Guisu chatted a while longer, then stood up.

He had training tasks in the afternoon, and he only came out because he knew Baili Xia was here.

“I’m leaving. I still have to train them this afternoon.”

“If you need anything, come find me in the next room tonight.”

Baili Xia nodded, stood up as well, and walked him out.

After Guisu walked away, she finally shook her head, a trace of helplessness.

The feeling of someone entrusting their life to her was really uncomfortable.

She knew that Guisu’s feelings for her were not those between a man and a woman.

It seemed that, if given the chance, she should definitely introduce him to a girl, to divert his attention a bit.

Baili Xia returned to her room, tidied herself up, and then went out.

Brother You mentioned the Old Madam, and she had already been thinking of visiting her for a while.

The Old Madam wasn’t able to attend the wedding of Brother You and Zimo last time, as Brother You said she was afraid her body couldn’t handle the fatigue.

Thinking of this, Baili Xia felt a faint worry in her heart.

Unconsciously, she quickened her pace.

Leaving Bi Luo Pavilion, she soon arrived at the main house’s entrance.

Stepping into the courtyard of the main house, the familiar sight met her eyes again.

Every plant here was almost identical to how they were before she left last time, without much change.

The Old Madam seemed to still personally trim these flowers and plants every day, much like caring for her own children.

By the entrance of the hall, two pots of Snowfield Rosy Clouds were still placed there.

Only the Old Madam would dare to plant Snowfield Rosy Clouds; if anyone else tried, they’d probably be chopped down by the Old Madam.

The red flowers were in full bloom.

Seeing these two pots of flowers, a scene from Hongxia Mountain suddenly flashed in her mind.

Snowfield Rosy Clouds covered the mountains and plains, dyeing the whole mountain red, and she had celebrated an unforgettable birthday for Uncle on the mountain.

It turned out, in Bei Miao, there were still traces of Uncle.

The past returned to her thoughts, and a sense of melancholy arose in her heart.

“Miss Xixi, you’re here.”

Suddenly, a familiar voice sounded nearby.

Baili Xia snapped back to reality and saw Tao walking out from the west wing.

“Tao.” She greeted her.

Tao walked over with a cheerful smile, but as she got closer, her eyes suddenly widened in surprise.

Her footsteps came to an abrupt halt, staring at Baili Xia with a face full of astonishment.

“You, are you Miss Xiaxia?”

Seeing her surprised expression, Baili Xia felt even more puzzled.

Tao was so familiar with her; could she really not recognize her?

Baili Xia smiled and said, “Did I change so much that you didn’t recognize me?”

Tao looked carefully, then confirmed that the person standing in front of her was indeed Miss Xiaxia.

She hastily made a courtesy and appeared apologetic.

“I’m sorry, Miss Xiaxia, I mistook you for someone else just now.”

After saying this, she looked up at Baili Xia, her face again filled with joy.

“Miss Xiaxia, when did you arrive?”

Baili Xia wore a light smile, not caring at all that Tao had mistaken her.

Tao’s character was always straightforward, a simple girl.

The kind of master determines the kind of servant to employ; her personality was somewhat similar to that of Tang Jixin.

“I arrived at noon.”

“We’ve finally been expecting you. Madam often mentions you; when you have time, please be sure to visit her.”

Thinking of Tang Jixin, Baili Xia couldn’t help but feel some concern.

She still didn’t understand why the medicine Brother You gave her always left her in a daze.

She didn’t believe Brother You would harm his own mother, but what, after all, was the reason he did this?
