Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 2437
Bei Fengjin slightly furrowed his brow, turning his gaze to Bei Xier’s face.
Those red spots were becoming increasingly severe; each pimple seemed to swell and about to burst.
He reached out, took Bei Xier’s wrist, and placed his fingertips on the pulse.
After a moment, he released her hand and said, “She’s been poisoned.”
After speaking, he reached into his pocket and took out a small bottle.
He poured out a pill and handed it to Bei Xier.
“Take it.”
Bei Xier took the pill without a trace of hesitation and swallowed it directly.
She couldn’t bear it any longer; if it weren’t for everyone present, she would have reached out to scratch those pimples.
Feeling the pill dissolve inside her, it immediately turned into a wave of heat, easing throughout her body.
The effect came swiftly; it seemed she could truly feel the virus being killed.
Bei Xier was somewhat surprised by the potency, quickly closed her eyes, and carefully felt it.
Baili Xia had been watching Bei Xier closely, seeing her complexion improve considerably.
Although those red spots remained, the pimples had diminished quite a bit, which brought relief.
Her gaze fell on Bei Fengjin, asking, “What kind of poison did she get?”
Bei Fengjin replied indifferently, “This is just an allergy-inducing poison, among thousands of kinds. After ingestion, the body becomes swollen and ulcerated, but it isn’t fatal.”
His gaze swept to Bei Xier and casually said, “She must have offended someone, and they’ve decided to teach her a lesson.”
Baili Xia also suspected this reason, but she couldn’t figure out who wanted to harm Bei Xier.
After about ten minutes, Bei Xier finally opened her eyes.
Baili Xia asked, “Do you feel better?”
Bei Xier nodded, “Much better, my body doesn’t itch anymore.”
“Xiaxia, this medicine is amazing.”
Bei Xier glanced at Baili Xia, then at Bei Fengjin, with a hint of shock still on her face.
“Uncle Fengjin, thank you, I’m fine now.”
The pimples on her body would scatter; this was within Bei Fengjin’s expectation, hence he didn’t seem overly surprised.
Besides, with him, it seemed difficult to ever use the word “surprised.”
Baili Xia grabbed Bei Xier’s hand, asking, “Who exactly did you offend? Who would want to harm you?”
Bei Xier gently furrowed her brow, unsure whether to tell them the matter.
Seeing she didn’t want to speak, perhaps having an unspoken reason, Baili Xia chose not to press further.
“Xi’er, if you don’t want to say, I won’t force you. Just be careful not to be easily harmed by others.”
“No, it’s just me… I’m not sure if it’s her.”
“Who?”
Bei Xier exhaled lightly and finally recounted what had happened.
“Earlier, Nangong Qingqing suddenly offered me a toast. I only had a small glass, but afterward, I started feeling bad all over.”
“Could it be something in the wine?”
Baili Xia’s eyebrow raised, so it was Nangong Qingqing.
Well, that explains it.
Seeing the changes in Baili Xia’s expression, Bei Xier knew she’d started suspecting Nangong Qingqing.
“But I’ve never offended her; what reason does she have to harm me?”
Baili Xia’s eyes brimmed with seriousness, and her tone became stern.
“In such a big family, things are not that simple.”
“You’d better be more cautious in the future.”
Some matters within the Bei Family needed Bei Xier herself to uncover.
After all, as a member of the Bei Family, to them, she was merely an outsider.
