Chapter 236: Behave Don't Move 49_1

Mu Xiaoyao stepped out of Baili Xia’s room, casually closing the door behind him.

Just as he was about to return to his own room, he saw that the door of his eldest brother’s room, not far away, was suddenly pulled open.

Mu Lingchuan stepped out in haste.

He had not expected that as he lifted his gaze, he would see Mu Xiaoyao.

From his current view, it looked like Mu Xiaoyao had just stepped out of Baili Xia’s room.

Mu Lingchuan instinctively glanced at the tightly closed door of Baili Xia’s room: “She…”

“She fell asleep from exhaustion,” Mu Xiaoyao casually replied.

The words spoken without intention, yet heard with meaning.

Exhausted…

fell asleep, was she exhausted by him?

The sounds he had heard outside the door when he came earlier, were echoing in his head.

The girl was constantly screaming, begging him to be gentle, to stop…

Mu Lingchuan was jolted back to awareness, taking another look at the Mu Xiaoyao before him.

His shirt collar was wide open, his body covered in sweat, clearly appearing as if he had just finished working out.

Was there any need to guess what that implied?

This kid…

really was with Baili Xia!

“Is there something wrong?” Seeing him staring at himself, non-stop.

Mu Xiaoyao lightly furrowed his brows, disliking being scrutinized this way.

Even if it was his own eldest brother.

“There is something wrong.” Hearing him ask, Mu Lingchuan was reminded of the reason he had hurriedly exited his room.

Pushing aside all guesswork, he looked at Mu Xiaoyao, his expression somewhat gloomy.

“You brought Dongfang Ji back?

Where is he now?”

“Locked in the backyard.”

Mu Xiaoyao casually replied, he hadn’t really paid much attention to this matter.

After coming back, he had him locked in the backyard and then went to see Uncle with Baili Xia.

And after returning, seeing that the girl seemed more and more unwell, he had focused all his attention on her.

He had completely forgotten about Dongfang Ji.

“That was reckless!” Mu Lingchuan glanced at him, speaking in his capacity as the elder brother.

“Without any evidence or proof, you cannot prove that he was the one who harmed Uncle.

You brought him back recklessly, how do you intend to explain this to the Dongfang Family?”

“I never intended to explain anything.”

Mu Xiaoyao lightly hummed, “People from their side came to ask for him?”

“The old butler came.

If we don’t hand him over tonight, most likely the old man will come in person tomorrow.”

Mu Lingchuan was somewhat worried, if the person had not been brought back, that would be a different story.

Now that the person had been brought back, they definitely know that something has happened to Uncle.

Dongfang Ji is, after all, from school and has many contacts there.

Uncle left in such a hurry today and the atmosphere in the Mu family is so strange, it is bound to raise suspicion.

No matter whether it was Dongfang Ji who poisoned or not, they couldn’t let him take the message out.

At least, not until Uncle woke up.

“It’s late now.” Mu Xiaoyao took one look at Mu Lingchuan, and then turned to walk to his room.

“Dongfang Ji committed a mistake, of course he should be punished.”

“Give me a reason.” Mu Lingchuan looked at his receding back.

Up until now, they still hadn’t found out who poisoned Uncle.

No one could prove that Dongfang Ji is the one who poisoned him, so they can’t keep him locked up in Mu Mansion indefinitely.

The people of the Eight Big Families always held a spirit of love and help.

No matter how they fight secretly, at least on the surface, they can’t break the relationship lightly.

If grandfather were here, he would definitely release the person first.

“Tomorrow, when grandfather returns, I will give him a reason.”

Mu Xiaoyao casually opened his room door, “Eldest brother, it’s late, good night.”

Having said that, he casually closed the door.

Mu Lingchuan was a bit stunned.

This kid really isn’t afraid of the Dongfang Family coming to confront him!

So for tonight…

is Dongfang Ji really going to be locked up?
