Be Gentle, My Master

Chapter 937: If Skills Are Inferior There's Nothing to Blame

  • Next Chapter

Luxury cars and BMWs are not every woman’s cup of tea.

Baili Xia certainly doesn’t like them.

Driving such a car would have had her in a constant state of fear, terrified of even the slightest scratch or bump.

She would rather spend money on a taxi, or even take the bus if need be.

In any case, driving this car would have definitely left her a nervous wreck, all flustered and clumsy.

Mu Xiaoyao was about to lead her to the car when his phone suddenly rang.

Answering the call, he didn’t know what the other person said, but Mu Xiaoyao’s face darkened, and his thin lips pressed tightly into an obvious expression of displeasure.

“I’ve said it how many times?

No going to the casinos to play.

Have my words fallen on deaf ears?”

“Boss, we know we were wrong, but it was really the other party cheating this time—it’s their fault.”

“If you can’t afford to lose, don’t gamble,” Mu Xiaoyao thought to hang up the phone.

The person on the other end immediately became indignant and grudgingly said, “Boss, the brothers really do know they were wrong, but this time our guys got beaten up by them, several in fact.

They couldn’t even handle a cripple.”

“Cripple?” Mu Xiaoyao’s brows knitted together.

Baili Xia, who had been idly waiting, suddenly focused intently at the mention of ‘casino’ and ‘cripple.’

She didn’t dare look at him, but her ears were pricked up, trying to hear what the person on the other end of the phone was saying.

The surroundings were very quiet, and the sales staff at the 4S shop didn’t dare come over and disturb them.

Under such silent conditions, Baili Xia concentrated fully, and eventually made out the voice coming from the phone.

“Yes, a cripple with a disabled right hand, only using his left, but still managed to knock several of our brothers to the ground in just a few moves.”

“Less skilled than someone else, what’s there to complain about?” Mu Xiaoyao coldly snorted.

The man on the phone became discontented again, “Being less skilled is not worth complaining about, but they cheated. That casino is obviously a trap.”

Mu Xiaoyao remained silent.

The man continued, “Boss, shouldn’t we stand up against such socially harmful casinos and pursue justice?”

“It’s just you guys itching to gamble a couple rounds.” Trying to lie to him, and the lie not even well crafted.

The man realized his poor attempt at lying, coughed lightly, and continued.

“Regardless, Boss, now that we’ve stumbled upon their underhanded tactics, we ought to eliminate the scourge for the people.”

“Not interested,” Mu Xiaoyao said coldly and immediately hung up the phone.

Looking up, he saw Baili Xia staring straight at him, seemingly lost in thought.

“What are you thinking about?” he asked softly.

Baili Xia shook her head, but the worry that fleetingly crossed her eyes did not escape Mu Xiaoyao’s sharp gaze.

“Interested?” he asked with an arched eyebrow.

He was worried about how to fill her idle time, unsure how to occupy her, not himself.

He certainly had a pile of matters waiting for his attention, but Uncle had told him to keep watch over her.

Baili Xia met his gaze, unsure of what to say.

It wasn’t that she was interested; it was concern.

She had already told Guisu last time not to work at the casino, but given Guisu’s current situation, what else could he do if not work at the casino?

But that casino he was at was too much of a pit, even resorting to cheating.

The underground casinos were shady enough, but to go this far, following these people, there was no good path for him.

“Since you’re interested, I’ll take you to broaden your horizons.” Mu Xiaoyao suddenly grasped her hand and led her forward.
