The Old Madam pulled Bei Xier over and directly had her sit beside her.

“Child, you’ve suffered so much.”

Looking at Bei Xier, her eyes unexpectedly became wet.

Perhaps realizing her own loss of composure, she quickly turned her head, gently wiping away the tears.

The Old Madam had never been like this with any of the other juniors, which surprised Bei Kuangri, “Mom, what’s wrong?”

“Xi’er is already back, is there really a need for this?”

Even the Old Master found it strange, but he had only heard about this matter after Bei Xier returned, so he was not too affected.

Baili Xia felt inexplicably excited upon seeing Bei Fengjin enter.

Her father must have been terribly worried, but he couldn’t just go out and look for her.

Hence, he came here to see her.

She nodded at Bei Fengjin and then followed Bei Tianyou to sit aside.

Bei Qingyue wore a smile on her face, and asked, “Feng Jin, I didn’t expect even you to come. Are you concerned about these juniors?”

She knew full well why Bei Fengjin was here, but she was a bit annoyed.

He cared far too much for Baili Xia.

Knowing Baili Xia’s blood was particularly pure, she had once wondered if there was a connection between her and Bei Qingyou.

Bei Fengjin took a particular interest because of this relationship, but she soon dismissed the thought.

Because Bei Qingyou had no children at all.

Bei Fengjin glanced at her indifferently and replied casually, “With a problem among Bei Family’s children, of course I should come and have a look.”

His words were light, but Baili Xia’s heart jolted sharply.

Only she could understand the meaning behind his words.

Bei Qingyue smiled and said nothing more.

She glanced at the Old Madam and said, “Mom, since Xi’er is back, let her tell us what exactly happened over the past two days.”

“That way, we can avoid guessing and prevent any further unpleasantness.”

The Old Madam gently nodded and released Bei Xier’s hand.

Yesterday, she had someone contact the Mu family, but Mu Lingchuan replied that Mr. Xiaojiu was not in Jin City at all.

He also said that Mu family members could not have done such a thing.

He particularly emphasized ensuring Mu Xiaoyao’s safety, otherwise the Mu family would certainly hold them accountable.

Although the Bei family is very powerful, Mu Xiaojiu is definitely not someone they want to provoke.

“Xi’er, what exactly happened?”

Bei Xier composed herself and slowly recounted the events of yesterday.

Starting from Cousin Zicheng inviting her to go shopping, but those seemed not to be strange at all.

Until she spoke about the incidents in the restaurant.

“In the restaurant, I suddenly fainted. When I awoke, Cousin Zicheng was nowhere to be found.”

“I saw three staff members fallen on the ground, and there were a few knives beside them.”

“Later, when I left the restaurant, I ran into Mr. Mu Xiaoyao.”

The Old Madam’s brow furrowed tightly, Xier’s account differed greatly from what Bei Zicheng had said yesterday.

Yesterday, Bei Zicheng said that he fought desperately with those people and escaped, and he witnessed Bei Xier being taken away upon exiting.

According to Xier’s account, Bei Zicheng was never in the restaurant.

“You say, when you awoke you did not see Zicheng?”

Bei Xier replied, “I’m certain, I didn’t see Cousin Zicheng.”

The Old Madam’s heart tremored sharply, and she exchanged a look with Bei Qingyue.

If what Xi’er says is true, then Bei Zicheng lied yesterday.

Why would Bei Zicheng lie? Does he truly have some ulterior motive?
