Mu Xiaoyao frowned and looked at Nangong Yun indifferently.

“She’s in my hands. You don’t care if she lives or dies anymore?”

Nangong Yun glanced at him coolly, then looked around, but didn’t see Baili Xia.

She asked, “Where’s that bitch Baili Xia? Where is she hiding?”

Mu Xiaoyao’s eyes flickered, a trace of coldness flashing through his gaze.

But what she said actually made him relax a little inside.

Looked like that girl hadn’t fallen into their hands, at least for the moment she was still safe.

Seeing Mu Xiaoyao not respond, Nangong Yun lost her patience.

Even though he was also a pretty boy of the Mu family, she had zero interest in him.

What she did have was a bellyful of resentment toward Mu Xiaoyao for always siding with Baili Xia.

As long as she caught him, she wouldn’t have to worry about Baili Xia not showing up.

“Mu Xiaoyao, you and Mr. Xiaojiu could be considered old acquaintances of mine.”

“If you let Xi’er go, I can, for Mr. Xiaojiu’s sake, plead for you.”

Mu Xiaoyao’s gaze turned icy, his cold, cutting eyes locking on Nangong Yun.

“I heard you tried to seduce my uncle into bed and got kicked off the bed by him.”

“That counts as being old acquaintances?”

The chill in those eyes made one’s blood run cold.

But the sharpness of his words cut into Nangong Yun’s heart like one blade after another.

This was the wound she least wanted mentioned, yet Mu Xiaoyao had dragged it out today in front of all these subordinates.

From now on, how were these subordinates supposed to look at her?

She snapped, “Mu Xiaoyao, what kind of bullshit are you spouting?”

“Since you refuse the toast and insist on the forfeit, don’t blame me for forgetting our past ties.”

Nangong Yun shot a look at the brothers behind her and said viciously, “Go, take him down for me.”

Mu Xiaoyao raised his hand, his fingers pressing against Bei Xier’s neck.

The subordinates who had been about to rush forward suddenly froze in their tracks.

After all, MissXixi was in Mu Xiaoyao’s hands—if anything happened to her, how would they face the Old Madam afterward?

“Miss Yun, this… MissXixi is still in his hands…”

MissXixi was still in Mu Xiaoyao’s grip; if they really started fighting, wouldn’t that mean…

Nangong Yun was already furious out of shame. “Have you forgotten what the Old Madam ordered you? The most important task today is to bring Baili Xia and Mu Xiaoyao back.”

Seeing that not a single one of them moved, Nangong Yun was livid.

Although these subordinates belonged to Bei Qingyue, they had followed her for a long time, yet at this critical moment they actually disobeyed her orders.

The subordinates stood there, you look at me, I look at you, still unable to decide whether they should make a move.

Seeing that this kind of command wasn’t working on them, Nangong Yun hurriedly changed her approach.

“Look at Xi’er, her clothes have already been torn open by him.”

“He was definitely trying to do something to Xi’er in that room just now. If you let him leave with her, aren’t you basically throwing her into the fire?”

Hearing this, those brothers’ eyes immediately flickered.

If they just watched Mu Xiaoyao walk off with Bei Xier, they’d be anxious as hell too.

Mu Xiaoyao had been standing in the middle the whole time, just watching them calmly without speaking.

But as he listened to Nangong Yun’s twisted narrative, those handsome sword-like brows knit together slightly.

Nangong Yun’s attitude toward Bei Xier was anything but normal.

Knowing exactly what those subordinates were worried about, Nangong Yun softened her tone and added in what sounded like a reminder.

“Try your best not to hurt Xi’er, but under no circumstances can you let Mu Xiaoyao get away.”

Among those subordinates, there was another leader who seemed to have a better relationship with Nangong Yun.

Only then did he nod and call out to the brothers, “We absolutely can’t let him leave today. Brothers, come with me!”

With that, he took the lead and charged forward, iron rod in hand.
