Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 2334
The next morning, Baili Xia got out of bed early.
Perhaps because she had learned that Bei Fengjin was her biological father, she didn’t sleep well last night.
When she got out of bed, her whole body was exhausted, but she still went to the bathroom to quickly freshen up.
Since she had originally planned to leave, her luggage was already packed, saving her quite a bit of trouble now.
She carried a suitcase with clothes she needed and slowly went downstairs.
In the hall, only Mu Xiaoyao was waiting for her.
Not seeing Uncle, a strange sense of loss swept over Baili Xia’s heart.
Uncle knew she was leaving this morning, so why was he unwilling to show up now?
Perhaps her actions had deeply hurt him?
However, thinking about him now was really too repetitive.
Since they decided to part ways from now on, he would just be Uncle from now on.
Meeting again is not as good as cherishing the memories.
Baili Xia collected her thoughts and walked over to Mu Xiaoyao.
“Brother.”
She called softly and sat down on the sofa.
The servant immediately brought out breakfast and placed it on the coffee table.
Mu Xiaoyao kept looking at her, hiding the obvious sense of loss in his eyes.
He said blandly, “Uncle had some urgent business this morning, so he went out. He specifically asked me to give this to you.”
Mu Xiaoyao reached into his pocket, took out a small box, and handed it to Baili Xia.
Baili Xia was slightly taken aback and looked up at Mu Xiaoyao.
When her gaze returned to the box, her heart suddenly trembled.
This box seemed so familiar, as if she had seen it before.
She looked closely and finally confirmed that it was the same box Uncle used to hold a ring before.
But she had refused it before; why was Uncle giving it to her now, on the brink of departure?
Seeing Baili Xia motionless, Mu Xiaoyao straightened up a bit and moved the small box closer to Baili Xia.
“Take it, as a keepsake.”
Baili Xia instinctively frowned, a trace of complexity flickering in her eyes.
A keepsake, when things have come to this, what’s the point of a keepsake?
Once she decided, she needed to restart her life and not be entangled by past matters.
Thinking for a moment, she said mildly, “I don’t want it, you should return it to Uncle.”
Mu Xiaoyao’s hand stopped abruptly in mid-air, remaining there.
This girl, she could really be this resolute.
He lightly pressed his lips together and finally withdrew his hand, putting the box back into his pocket.
After watching Baili Xia finish her meal, Mu Xiaoyao stood up.
He walked straight to her side and took the large suitcase in his hand.
“Let’s go.”
Mu Xiaoyao said casually, taking big steps towards the courtyard.
Only then did Baili Xia realize he was carrying another suitcase.
“Brother, why are you carrying luggage?”
It looked like she wasn’t going out alone after all.
Could it be that Brother…
“I don’t need…”
“I have my own matters, not just accompanying you.” Mu Xiaoyao didn’t want to explain much.
Anyway, it was already a settled fact that he would go with her today.
Besides Uncle, no one could change that.
“But Brother, I only want to go by myself.”
She didn’t have much connection with the Mu family anymore. Going to the Bei Family to acknowledge her family, Uncle insisted she take the Sihai Residence helicopter, which was already her taking advantage of them.
Now, having Brother with her, how could she bear it?
Most importantly, she didn’t want to owe him or Uncle anymore.
