Bei Qingyue’s gaze darkened; she knew she had gone a bit too far with her words earlier.

Understanding how much influence Baili Xia has over Bei Fengjin, her jealousy had made her forget her usual demeanor.

With a composed expression, she spoke, “Let’s say this incident isn’t related to her for now, but the surveillance we saw is real.

“Xi’er was indeed forcibly taken by Mu Xiaoyao. Regardless of the reason, we must take action.”

Bei Tianyou’s eyes darkened and he said in a deep voice, “What action do you want to take?”

Bei Qingyue glanced at him, her gaze falling on the Old Madam.

“Mom, the most urgent task is to locate their whereabouts first.”

“Whether it’s Baili Xia or Mu Xiaoyao, catching one of them would be highly beneficial for rescuing Xi’er.”

Although Bei Xier was her adopted daughter, it was done by the Old Madam’s instruction, and she didn’t have much affection for her.

Bei Xier resembled Bei Qingyou, and she even felt that the Old Madam kept Xi’er with the Bei Family solely because of this resemblance.

Sometimes she couldn’t understand what the Old Madam was thinking; despite Bei Qingyou being a taboo subject, she insisted on bringing back a girl who looked like her and making her her adopted daughter.

Nevertheless, although many things are still unclear, one thing is certain.

It is that Bei Xier holds an extraordinary significance for the Old Madam.

Bei Qingyue had realized this early on.

Thus Bei Xier had always shared the same status as Nangong Yun in her Wangyue Pavilion.

She favors Bei Xier, treating her with courtesy, just because of the Old Madam’s attitude.

The Old Madam kept a stern expression, remaining silent.

She was very fond of Xiaxia, after all.

Even considering Xiaxia was You’s fiancée, she wouldn’t want to resort to using force to bring her back unless absolutely necessary.

But Xi’er was even more important to her.

The Old Madam exhaled deeply, her gaze finally shifting from Bei Tianyou to Bei Qingyue.

“Qingyue, send everyone out.”

Her voice carried a hint of coldness as she finally made up her mind.

“Alright.”

Bei Qingyue nodded and quickly arranged for it.

The Old Madam paused, then added, “Contact the Mu family in Jin City and find out what’s going on.”

Bei Tianyou’s gaze darkened even further; he hadn’t anticipated the situation evolving to this point.

He had already investigated that when Bei Xier got into trouble, Nangong Yun hadn’t sent anyone out.

Aside from him, who else was involved in this scheme against that girl?

While contemplating, his phone suddenly rang.

Bei Tianyou took out his phone and looked at it, a strange number caught his eye, raising an eyebrow.

He glanced at the Old Madam and Bei Qingyue and then pressed the answer button on his phone.

Putting the phone to his ear, he didn’t say anything.

A crisp voice came from the other end of the line, “Brother You, it’s Xiaxia.”

Bei Tianyou raised an eyebrow, looking towards Bei Qingyue, relieved that she wasn’t paying attention to him.

He simply responded with a faint “Hmm,” without saying much.

On the other end, Baili Xia seemed to sense the awkward atmosphere, mindful that Brother You wasn’t convenient to talk now.

She said, “Brother You, listen, I didn’t abduct Bei Xier, and I don’t know who did.”

Bei Tianyou wanted to tell her that Mu Xiaoyao had taken Bei Xier, but he couldn’t say it in front of the Old Madam and Bei Qingyue.

Baili Xia continued, “Wu Ming and I are currently on the mountain road back to the Bei Family, and we were just attacked.”

“Can we still return to the Bei Family now?”
