Be Gentle, My Master

Chapter 323: Once He Adored Her As His Life 06_1

Finally, Baili Xia spoke a few words indifferently to Ning Anran on the other end of the phone.

“I…

I’m having lunch with a friend…

Yes, an old friend, no worries, I’ll be back after the meal…”

The hot water bottle that Dongfang Jin had someone buy was also delivered.

He tossed the hot water bag to her, then Dongfang Jin ordered the car to be driven right away.

The car pulled out of the school and slowly headed towards the main road.

All the way, Baili Xia was particularly quiet.

She didn’t know where he was taking her, nor why she was going with him.

She had never even imagined that she could sit with him like this again one day.

Even though the car was big and both of them sat on opposite sides, not close to each other.

Nonetheless, they were still sitting together.

Dongfang Jin sent a message to someone, then put down his phone.

He hesitated for a moment, then opened his laptop and started working.

Baili Xia really wanted to take a good look at him.

They had been separated for a year, how has he been?

But she didn’t have the courage.

After that incident, he’d developed a strong dislike for her getting close.

Every time she tried to approach, he would instantly tense up, his body radiating coldness, and harshly chased her away.

Even if she wanted to look at him a little more, he would angrily turn around and leave.

Or, he would have someone chase her away, not allowing her to appear in his sight.

Jin’s aversion to her was reaching its limit.

Today he sat with her probably only because she had saved Dongfang Ji.

But does he still insist that this is another act of mine to entangle him?

Soon, they arrived at their destination.

A Chinese restaurant, not too big nor too small, with no fancy decorations.

But it was serene and clean.

This was the kind of atmosphere Jin enjoyed – not too many people, not too much noise.

As they got out of the car, Dongfang Jin’s gaze instinctively drifted towards Baili Xia.

Seeing that her complexion had eased, he coldly retracted his gaze and headed towards the entrance of the restaurant.

Baili Xia followed him, looking at his tall figure the entire time.

In the past year, his leg had improved beyond his earlier state.

At least now, he could walk like a normal person.

Carrying her earlier didn’t seem to tire him…

A moment of distraction and she almost bumped into the glass door of the restaurant.

Dongfang Jin turned around just in time to see her looking at him in a daze and nearly hitting the door.

He frowned, a stronger disdain apparent in his eyes.

“Don’t think that I’ll pity you if you keep staging these accidents.

Don’t you think that it’s revolting?”

Baili Xia exhaled faintly, deciding not to argue with him.

As sweet as he was to her back then, is as bitter as he is today.

The days he pampered and protected her are unforgettable.

Today is their last lunch together.

Even if it’s heart-wrenching, everything should end after this meal.

His engagement ceremony with Lu Xuening might be held soon.

Everything is already set in stone.

Both of them sat down in the corner by the window.

Dongfang Jin didn’t order, and the waiter didn’t come over either.

The atmosphere started to become strange again.

He just sat quietly, looking out the window, not sure if he was looking at the scenery or the bustling traffic below.

He was definitely not looking at her.

Baili Xia also didn’t know what to do, she didn’t want to look at him, but she couldn’t resist.

One look and her thoughts would be trapped in a whirlpool of memories from long ago.

Looking at his face, slowly, she even forgot where she was.

A year’s time had made him even more mature and attractive.

His captivating appearance must mean he’s had a good year, right?

The feelings between him and his sister…

are good, right?
