Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 824: Have You Really Fallen for Him
After more than an hour long barbecue feast, everyone started playing on the beach.
Mu Xiaojiu, accompanied by Ye Hua, took the beach sightseeing car back to the nearby hotel to rest.
They had originally planned to camp on the beach, but having heard that it might rain late at night, they ultimately decided to stay in the hotel.
Although Baili Xia kept telling herself not to pay attention to that man, she couldn’t help but notice that he hadn’t eaten anything all night and had only been drinking.
“Don’t stay out too late, go back and rest early,” Nangong Xu told Mu Xiaojiu, looking at Baili Xia before he left.
“Got it,” Baili Xia nodded.
Mu Xiaoyao, seeing Dongfang Jin and Baili Xia chatting sporadically, didn’t feel much interest in joining and left after eating his fill.
There were still quite a few people swimming in the sea, and it seemed like the girls’ activities really started only after Uncle had left.
Of course, when Uncle was here, everyone played half-heartedly.
Everyone was trying to get close to Uncle, who had the mood to play?
Everyone had found things to do, and gradually, there were fewer people on the beach.
“Shall we go for a walk?” Dongfang Jin turned to ask Baili Xia.
After packing up her things, Baili Xia nodded to him.
The two of them stood up and slowly walked along the beach.
In the distance, Mu Xiaoyao watched the two of them walk side by side until they were far away, then finally left them behind and returned to the hotel as well.
With Dongfang Jin there, Baili Xia should be safe, especially since they had their people in that sea area.
Unless someone exceptionally skilled in outdoor combat were to attempt it, sneaking in would not be easy.
He had never liked these kinds of activities anyway; he might as well go back and face the computer.
Dongfang Jin and Baili Xia walked on the beach, slowly drifting further away.
That evening, it wasn’t just Mu Xiaojiu who was in a bad mood; even Mr.
Dongfang Jin seemed to be affected.
Ever since his last trip away from Jin City, Dongfang Jin had returned a bit different.
Maybe it was because he had realized that they could never go back to how things were.
So now, even talking to her, he lacked the previous desire to entangle.
It seemed like he had let go.
Baili Xia walked beside him, remaining silent, her gaze fixed on the sand beneath her feet.
The wind gently blew, the coolness of mid-autumn in each strand.
“Are you cold?” Dongfang Jin suddenly asked.
Baili Xia shook her head, “Not cold.”
“Do you really love him?” his suddenly changed tone caught Baili Xia off guard.
Thinking about how she had spent the entire evening sitting with his brother, and how everyone from the Eight Big Families knew they would soon be engaged,
She smiled somewhat helplessly, unable to nod or shake her head, “He treats me well and takes good care of me.”
“Is that really good?” Dongfang Jin looked at her sideways, his eyes sharp and scrutinizing.
“If it’s really good, why didn’t he speak to you at all tonight?”
“No, although he is not very talkative, that’s just his personality.
It’s not his fault, but he was with me all night.”
Baili Xia smiled and blinked, “He’s just a bit cold by nature, but he’s really a good person.”
Dongfang Jin’s expression turned a bit strange: “I was talking about Mu Xiaojiu, the man you call Uncle.”
“…” Baili Xia’s mind suddenly became a mess, and she staggered, almost falling onto the beach.
