Baili Xia really that well-liked? So many people are willing to help her.
But, Baili Xia is really kind-hearted, maybe that’s why everyone likes her.
Even she… was a little moved by her.
Baili Xia placed the breakfast on the small table by the bed, then turned around and looked at Nangong Xu.
“Master, can you unlock her chains?”
Nangong Xu stood two meters away from the bed, looking at Ye Zi indifferently, without saying a word.
There was no expression on his face, revealing neither joy nor anger.
But the aura around him made it clear that he was still weighing something in his mind.
“Master?” Baili Xia called again.
Nangong Xu glanced at her, then spoke, “Xiaxia is willing to unlock your chains, which shows she trusts you a lot.”
“I hope you won’t betray her trust, otherwise…”
He didn’t continue, but Ye Zi could feel the threat in his words.
This man didn’t just care for Baili Xia; he would definitely go to great lengths for her.
She found it increasingly difficult to understand Baili Xia. What charm does she have that makes such an outstanding man willing to do so much for her?
Ye Zi, having undergone years of training, calmed down in an instant under such an imposing presence.
She nodded, calmly saying, “I won’t harm her, nor will I kill anyone else.”
Nangong Xu looked at her, confirming she wasn’t being deceitful, then walked over, taking the key to unlock the chains.
With the heavy chains removed, Ye Zi immediately felt much lighter.
She hadn’t really expected that they would truly release her.
“You…” She looked at Baili Xia, knowing this question was unnecessary but couldn’t help asking.
“Are you really not afraid… that I might still be a threat to you all? Do you really… want to trust me?”
“I am willing to trust you, but if you truly intend to harm others, I will be the first not to let you off.”
Baili Xia’s words weren’t exactly a threat, spoken in a gentle tone.
“The poison in your body has already been neutralized; there’s no need for you to return to that organization.”
“You can leave here, I won’t stop you, but I hope you’ll stay away from that organization and live as an ordinary girl from now on.”
Looking at Baili Xia, Ye Zi felt a sudden pang of heartache.
An ordinary girl, after years of training, with days and nights spent under inhuman torment.
Can she really become an ordinary girl?
The disappointment in her eyes flashed briefly, and half a second later, her face returned to its usual coldness.
“Thank you.”
Her thanks were directed at both Nangong Xu and Baili Xia.
Nangong Xu ignored it, having turned to walk aside.
Baili Xia smiled, taking the breakfast out of the meal box.
For Ye Zi to express gratitude to others, it at least showed her heart wasn’t entirely cold.
“Eat.”
Ye Zi nodded and began to eat, lowering her head.
After she finished her meal, Baili Xia cleared the bowls and chopsticks into the meal box.
Nangong Xu suddenly said, “I’ll give you another check-up.”
