Chapter 65 - 065: Labour...

The morning began normally.

Sunlight had already filled the room when she woke, she lay beneath the covers for a while, enjoying the quiet before finally sitting up.

Her pregnancy had become highly impossible to ignore lately.

Her stomach was heavy, her back ached more often, and even getting comfortable in bed had become a small battle. Her mates had also become much more careful with her over the past several days.

Too careful that it irritated her at some point, Kenai had practically turned staying inside into a rule, Rylan has made asking her whatever she needs as a thing and on the other hand kai had somehow developed the habit of appearing whenever she tried to carry something herself.

But, she had stopped arguing quite as much because she knew they were worried about her.

She slowly got out of bed and began preparing for the morning.

Nothing felt unusual, she ate a little, drank some water, and spent some time inside the residence while her mates went about their own responsibilities.

Then, sometime later, she felt a strange tightening across her stomach.

Anaria paused, her hand instinctively moved over her belly. The discomfort lasted for several moments before fading.

She frowned "That’s painful."

She paused for a while and still nothing happened, Anaria decided it was probably another pregnancy pain.

She had been having all sorts of strange sensations lately. There was no reason to assume every uncomfortable feeling meant something serious.

So she continued with her morning.

Nearly an hour passed, then the pain came again.

This time, Anaria gripped the edge of the table. Her breath caught. The sensation was much stronger than before.

She waited for it to pass, and when it finally did, she remained still for a moment.

Her expression had changed "That wasn’t normal."

Anaria lowered her gaze toward her stomach.

Her heart began beating faster.

She had never been pregnant before. She didn’t know what labor was supposed to feel like, and she certainly didn’t know how quickly things could change and it won’t be right to just jump into conclusion like that.

Instead of guessing, she called the system.

The familiar screen appeared before her.

[Host Condition Scan]

She selected it.

The System processed her condition, for a few seconds, nothing happened.

Then a new message appeared.

[Host has entered labor.]

Anaria stared at the words, she read them again and again.

"No." Her voice came out quietly.

The reality finally reached her.

Labor....

Her hand moved protectively over her stomach "It can’t been happening now?"

The System remained on the screen.

Anaria swallowed. She had known this day was coming. She had known she would eventually give birth but knowing it was coming had been completely different from being told it had already begun.

She took a slow breath "What do I do?"

The System provided immediate instructions to help her remain stable while assistance was brought to her.

Anaria focused on each one.

She didn’t want to panic but another wave of pain was already beginning.

She clenched her teeth "Okay..."

She called for a servant.

When one hurried inside, Anaria gripped the edge of the table "Go get my mates"

The servant looked startled "Lady Anaria?"

"Now."

The servant immediately turned and ran.

Anaria waited only a moment before deciding the chair was no longer comfortable.

She needed water.

She made her way toward the bathing area and carefully lowered herself into the warm bathtub.

The heat eased some of the tension in her body but still it was not enough.

Another wave came. Anaria groaned, gripping the edge of the bathing area

The normal morning was gone, her only thought now was getting through this safely and getting her baby into the world.n

Anaria’s breathing grew uneven as another contraction tightened through her body.

She leaned against the side of the bath area, eyes squeezed shut. The warm water helped, but the pain was becoming harder to ignore.

A few moments later, hurried footsteps sounded outside.

The door opened.

Kenai entered first. Rylan and Kai were right behind him.

All three stopped when they saw Anaria in the bath area

For one brief moment, none of them moved.

Then Kenai’s expression changed "What happened?"

Anaria opened her eyes "Can’t you see that I’m in labour"

The words were enough.

Kenai immediately moved closer, while Rylan and Kai followed.

"What do you need?" Rylan asked.

"Just get the woman." Aanaria’s voice tightened as another wave of pain began. She grabbed the edge of the tub.

Kai looked helplessly between her and the others "Who?"

"For fucks same, get the herbal woman," Anaria managed.

Kenai looked toward the door and instructed the servants that came in with them to call her

Anaria breathed through the pain, trying to follow the instructions the System had given her.

The three males remained close, but none of them seemed certain what they were supposed to do.

Kenai looked like he wanted to stay beside her, Rylan kept glancing toward the entrance. Kai looked as though he was one second away from running outside himself.

Anaria opened her eyes.

"Why are you guys still here"

Kenai looked at her "We can’t just leave you"

"I’m fine, please go and get the lady" Her voice strained as she replied them

"We can wait for her here."

"No." Another wave hit, and Anaria’s fingers tightened around the edge of the tub.

She forced the words out "Are you planning on killing me"

The three males hesitated. Aaria glared at them through the pain. "Get out. Get the woman."

That finally worked. kenai turned immediately, Rylan and Kai followed him, and within moments, Anaria was alone again.

The room became quiet, Anaria rested her head against the edge of the bath area and tried to steady herself.

The pain was getting worse.

She knew the herbal woman was coming and that her mates were looking for her.

But still fear had already begun creeping in.

"What if she didn’t arrive soon enough?"

"What if something went wrong?"

"What if the baby"

Anaria stopped the thought before it could finish"No."

She placed both hands over her stomach "Nothing is going to happen."

But she wasn’t completely convinced, she called the System again.

The interface appeared.

"Is there anything else you can give me?"

The System processed her request.

Then a new notification appeared.

[Emergency Pregnancy Kit: Locked.]

Anaria stared h"Locked?"

[Emergency Pregnancy Kit has not yet been unlocked.]

Her eyes widened "Then unlock it."

A moment passed.

The System displayed another message.

[Unlocking Emergency Pregnancy Kit requires 500 Spirit Fangs.]

Anaria didn’t even hesitate "Take all of it."

The response came immediately.

[500 Spirit Fangs deducted.]

[Balance: 250 spirit fangs]

Anaria watched the number disappear from her resources.

She didn’t care for now.

The System continued.

[Emergency Pregnancy Kit unlocked.]

Anaria released a shaky breath.

The kit was finally available.

She stared at the new System notification while another contraction began building.

Whatever was inside that kit, she needed it now.

And for the first time since the pain had started, Anaria felt like she had another option.
