Be Gentle, My Master

Chapter 528: If I owe you I have to repay_1

There were two people who were quickly ruled out as the ones who might have politely knocked on the door.

Neither Uncle nor Brother would have been so courteous, unless Uncle had invited Ye Hua to come and visit her, as he had done last time.

The person standing outside the door when it opened was Mu Lingchuan.

He glanced at Baili Xia’s damp long hair and withdrew his gaze: “Is it convenient?

I need to say a few words.”

Baili Xia nodded and stepped aside from the door.

Mu Lingchuan walked in without closing the door.

Sitting on the small sofa, he looked up at Baili Xia, who was standing to one side drying her hair.

“Is everything sorted from this morning, Xiaoyao?

Do you need my help?”

Baili Xia was taken aback for a moment, then turned to look at him.

Since when had Brother been so kind-hearted as to be willing to come and ask if she required his help?

“I owe you one, so I’d naturally want to be able to do something to make up for it.

Otherwise, I’d always feel as if I owe something to someone, which would make me feel uncomfortable.”

Mu Lingchuan leaned back on the sofa, crossed his legs, and watched her indifferently.

He dislikes owing others, so settling the debt was the best option.

“When did you ever owe me?”

Baili Xia, on the other hand, didn’t quite understand, fluttering her eyes innocently.

“Last time,” Mu Lingchuan brushed off the fringe on his forehead and appeared somewhat uneasy.

“During training last time, when we climbed down from the cliff’s edge, I accidentally knocked you flying.”

“It wasn’t your fault.” So that was what was bothering him.

He had been thinking about it for so long.

Speaking of which, Brother wasn’t so bad after all.

In the beginning, he had treated her poorly, and like Brother, he thought that she was trying to seduce them for her self-interest.

Now, after spending some time together, he should have realized that she had no such motives.

Therefore, he was neither cold nor hot towards her, which was a relief compared to his earlier attitude.

As for owing someone, like now, he would try all manner of ways to repay the debt.

Such a person was after all upright.

She smiled and dismissed his comment: “It wasn’t your fault, you don’t owe me anything.”

“I owe you for that.

If it wasn’t for me, you wouldn’t have been so scared.”

“Didn’t Uncle end up saving me in the end?”

Whenever she thought of the word “Uncle,” her heart ached as if something had clenched it.

But she didn’t let it bother her.

She laughed it off, not considering it a big deal.

She sat at the desk, opened her books, and without turning her head, said, “Brother, I’m going to read now.”

Mu Lingchuan stood up, understanding that she was driving him out.

However, since he had come here today to repay the favor, how could he leave so easily?

“Are you absolutely sure there isn’t anything you need my help with?

I remember you asking me once before about whether there was a shortage of actors in my company.”

Baili Xia paused slightly before turning to look at him: “Are you offering me a role?”

“For some minor roles, there are vacancies.

If you’re interested.”

“But the chances of you becoming the female lead are slim, as my company doesn’t take backdoors.”

“I never had any intention of becoming the female lead.” She got up excitedly.

Raising her head to meet his gaze, happiness filled her eyes.

“Are you really going to hire me?

Brother, I’m okay with minor roles, even extras!

I can handle hard work and can withstand pressure.”

Mu Lingchuan surveyed her.

Her small frame was so delicate that it didn’t seem to be capable of carrying much pressure.

“Don’t look at me like that, I’m not as fragile as you think.”
