Perhaps the resistance encountered inside the cave was too shocking, so the people outside didn’t come back in.

Baili Xia exhaled heavily, at least she now had some time to catch her breath.

She has held out until now, maybe if she keeps holding on a bit longer, Brother You’s people will come.

In her heart, she always held onto this hope.

As long as there is hope, there is motivation to keep going.

Time passed second by second, and there was no movement from outside the cave.

Baili Xia knew that those people couldn’t just leave.

After who knows how long, maybe more than ten minutes, finally, they acted again.

Baili Xia’s heart tightened, and the dagger held firmly in her hand lifted instantly.

However, those people didn’t come in immediately but seemed to be pacing back and forth at the cave entrance, preparing something.

She lowered her gaze to look at Wu Ming, who was leaning on the stone wall, with his eyes closed, resting.

The movements he made just now probably caused the previously bandaged wounds to burst open again.

He saved her once again at a critical moment, even though he was seriously injured, all he thought about was protecting her.

Baili Xia was deeply touched, long ago, she never hoped for someone like this to appear in her life.

But now, she has encountered several of them.

Uncle, Brother, Guisu, and Wu Ming…

Baili Xia really wanted to re-bandage his wound, but the current situation didn’t allow time, the enemy could come in at any moment.

Baili Xia silently thought: Wu Ming, if we can get out, I will definitely take good care of you.

I will definitely learn skills from you and protect you in the future.

Just as she was staring at Wu Ming’s face, lost in thought, suddenly his eyes opened slowly.

Their gaze met Baili Xia’s, and she quickly turned her head.

She reached out to lightly wipe her face, removing the two unconscious tears that had fallen.

Wu Ming raised his large hand, supporting the stone wall, trying to get up.

“Wu Ming.” Baili Xia called softly, quickly stepping to his side.

“Your wound is bleeding again, don’t move around.”

Though Baili Xia didn’t have much confidence in herself, she truly didn’t want Wu Ming to take more risks.

Wu Ming’s lips curled slightly, his eyes flickering with a trace of light.

Looking at Baili Xia, he said, “Don’t worry, resting for a while has made it better.”

Wu Ming took a breath, one hand on the stone wall, the other pulling Baili Xia’s hand.

With some force, he really stood up.

His dark eyes scanned towards the cave entrance, now even the shadows of people couldn’t be seen.

“What are they doing?”

Baili Xia shook her head, “I don’t know, maybe they’re preparing something again.”

“I guess they’ll send people in soon.”

Wu Ming nodded, they must be apprehensive about the situation inside the cave.

They sent so many people in, yet all were injured or dead.

They probably think there’s someone formidable inside, unable to grasp the situation, they dare not rush in again.

Wu Ming composed himself, his gaze fell on Baili Xia’s arm.

There was a cut there, not very deep, but it bled quite a bit.

Looking at that wound, he felt a tinge of heartache.

“I’m sorry, little girl, I didn’t protect you well.”

Baili Xia quickly shook her head, saying, “No, you’ve protected me very well.”

She was truly grateful for everything Wu Ming had done for her, without him, would she still be alive?

She wouldn’t be able to escape those people’s clutches.

“It’s all my fault, I’m the one who implicated you.”

Someone as tough as Wu Ming, if not for her, wouldn’t have fallen to this state.
