Be Gentle, My Master
Chapter 989: You've Lost All Face for the Mu Family
The first match of the first group quickly ended, Sima Liuli won.
In the second group, Mu Ziying entered the arena, and without any suspense, victory was determined within a few moves.
For the third group, due to a vacant spot from the Nangong Family, there was a bye.
In the seventh group, the first match pitted Mu Ziqing against Sima Liuyue.
The gap between Mu Ziqing and Sima Liuyue was quite evident.
From the outset, Mu Ziqing was utterly suppressed by Sima Liuyue, forced to retreat at every turn.
Within ten moves, Mu Ziqing was driven out of the arena and lost the match.
However, Sima Liuyue didn’t deal her blows savagely.
Had she gone all out, Mu Ziqing’s defeat might have been even more embarrassing.
With a downcast head, Mu Ziqing returned to the rest area, her face full of disappointment.
Although the outcome was expected, the lack of hope for advancing in this group meant losing a spot in the top eight.
Baili Xia and Mu Ziying hurriedly went up to comfort her.
“Ziqing, Sima Liuyue is just too strong. Don’t worry, we’ll make an effort,” they reassured.
Mu Ziqing nodded; now she could only rely on the two of them.
The second match of the group stage began…
In the first group, Sima Liuli had a bye.
In the second group, Mu Ziying won again with ease, securing an early spot in the quarterfinals.
For the third group, there was still a bye.
In the seventh group, Sima Liuyue once again took to the field and won with absolute advantage, advancing early into the quarterfinals.
The third match began…
In the first group, Sima Liuli won again and made it to the quarterfinals.
In the second group, two players who were already eliminated ended their match carelessly after a few exchanges.
In the third group, it was Baili Xia against Ouyang Peishan, a battle that would determine who would advance to the next round.
Mu Ziying and Mu Ziqing watching from below were both extremely anxious for Baili Xia, whose complexion still seemed off, looking somewhat pale.
They weren’t scared of Baili Xia losing; what frightened them was the possibility of her facing her archenemy when she wasn’t feeling well and being dealt a heavy hand.
The two standing in the arena were staring each other down, clearly both intent on beating the other soundly.
As the referee gave the command, Ouyang Peishan instantly charged out, swinging a punch at Baili Xia.
Baili Xia had practiced many times for these tactics with Wu Ming.
Ouyang Peishan’s speed was a lot slower compared to Wu Ming.
She raised her arm, ready to deflect the incoming punch, but just as they made contact, Baili Xia felt that her strength was utterly insufficient to block the seemingly slow but powerful blow.
She had been retching all morning, and her body had felt as if it had been hollowed out; she had no energy to spare.
With all her might, she just managed to hold off Ouyang Peishan’s punch but was forced back three steps.
Without a moment of hesitation, Ouyang Peishan chased after her, throwing punch after punch.
Baili Xia had no time to think and could only block desperately with her arms.
Although she wasn’t hit, she was pushed step by step backward, quickly approaching the edge of the field.
After a succession of five or six punches, Ouyang Peishan, having exerted a considerable amount of energy, stopped to catch her breath.
Only then did Baili Xia get a moment to ease up; her arms were in pain as she reached her left hand over to rub her right forearm.
Seeing Baili Xia in pain, Ouyang Peishan gave a sneering laugh.
“So this is all you’re capable of, and here I thought you were so formidable, always so arrogant.”
“Today, you will taste what it’s like to be beaten. You’ve lost all face for the Mu family.”
