Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 69: Uncle Don't!
Mu Lingchuan arrived at the Mu Group earlier than them, but by the time Ye Hua dropped Baili Xia off, he was already engrossed in work.
In Ye Hua’s presence, Mu Lingchuan was polite to Baili Xia.
The moment Ye Hua left, the smile on his lips faded.
He returned to his desk to work, leaving Baili Xia standing on the sidelines without acknowledging her.
Baili Xia broke the silence about half a minute later, unable to help herself and asked, “What should I do?”
“What to do, aren’t you very clear on that?”
Mu Lingchuan leaned back in his chair, casting her a sideways glance, “Your skills at pleasing men are quite impressive?
Even Uncle is willing to be close to you.”
Baili Xia was prepared for his sarcasm and didn’t get angry at all.
She’d rather be ridiculed by Mu Lingchuan than stay by Uncle’s side.
Uncle is a beast, he’s simply a monster.
He genuinely bullied her, unlike Mu Lingchuan, who at most just showed her a little attitude.
“If Big Brother doesn’t have anything for me to do, then I’ll check with the assistant.”
She turned around to leave.
Mu Lingchuan’s gaze narrowed slightly as he watched her back, wondering why she wasn’t seizing the opportunity to bewitch him.
Didn’t she come to this family for gains?
If she’s not planning to work on him, is she attracted to Xiaoyao?
“Who said I have nothing for you to do?” As Baili Xia’s hand touched the doorknob, he suddenly spoke up.
Baili Xia paused in her steps, turning to look at him, “What does Big Brother need?”
“Come over.” He lazily leaned back in his chair, his eyes focused on her face.
Instinctively, Baili Xia rejected those two words.
So she didn’t go over.
Instead, she took a half step back, leaning directly against the door.
Mu Lingchuan frowned as he noticed a trace of defensive caution in her eyes.
She was being wary of him?
This girl, who was hell-bent on entering the Mu family and coveting its wealth, was wary of him?
Wasn’t this the biggest joke in the world?
Or was he just seeing things?
In the end, Baili Xia still went over.
He wasn’t Mu Xiaojiu, she thought, probably the only one in the whole world who would bully her for no reason was that bastard Mu Xiaojiu.
Of course, Mu Lingchuan wouldn’t treat her like Mr.
Xiaojiu did.
Calling her over was just to assign her work.
Mu Lingchuan’s office was on the twelfth floor of the Mu Group building.
Although part of the Mu Group, it could be considered an independent branch.
Feixue Media was born in Mu Lingchuan’s hands and also grew under his leadership into one of the three major media outlets in Jin City.
Just like the old man said, every child of the Mu family had to be a business tycoon.
Elder son Mu Lingchuan had Feixue Media, while Mu Ziqing was one of his top executives.
Though younger son Mu Xiaoyao was still a student, he was already the general manager of the technology company under the Mu Group because of his young age.
Although they had the support of the Mu Group behind them, the Mu Group only provided initial capital.
The later developments were all up to their abilities.
Baili Xia spent the entire morning working in Mu Lingchuan’s office.
It was all just verifying data tables, fortunately, Mu Lingchuan did not give her a hard time.
They were supposed to visit a drama set in the afternoon.
Initially, Mu Lingchuan didn’t plan to bring her along, but he suddenly changed his mind.
After having lunch in the company, they went straight out.
As the car left the garage, looking up, the sky was overcast, seeming like it might rain.
A sudden streak of lightning across the sky frightened Baili Xia in the car, causing her to unconsciously shrink back.
An inexplicable uneasiness.
