Chapter 1363 - 1330: Drinking Blood (Part 2)

He accurately saw through and found the flaw in this temporarily developed technique, and dissected it like a butcher carving up an ox!

The time it took was even less than the interval between two consecutive Qi Blades from Dragon Flash!

His vision... has improved dramatically now.

Just as Lann anticipated.

The Qi Blade that penetrated through the subtle flaw and slashed in, enhanced by the core concept and technique of Charging Slash, matched the increased power of Dragon Flash!

It’s like using a meat-cutting knife from a seafood shop to cut squid tentacles.

The sharp, pale red blade light almost effortlessly sliced straight into the defensive circle constructed by the Moon God with tentacles.

Can a squid use its tentacles to ward off the seafood shop owner’s blade?

No.

So the Moon God can’t either.

The sound of ’ssslll’ rang out densely, as viscous blood accompanied by shredded flesh fell away from the Moon God’s skeleton.

Even more than just tentacles...

From the moment the Moon God controlled its tentacles to form a defensive circle and covered its face with a forepaw, just a few seconds later...

"Slish!!!"

Many thick tentacles, along with the skinny hand the Moon God used to cover its face, all burst into a multitude of blood flowers after the flash of the blade!

The smooth cut slid down from the severed limbs, still emitting smoke.

Lann swung his sword vertically, so the Qi Blade from Dragon Flash also flew forward vertically.

A vertical cut sliced through the elbow of the hand covering the Moon God’s face.

Due to the arm being bent to cover its face, the blade light cut in from the Ancient God’s arm and cut out again.

It sliced through the midsection of the forearm and the overlapping midsection of the upper arm.

A hand was cut into three segments.

The hind leg on the side where it squatted on the ground also suffered the same fate.

The two severed arm segments fell along with the Moon God’s body.

The anomalously abundant blood within the body drew into trails from the gushing wounds as it fell.

This was nearly equal to Lann slashing apart half its body in one stroke!

The defensive surface it had just constructed was instantly shattered by Lann!

At this moment, with its body severely injured and scorched by holy light, the Moon God might have reached the most perilous point in its existence.

But inexplicably...

’Now, choose.’

Within the unbearable pain caused by the Light of the Dual Holy Trees, amid its screams, the Moon God communicated anew through Spiritual Vision.

At that moment, Lann immediately bristled like a startled cat.

A chilling sensation surged like never before.

And in those superhuman visual nerves, during the Moon God’s slow fall, its face and even the severed hand fell along.

Yet those three profound holes on its face remained fixed, staring at Lann.

"Ding~"

A blood-red cross-shaped light burst from that distorted face!

After the flash of red light, it seemed as if nothing happened at all.

The intensity of the fight between the Moon God and Lann had reached the level where any casual move could nearly upheave the entire flower sea.

If not for the automatic restoration within the Dream Realm, the mountainside blooming with the flower sea would be unsure what form it would take.

But now, after the flash of red light, apart from the piercing sound when the red light appeared, hardly even a petal was disturbed.

The once ravaged flower sea reverted back to its serene and beautiful state.

Yet the Demon Hunter who had just nearly sliced the Ancient God apart in one slash... the sound of ’clack’ came as his hand armor released, then forcibly gripped the sword hilt again.

Lann only felt his body almost instantaneously emptied.

All strength, all vitality, even thoughts and consciousness, turned sluggish, thin, and worsening.

He was nearly helpless, suddenly kneeling on the ground, facing the direction of the Moon God he’d cut a leg and hand from.

Only the Aron Dite thrust into the ground for support stopped him from completely falling down.

’My body’s blood... is gone...’

With laborious effort, his thoughts turned; his body was suddenly cleared of blood, not only from major veins but from the capillaries on the skin, deep-seated organs, and brain too... all gone!

That’s why even his thoughts were sluggish like the near-dead.

His face instantly paled to an extreme, incomparable even to Demon Hunters who overdid it with Magic Potion!

No... this isn’t ’like’ a corpse!

Even a proper corpse dead for an hour wouldn’t be like Lann now, without a drop of flowing blood!

"No! Wait, sir! In my check, your blood indicators are completely normal!"

Mentos never expected that after the upgrade of its permissions, it would face such a situation immediately!

It instantly panicked enough to nearly blind Lann’s retinas!

"Your blood is flowing normally! I’m certain! Sir!"

’That’s not blood, or rather, it’s not blood in the normal sense.’

Now Lann had no strength left even to move his lips.

But his eyes still passively observed.

This ability, though seemingly akin to blood-sucking creatures just drawing blood from the body.

Yet, for it to stimulate and dramatically enhance Lann’s Spiritual Vision beforehand, even if the final effect is simple, the principle must not be.

It’s not ’blood-sucking’, nor is it ’blood-burning’...

When Lann’s Spiritual Vision observed the red light, he vaguely understood something.

——The Moon God utilized its essence as a high-dimensional lifeform.

It altered the nature of the blood flowing through Lann’s body.

In Lann’s vessels, those red fluids tasked with carrying nutrients and oxygen still exist, but they would no longer serve the consciousness of ’Lann’.

Mentos detected normal blood flow, but only body-wise normality.

Like virtual blood on a game character’s health bar, does it exist? It likely does.

But is it useful?

...Undoubtedly not.

’One minute,’ the Ancient God’s whispers through Spiritual Vision came timely, "your consciousness can only last one minute."

Lann stiffly and grudgingly raised his head a tiny angle.

And in the distance, the Moon God whose half side he’d just shattered was lying on the ground.

At this moment, showing no intention to struggle, nor dragging its body forward to slap him dead.

Instead, it simply lay still, the three hollowed holes on that distorted face gazing quietly at him.

Even the bleeding severed limb stretched slightly towards him.

’Come now, Lann, my child.’

’Savor your... first sip of blood.’
