Baili Xia smiled but didn’t say anything.

She was a girl who had lived at Mu Mansion for a long time.

During that time, she really considered herself one of the people at Mu Mansion.

She could understand Bei Xier’s thoughts, as there were too many things to be involved in such a big family.

If you don’t improve your abilities, you’ll only become a burden to others.

However, these are other people’s matters, and Baili Xia doesn’t want to get too involved.

Thinking about it, she changed the subject and said, “Sir, your health hasn’t been good lately, how about I give you a few more acupuncture treatments?”

Bei Dihong raised an eyebrow; he had this thought as soon as he saw Baili Xia.

“Alright, let’s go to the study.”

With that, he stood up.

Baili Xia immediately supported him and walked to the study.

The elderly man lay down on the lounge chair, glanced at Baili Xia, and closed his eyes.

For some reason, being alone with this young girl made him feel particularly relaxed and at ease.

Silver needles constantly landed on the elderly man’s body, and Baili Xia noticed the fatigue in his eyes, so she specifically targeted acupuncture points that would benefit his sleep.

Initially resting with his eyes closed, the elderly man’s breathing gradually became smoother.

After a while, he actually fell asleep.

Baili Xia stayed by his side, quietly waiting.

Looking at the sleeping elder, her heart was filled with emotion.

She really wanted to recognize him soon so she could stay by his side and take care of him.

However, this probably won’t happen until everything is thoroughly investigated.

Time passed by the minute and second, and after about half an hour, Baili Xia stood up to remove the silver needles.

She didn’t wake the elderly man; letting him sleep well was better than medicine.

Elderly people are particularly afraid of catching a chill, so Baili Xia fetched a blanket to cover him.

Then she turned around to leave, gently closing the heavy study door behind her.

Outside the study, Baili Xia called a servant over and instructed her to take good care of the elderly gentleman.

After finishing this, she proceeded toward the west wing.

When Baili Xia arrived at the west wing, Tao was helping Tang Jixin prepare to go out.

Upon seeing her, Tang Jixin’s eyes brightened noticeably.

She said softly, “Xiaxia.”

“Madame Bei.” Baili Xia walked briskly over to her, her eyes showing a hint of apology.

“I’m sorry, I was just giving the elderly gentleman acupuncture, which took some time.”

She had originally agreed with Tao to come see Tang Jixin, but having taken so long, Baili Xia worried she might have gotten anxious waiting.

Unexpectedly, upon arriving here, she saw that Tang Jixin and Tao were actually preparing to leave.

Tang Jixin smiled and said, “It’s fine, I was just feeling cooped up in the room, ready to take a walk in the backyard.”

Knowing Baili Xia was with the elderly gentleman, she didn’t mind.

This young girl has always been quite concerned about the elder members of the family.

Baili Xia said, “Then let me accompany you on your walk.”

Seeing Tang Jixin nod, she went over and took her arm.

Tao let go naturally, fully handing the lady over to Baili Xia.

“Miss Xiaxia, I’ll leave Madame with you to take a walk.”

“I should go and brew medicine for Madame.”

Baili Xia raised her eyes unconsciously; again with the medicine.

For so long, her medicine hasn’t been interrupted.

But there’s little she can say about it, so she just nodded.

Once Tao had left, Baili Xia walked with Tang Jixin toward the backyard.

This was Baili Xia’s first time in the backyard of the main house.

Perhaps it was because the main house was occupied by elderly people who preferred peace and quiet.

The backyard was purely landscaped as a garden for them to stroll in.

Baili Xia’s mind was constantly preoccupied with thoughts.

Some crucial matters may only be learned from Tang Jixin…
