Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 415: Just Want to Rely on You 04_1
With the sound of a “hiss”, the scrape of the spiky end of the silver chain lock against flesh echoed eerily in her ears.
But, miraculously, she didn’t experience any pain.
Gently opening her eyes, she noticed a tall figure darting out from behind her.
In the blink of an eye, that figure had already launched a powerful punch toward Guisu’s face.
The speed was indescribable, the punch, unimaginably fierce.
Even Guisu, a skilled opponent, felt an eerie threat to his life as that punch approached.
With a swift movement of his feet, he retreated, narrowly avoiding the punch that brushed past his cheek.
Suddenly, his entire face swelled up.
However, he didn’t even furrow his brows and promptly threw back his own punch, engaging in the fight.
The two started battling at a speed barely visible to the observers.
My brother…
Baili Xia breathed a sigh of relief.
Seeing her brother had calmed her down.
She didn’t even realize she had been picked up and was now cradled gently in someone’s arms.
“Uncle…” She looked up and met his eyes.
Then she glanced at his arm; a bloody gash had been sliced into his clothing, with fresh blood still seeping out.
She jumped in shock, realizing the person who had intervened and blocked the silver chain from striking her was her uncle.
“You’re hurt.” She tried to lift his sleeve to take a look.
Mu Xiaojiu just pulled her closer to his side, his gaze fixed on the fierce fight between Guisu and Mu Xiaoyao, completely ignoring his own injured arm.
Though his arm was still bleeding, his face showed no signs of pain.
His brow didn’t even furrow.
It was as if he hadn’t been injured at all.
Although Baili Xia wanted nothing more than to dress his wound, she knew he would decline.
Uncle was always like this – acting like a protective wall in front of her during times of trouble.
Being by his side now, she felt completely safe.
Uncle…
sometimes he could be so mean, but most of the time, having him by her side was…pretty great.
She couldn’t resist reaching out and gently hugging his waist.
Her face buried in his chest, the panic of the moment now replaced with a strange sadness.
Mu Xiaojiu tightened the arm that was around her slightly.
Though he wasn’t looking at her or saying anything, his action silently told her: with him, there was nothing to fear.
Had the young girl been frightened earlier?
In truth, when he had seen Guisu attack her with that silver chain, he had been pretty scared himself.
In his entire life, he had never felt this kind of deep-seated anxiety.
The chain seemed aimed not at her, but directly at him.
No, even if the chain was really directed at him, he wouldn’t mind it at all.
But when it was aimed at her, he was unreasonably anxious to the point that he found it difficult to breathe.
He didn’t know why he felt such fear when he saw her in danger.
But now, with her safe and unscathed in his arms, he felt as if he had been given a new lease on life.
In his line of sight, Mu Xiaoyao and Guisu were still entangled in battle.
Though Mu Xiaoyao seemed to have the upper hand, Guisu was by no means someone to be underestimated.
A person who could challenge Dongfang Ji within a single move must possess extraordinary skills.
And as the second young lord of the Dongfang family, Dongfang Ji was no weakling either.
Therefore, this fight was likely to continue for a while longer.
Mu Xiaojiu’s gaze met Dongfang Qing’s.
In terms of generation, the two were at the same level.
Although Dongfang Qing was old enough to be Mu Xiaojiu’s father, generation-wise they were on par.
So, when Mu Xiaojiu looked at him, he didn’t feel the need to greet him like a junior.
Especially since the woman he loved was being bullied in his presence.
Did they expect him to greet these people warmly?
Likely?
