Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 817: I Will Be Obedient from Now On
Mu Xiaojiu was still embracing her tightly, striving to calm his chaotic breathing.
He had never anticipated such an immense shock from her taking the initiative, especially while he was in the throes of anger.
The famously composed Mr.
Xiaojiu found his self-control utterly crumbled in the face of this young girl!
Merely a gentle kiss from her and he almost lost it, almost took her right here.
He really hadn’t seen this coming; he hadn’t planned on taking her in the car, at least not before this moment.
When the car finally stops later, Ziying will surely knock on the door, and he didn’t want to put her in an awkward position.
With great difficulty, Mu Xiaojiu managed to subdue the flames within him just before the car came to a halt.
He gently lifted his head from Baili Xia’s neck and glanced once more at her still somewhat pale face.
Then, he lowered his eyes and began to button up her clothing, one button at a time.
He was in a foul mood, not out of anger, but rather a hint of… loss.
He didn’t know what it was that made him feel this loss, just that his heart felt heavy, like a child unable to muster any joy.
When the little creature looked at him, her gaze… it was so distant.
Had the space between them grown even wider?
But what did he actually care about?
Didn’t he only want her body?
What she was thinking, whom she was distancing herself from—what did it have to do with him?
After dressing her, Mu Xiaojiu picked up the panties which he had earlier yanked off roughly, attempting to reach for her foot.
Baili Xia, however, instinctively pulled back her ankle, dodging his touch.
So, she did care about her own body, after all…
Mu Xiaojiu handed the panties back to her, and though his handsome face was still somewhat stiff, his voice had softened, “In the future…”
“I’ll be obedient,” Baili Xia interjected in a faint voice before he could finish.
She turned away from him and put on her panties on her own.
When she turned back to face him again, there was a complete absence of ripples in her eyes: “I was wrong.
I’ll be obedient from now on.
I’m sorry.”
“…” She apologized with such a pleasant attitude, so why did his heart suddenly feel wrenched with pain?
What was the mistake, and why did it hurt?
The car came to a slow stop at that moment.
They had finally arrived, but what should have been a sunny gathering now seemed shadowed by his gloomy mood.
What was the point of going out to play now, no matter what they did?
But at least by going out, they wouldn’t have to stay here any longer, subject to Uncle’s torment.
Baili Xia gave her clothes another look to ensure there were no issues before drawing back the curtain that separated the front and back of the car.
Just as she opened the curtain, the car door was indeed knocked upon.
Outside, Mu Ziying’s voice, unable to hide her excitement, came through: “Xiaxia, come on down, we’re off to buy seafood!”
…Sometimes, Baili Xia truly envied Mu Ziying.
Although her temper was somewhat explosive, she was genuine and unpretentious.
Sure, she had her troubles, but compared to others, her happiness far outweighed her problems.
She was a daughter of a prestigious family, with a sister above her, and the immense Mu Group overshadowing them.
But because she was content, a little pocket money could make her happy for half a day.
She had no great ambitions, simply wishing to live each day with joy.
Thus, she was happy every day, and even if she felt sad, she would soon forget.
So, what about herself?
When could she live such a simple and happy life?
