Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 2490
Nangong Yun had no time to bother with any of that. The top priority right now was to find Mu Xiaoyao and Baili Xia and the others.
Finally, at the fifth hotel they searched, she saw the name Bei Xier on the guest register.
People could share the same name, but judging from that address, it was impossible there’d be a second Bei Xier also living at the Half-mountain Bei Mansion.
Nangong Yun immediately made a hand gesture to the people behind her, telling them not to make a sound.
She quietly instructed one of her men to summon everyone else over.
After that was done, she looked at the landlady and said coldly, “This person, who did she check in with?”
The landlady stared at the dozen or so burly men in front of her, still scared out of her wits.
She still couldn’t figure out what these fierce-looking people had come to do at her little hotel.
The first time they asked, she didn’t hear clearly.
Nangong Yun’s gaze chilled. She reached out, grabbed the woman by the collar, and yanked her over.
“I’m asking you, who did this woman come here with?”
The landlady was trembling all over, her legs shaking violently.
“I, I…”
Maybe she’d been scared too badly, because her mind suddenly short-circuited.
Then her eyes rolled back, and she fainted.
Nangong Yun was furious, but there was nothing she could do. She flung the landlady aside and tossed her to the floor.
“You guard the outside, seal off every exit. Do not let them get away.”
“Yes.”
In no time, dozens of brothers had all gathered outside the small hotel.
Their formation completely terrified the hotel’s guests.
They wanted to leave, but looking at those ferocious faces, who would dare go out?
Nangong Yun called over a dozen men to follow her as she crept up toward the third floor.
…
Mu Xiaoyao lowered his gaze to the expanse of snowy white beneath him, his eyes darkening.
He hadn’t expected that suddenly facing such a scene would actually stir a slight ripple in his heart.
His dark eyes shifted slightly, doing his best not to look at that alluring sight.
Bei Xier was already scared out of her mind. Her hot tears completely escaped her control, spilling down and soaking the bedding.
“I’m begging you, please don’t throw me out like this.”
Since Mu Xiaoyao dared to take off her clothes, she had no doubt he’d also toss her out there like this.
If he really did that, how would she ever face anyone again?
Mu Xiaoyao swallowed slightly, as if a trace of dryness were stuck in his throat.
He steadied himself and said hoarsely, “Are you going to talk or not? I’ll give you one more chance.”
Suddenly, he frowned, a hint of alertness flashing through his eyes.
Bei Xier had no way of guessing what he was thinking. When she saw his expression change, she thought he was about to make a move and immediately started struggling.
She cried, “No, don’t, don’t…”
But before she could finish, Mu Xiaoyao’s big hand clamped over her mouth.
Bei Xier’s beautiful eyes went wide. Looking at Mu Xiaoyao’s slightly knitted sword-like brows, she finally realized he must have heard something.
Outside, it was very quiet, not a sound to be heard.
Yet it was precisely this kind of quiet that told Mu Xiaoyao something was absolutely off.
He released the hand pinning Bei Xier down and lifted his index finger to his lips, shushing softly.
Bei Xier’s hands were freed. She quickly grabbed her shirt, yanking it up to her chest to cover herself.
Mu Xiaoyao raised a brow and shushed her again, signaling her not to make a sound.
Bei Xier nodded quickly. This man was far too terrifying—if she defied him even a little, he’d definitely torment her miserably.
Seeing her nod, Mu Xiaoyao finally lifted the big hand covering her mouth, then stood up and walked over to the window.
He parted the curtain a crack and looked outside.
