Just as she was about to leave, the old man came quickly from the west side of the hall, supported by a servant.

Bei Qingyue hurriedly stopped and walked over to support him.

“Dad, why are you up as well?”

The old man wasn’t well, and they didn’t want to disturb him with such matters.

However, he still heard the commotion outside.

The old man sat down beside the Old Madam and looked at her, saying, “How is Xi’er?”

The Old Madam comforted him, “She’s fine, Yun’er has already gone to bring her back.”

She didn’t really know whether that person would let Bei Xier go, but her intuition told her nothing would happen to her.

“Dad, don’t worry, she’s already on her way back,” Bei Qingyue reassured him immediately.

The old man nodded and asked, “Have you found out who did it?”

Bei Qingyue quickly answered, “Not yet, I’m planning to go to the Bi Luo Pavilion.”

“Bi Luo Pavilion?” The old man’s eyebrows rose slightly, his gaze fell on her.

Bei Qingyue hurried to explain, “There’s no real suspect, just checking to prevent any fish slipping through the net and lingering in our Bei Family.”

She knew the old man was also fond of Baili Xia.

Going to Bi Luo Pavilion to investigate most easily brings to mind Baili Xia, an outsider.

Without evidence, she wouldn’t let the old man feel uncomfortable.

She glanced at the Old Madam, saying, “Mom, I’ll head out now.”

Once the Old Madam nodded, she bowed to both elders and then led her people out.

In the blink of an eye, only the old man, the Old Madam, and Lan were left in the hall.

A silent air of expectation filled the space, waiting for good news to arrive from outside.

Bei Qingyue and her group quickly arrived at Bi Luo Pavilion, and at midnight, the grand doors of Bi Luo Pavilion were tightly shut.

A subordinate stepped forward and knocked on the door a few times; after a while, the door opened a crack, and Fan Yi stepped out.

Seeing it was Bei Qingyue, he was slightly surprised.

“Lady Yue, what brings you here so late?”

Seeing a dozen sternly poised brothers standing behind her, he knew something serious must have happened.

“Something happened at Youyang Pavilion tonight, the Old Madam has ordered a thorough investigation of the Bei Residence.”

With that, she gestured to her subordinates.

Although she had slight apprehensions about Bei Tianyou, she had no regard for Fan Yi at all.

The dozen subordinates understood the sign and immediately pushed the door open and went inside.

“Madam, it’s too late, let me report to the young master first?”

Bei Qingyue ignored him and walked in on her own.

As she passed him, she said blandly, “You go report; I’ll have them start searching.”

She didn’t want to waste a minute now; if Baili Xia and the others were indeed causing trouble, it would be troublesome if they fled.

Bei Qingyue entered the courtyard, leading her people straight to the second floor of the hall.

She knew Baili Xia and the others lived in the guest rooms over there.

The brothers knocked on several guest room doors, but there was no response from inside.

Bei Qingyue felt tightened inside; at this hour, if they’re not in the room, it seems tonight’s event is indeed related to Baili Xia.

As she was pondering, a tall figure opened the door and came out from a room beside her.

Guisu looked at Bei Qingyue with a somber expression, his eyes emanating a chilling coldness.

Bei Qingyue couldn’t help but shiver inwardly, pausing her steps briefly.

Guisu—she still remembered what a terrifying man he was.

Back then, to protect Baili Xia, he had fled with her from Yun’er’s pursuit, not knowing how many of her subordinates he had killed.

This man would do anything for Baili Xia.
