Mu Xiaoyao’s eyes narrowed slightly, a hint of danger flowing through.

“Call for help? Go ahead and try it.”

He lifted Bei Xier’s large hand, directly raising it above her head.

His body leaned forward, pressing her back against the wall, his whole body against the wall.

Bei Xier’s heart skipped a beat; being pinned against the wall in public like this, even though she knew he was threatening her, it was embarrassing to be seen by passersby.

She could clearly feel Mu Xiaoyao’s breath, evidently filled with anger, teasing her ear.

Bei Xier gasped, immediately raising her other hand to cover her mouth.

Her large, crystal-like purple grape eyes rounded, meeting Mu Xiaoyao’s ink-black eyes so close, she whispered, “Don’t, I won’t call.”

Mu Xiaoyao maintained this posture, motionless.

It seemed this woman was more afraid of him doing this.

“Tell me, where did Xiaxia go?”

“I really don’t know.”

Mu Xiaoyao lost patience, not knowing when someone might come by here.

His gaze darkened, grabbing Bei Xier’s hand, quickly walking out.

“Where are you taking me? I want to go home.”

But Mu Xiaoyao ignored her, forcefully pulling her forward…

…

In the Bei Family main house, the phone in the hall started ringing.

The maid busy in the hall put down her broom and promptly answered the phone.

“Hello, who are you looking for?” The call was picked up, and the maid habitually asked with respect.

“This is Bei Zicheng, hurry, hurry let the Old Madam take the call.”

A slightly anxious voice suddenly came across from the other end of the line.

The maid was slightly startled by the sound, turning towards the Old Madam sitting on the sofa.

“Old Madam, it’s Mr. Zicheng’s call, he needs to speak with you.”

The Old Madam raised her eyes; she knew Bei Zicheng had gone out with Xi’er today.

What was he calling for at this moment?

Inexplicably, a trace of panic flashed through her heart.

She glanced at Lan, who understood and walked over to bring the phone.

The Old Madam took the phone and asked in a deep voice, “Zicheng, what’s the matter?”

“Grandma, when I was out shopping with Xi’er just now, we were suddenly attacked in a restaurant, and Xi’er was taken by those people.”

“What did you say?”

The Old Madam’s fingers suddenly tightened around the phone, her body sitting upright, her volume instinctively louder.

Xi’er was actually taken away, who would do such a thing?

She was merely an adopted daughter of the Bei Family; what purpose could others have for doing this to her?

“Do you know who did it? Did you see where they went?”

The Old Madam was truly anxious now; it’s been only a few days, and this girl had been kidnapped the second time.

On the other end, Bei Zicheng took several deep breaths, slightly adjusting his breath.

The more anxious the Old Madam was, the deeper his resentment towards her grew.

Faced with such a situation, she didn’t even ask him if he was injured.

But the words couldn’t go unsaid, so he continued, “I don’t know who those people were; I resisted desperately and barely managed to escape.”

“But when I got out, I saw Xi’er being taken away by a man.”

The Old Madam anxiously said, “Why didn’t you chase them? Why didn’t you rescue Xi’er?”

Hearing that Bei Zicheng had watched helplessly as Bei Xier was taken away, an inexplicable rage rose in her heart.

“I, my leg was injured, I couldn’t catch up.”

The Old Madam clutched the phone in silence.

Without any leads, how could she proceed?
