Although Uncle’s actions were awkward, obviously never having done anything like this before.

Although the dress dragged on the ground, getting dusty and filthy everywhere.

Although he really seemed completely unsuited for this task.

But he did it anyway, naturally, and nonchalantly.

Suddenly, Baili Xia truly felt a sense of peaceful times.

If this were indeed a dream, then she hoped never to wake up from it.

The dress was finally securely back on her body.

After Mu Xiaojiu had adjusted her clothes, he picked up the cell phone from the ground, only to see that the location he sent out last night had still not been successfully sent.

“Wait here for a moment,” he said, taking the phone and walking out of the cave.

After the storm had passed, there seemed to be a slight signal.

A few steps further outside, the shared location information was finally sent successfully.

A glimmer of light flickered in the depth of his eyes as he put the phone back in his pocket and immediately turned around to return to the cave.

Baili Xia didn’t know if it was because she had been standing too long, or if she was just exhausted.

When Mu Xiaojiu came back, she let go of the rock, intending to greet him.

But as soon as she released her support from the rock, her legs went weak, and she staggered two steps backward.

In her disarray, her foot stepped on something.

It felt somewhat slimy, soft…

“Don’t move!” Mu Xiaojiu, who had just returned and entered the mouth of the cave, inhaled sharply.

The moment Baili Xia stepped on that thing, he immediately crossed over with the swiftest speed.

Baili Xia then realized that what she had stepped on was actually a poisonous snake in a semi-hibernative state.

It had been coiled there, motionless, and in this near late autumn season, almost fully ready to hibernate.

But when she stepped on its tail, the snake’s head shot up immediately.

Baili Xia was truly terrified, having never been in such close contact with such a horrible soft-bodied poisonous creature.

She was so frightened that she froze for half a second before immediately trying to dodge the snake’s attack.

However, her limbs were still weak and powerless, and her speed couldn’t keep up.

A strong force yanked her aside in an instant.

In the air, a faint scent of blood and venom was detectable, but it disappeared in the blink of an eye.

When Baili Xia came to her senses, she saw Mu Xiaojiu flinging the snake away with a snap, and it hit the ground with a thud.

His tall figure flitted past her, and in a moment, he had taken large strides over.

Lifting his leg, he brought it down fast and hard, and with a squelch, the snake’s vital seven inches were crushed under his foot.

“Ugh…” Baili Xia instinctively pressed her chest.

A wave of nausea churned in her stomach, nearly making her vomit on the spot.

After just dry heaving, Mu Xiaojiu had already returned to her side.

“Uncle…” she moved her lips, but before the word could come out, Mu Xiaojiu interrupted her.

“Can you walk on your own?” His voice was indescribably hoarse.

It was hoarse before but now seemed even deeper.

“I can.” She held back the discomfort in her stomach, nodded, and took the lead toward the outside of the cave.

“Hurry up,” Mu Xiaojiu’s suppressed voice came from behind.

She hesitated for a moment but then quickened her pace, her legs feeling so weak that they were almost devoid of any strength.

She didn’t know if it was because of the cold morning wind that had blown over her earlier or the shock she had just experienced, but now her forehead felt even hotter, and she felt even weaker.

But Mu Xiaojiu kept urging her on from behind…
