Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 734: He seems to be not upset_1
Uncle’s desk was already infuriatingly large.
It was at least ten square meters in area, even bigger than her previous room.
It carried two desktop computers, along with a laptop.
The laptop wasn’t even the one Uncle usually used; he generally carried the one he used with him.
Four computers, what on earth for?
Did all the big shots have so many computers on their desks?
Behind Uncle, not too far away, was an ancient wooden carved shelf, full of folders.
There were so many, those whose memory wasn’t too sharp surely wouldn’t remember where each file was placed.
And then, on the other side of the office, the couch was both large and extravagant.
Even if five or six people lay down to sleep on it at the same time, it wouldn’t seem crowded.
Not far from the couch was an open coffee loft, where one could brew a coffee and sit by the tea-table, chatting over a cup.
Unfortunately, the coffee loft seemed to have been unused for a long time.
While it was always kept clean, it carried no trace of human presence.
Past the coffee loft, there was an open bookshelf.
It held so many books that Baili Xia estimated she would need ten years just to read them all.
Looking towards the decorated end, beyond stood a heavily built door.
Behind that door, there was surely Uncle’s resting room.
However, with the door closed, she couldn’t see the adornments inside.
Even without seeing it, based on the décor of the entire office, one wouldn’t find it hard to imagine that the room was equally impressive.
Did an office really need to be this dramatic?
In Baili Xia’s opinion, these rich people really must not know where to spend all their money, right?
Mu Xiaojiu said he wanted to check her learning progress, but as soon as they entered, he sat down behind his desk and got busy.
As for Baili Xia, she stood there a while, then started feeling a little lost in what to do next.
Since Uncle didn’t pay her any attention, she decided to have a look around, to see if there was anything entertaining.
After peeping over at the coffee loft and flipping through some books in the bookshelf,
and after picking up a book, she suddenly remembered what Mu Lingchuan had told her.
At Uncle’s, you must not tamper with anything randomly; don’t upset him.
She immediately turned and, instinctively casting a covert glance at the man behind the desk.
Mu Xiaojiu was still busy, he’d probably been somewhere today and was now sorting some things out.
Despite her reckless curiosity here, Uncle didn’t show any sign of discontent.
Perhaps, he was just too engrossed in his work and hadn’t noticed yet.
Nonetheless, she quickly put the book down and slowly strolled towards the floor-to-ceiling window on the side.
This was the 88th floor, and Bai Xia, even without getting too close to the window, couldn’t help but retreat in fear.
So high… incredibly high.
Especially with these large windows, anyone with acrophobia would surely be horrified looking down from here.
Although she wasn’t acrophobic, looking outside from such a height still made her uneasy.
Despite knowing that every detail and material at Uncle’s place must be both exquisite and robust,
imagination could alone be terrifying.
Just imagine, if the panel of the window suddenly shattered and she were to fall from such a height…
The thought made Baili Xia retreat further away from the window.
However, if one wanted to see the most beautiful view of Jin City, they really should be standing in front of this window…
