Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 2444
“Miss Xixi, breakfast is ready. Please proceed to the side hall for your meal.”
Seeing Bei Xier coming down the stairs, Pinger greeted her with a smile.
Bei Xier nodded, didn’t say much, and turned to head towards the side hall.
“Is the Lady not here?”
The entire side hall was empty; not a trace of Bei Qingyue. She glanced up at Pinger and asked calmly.
“The Lady went out early.” Pinger replied honestly as she poured hot milk for Bei Xier.
Bei Xier picked up a small pastry and began eating gracefully.
However, just after a few bites, footsteps approached from the main hall, accompanied by Nangong Yun’s voice reprimanding the maid.
“You can’t even do a little work, completely useless. What’s the point of having you in Wangyue Pavilion?”
“Miss Yun, I’m sorry. I promise there won’t be a next time. Sorry, I really didn’t mean it…”
“What are you still doing here? Are you idling around? Hurry up and get to work!”
At Wangyue Pavilion, Nangong Yun could almost be said to rule the roost.
Although she had annoyed both Old Madam and Bei Qingyue with her mistakes several times before.
But Bei Qingyue only has this one biological daughter and indulges her greatly.
Just a few days of punishment, and Nangong Yun returned to her usual self.
When Bei Qingyue is around, perhaps she can curb her fiery temper somewhat.
But today Bei Qingyue was not here, and those maids could only suffer if they accidentally crossed her.
“Yes, Miss Yun.” The maid quickly responded and turned to leave.
Just as the words ended, in the side hall, Nangong Yun and Nangong Qingqing stepped in.
Seeing Pinger always standing cautiously by Bei Xier, Nangong Yun’s face suddenly turned grim.
“Is she the only one here who’s a master? What are you standing here for? Hurry and get my breakfast!”
“But…” Pinger wanted to say something, but was stopped by Bei Xier.
Actually, it wasn’t Pinger’s fault, after all, it’s usually other maids who serve Nangong Yun.
Pinger is Bei Xier’s personal maid, and generally only cares for her.
But such words, as servants, they dare not speak, lest they cause trouble for themselves.
“Yes, Miss Yun.” Pinger pursed her lips and finally turned into the kitchen.
Watching her figure walk away, Nangong Yun snorted heavily, “No sense of hierarchy, she doesn’t even see who’s the true master here.”
It’s obvious that this remark wasn’t aimed at Pinger, but at Bei Xier.
But Bei Xier seemed not to hear, continuing to eat without looking up.
Today, Nangong Yun was unlike her usual self, usually she’s not this fiery.
Perhaps something was bothering her, making her unusually irritable.
But Bei Xier didn’t care, the two had little interaction day-to-day, and she didn’t wish to concern herself with Nangong Yun’s affairs.
Nangong Yun snorted again, then sat opposite Bei Xier. She glared at her, still unsatisfied.
“Qingqing, there’s an old saying, I wonder if you’ve heard it, people say servants resemble their masters. What kind of master, what kind of maid.”
Nangong Qingqing only sat down on the chair beside her, lowered her head, not daring to speak.
Bei Xier raised her eyes slightly, her gentle gaze falling on Nangong Yun.
She said softly, “You’re right, sister. I will make sure to educate Pinger properly, don’t worry.”
