Beast Taming: I'm Really Just a Forest Ranger
Chapter 563 - 264: Li Junyue: Even Together, We Can’t Beat Him_4
Then, he returned to Li Junyue and gave his analysis: "They’ve been poisoned too deeply and for too long; just this won’t wake them up temporarily. They’ll need at least two hours to recover."
Li Junyue’s expression turned slightly solemn. He pulled his gaze back from the slumbering people and began to look around the warehouse.
The warehouse was large and empty, with no sign of enemies.
There were no enemies, yet the warehouse was filled with a thick mist. These guys had indeed set an ambush long ago, just waiting for them to break in.
Li Junyue secretly felt fortunate that he didn’t enter through the front door; otherwise, they might have been sneak-attacked by the dangerously thick mist, perhaps lying on the ground unconscious like the rest.
The back door had Poison Spore, but compared to Sweet Fragrance, it posed less of a threat.
Where did the enemies go?
As doubts flooded his mind, Li Junyue suddenly remembered that Captain Wang Ren, who was previously in a coma, had responded to his calls, and a thought flashed through his mind.
As a captain-level Beastmaster, Wang Ren was already a High-tier Beastmaster, with stronger resistance to such skills.
Thus, the degree to which he was poisoned was not as deep as expected.
Li Junyue quickly squatted down in front of Wang Ren and shouted loudly: "Captain Wang! Captain Wang!"
After a while,
Wang Ren’s fingers lightly trembled. Seeing this, Li Junyue was overjoyed and immediately raised his voice: "Captain Wang!!"
Under Li Junyue’s gaze, Wang Ren finally opened his eyes.
But his condition was visibly very weak, and his voice was still as hoarse and feeble as ever: "Don’t mind us, go after them."
"Captain Wang, where did they go?" Li Junyue hastily inquired with rapid speed.
Wang Ren’s eyes gradually closed, and his trembling right hand pointed northwest.
The next moment, his arm fell, eyes shut tight, Wang Ren fell into a slumber once again.
Li Junyue stood up, eyes flickering, expression serious, yet his tone remained calm and composed: "Immediately report the situation here to the branch office, ask them to send people to block off Bamboo Forest Road."
"Half of you stay here, the other half come with me."
Li Junyue methodically issued one instruction after another, planning the next steps.
Lin approached Li Junyue and reminded in a low voice: "Captain Li, these guys are obviously not simple; won’t we be short on manpower?"
Li Junyue replied in a deep voice: "I have my plan."
Lin said no more.
Not long after,
The Cyan Wind Hunting Dog, best at tracking enemies, caught multiple suspicious scents and howled.
Li Junyue turned to see, precisely the northwest direction Wang Ren had pointed: "Where does this direction lead to?"
Lin thought carefully for a moment and quickly spoke: "Changhe Park."
Changhe Park is located in the suburbs of Lishui City, vast in area, a popular leisure spot for city residents.
But at this hour, Changhe Park was already silent.
Without much hesitation, Li Junyue took half the team, letting the Cyan Wind Hunting Dog lead ahead and track down the enemy’s whereabouts.
On the way, he took out his phone, dialed a number, and spoke in a low voice: "It’s me."
"Yes, encountered a slight mishap; I need your assistance."
"Location is Changhe Park."
After hanging up, Lin clearly sensed Captain Li’s expression relax considerably, his previously furrowed brow slowly easing, as if now confident in handling this sudden situation.
"Captain Li, do we have outside reinforcements?" Lin couldn’t help but ask.
Li Junyue turned back to look, his face no longer stern and grim, revealing a slight smile: "Yes, we can only seek their help now."
Upon hearing Captain Li’s affirmative response, Lin’s mind started to race, and suddenly a bold idea emerged: "Captain Li, could it be your three friends from before?"
"You’re curious?" Li Junyue replied noncommittally, directly asking back.
Lin laughed awkwardly: "Not exactly curious, just feel this situation is full of danger, letting regular Beastmasters come to help is somewhat too..."
Saying this, he seemed to realize something, his voice abruptly stopped.
If he could think of this point, surely Captain Li could too, and in a more comprehensive and thorough manner.
Since Captain Li would choose to request external assistance, he surely had his reasons.
Li Junyue saw everyone casting curious glances, and spoke to dispel the concerns in their hearts: "Rest assured, they’re very capable."
"How capable?" Lin couldn’t resist asking.
Li Junyue gazed ahead, his voice carried away by the wind: "Even if we all joined forces, we wouldn’t be their match."
