Chapter 1253: Chapter 514: The Dragon-Patterned Bamboo’s Request! Summoning the Crystal Dragon!

The Dragon-Patterned Bamboo, which had consumed a bottle of Da Huang’s Essence Blood, reacted violently as soon as it got slightly closer to Da Huang.

"RUSTLE RUSTLE! (No... Go away...)"

Su Ping frowned as he watched the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo sway its branches in rejection. He glanced at the aggrieved-looking Da Huang, feeling somewhat suspicious. He wondered if this thing wasn’t a Dragon.

Obviously, Da Huang was enraged by Su Ping’s suspicion. With a furious ROAR, it flew into the sky, causing countless lights to flicker on within the Heart of Cloud. Su Ping hurriedly waved his hands to pacify it, his brows still furrowed in thought.

He looked at the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo in front of him. "Little guy, didn’t you want a Dragon? Is Da Huang not good enough?"

Even though Su Ping didn’t know exactly what the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo wanted a Dragon for, this made no sense! As a member of the Dragon Clan with the exact same Attribute as the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo, and the provider of the Essence Blood, there was no reason for Da Huang to be rejected!

However, the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo’s resisting branches were clearly not faking it. Su Ping patted Da Huang’s body, gesturing for it to leave. Sure enough, once Da Huang flew away, the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo’s agitation subsided significantly, and it gradually returned to a state of calm.

After a moment of thought, Su Ping continued to inspect the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo using the Dragon Gate Mark. The results showed that it still lacked the potential to undergo Evolution into a Dragon Pet. Clearly, even if the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo’s Evolution was related to Dragons, it would not turn into something like a Bamboo Dragon or a Mu Long.

So, what exactly did this little guy need? Su Ping frowned. Even he found it difficult to guess under these circumstances. Meanwhile, the Myriad Spirit Beast Atlas remained completely unresponsive. Evidently, the current collection of knowledge was not enough for it to perfect a flawless Breeding Method. Su Ping fell into deep thought.

Suddenly, a thought struck him, and he asked in shock, "Little Bamboo, do you want a Dragon’s corpse? Or a Dragon Soul?"

Obviously, the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo hadn’t expected such a question, and it began to sway its branches again in denial. Su Ping finally breathed a sigh of relief. As long as it didn’t require killing a Dragon, everything was fine.

Although Su Ping had quite a few Dragons, and they now belonged to him, they were still the Totem symbol of the Dragon Nation. If he slaughtered one, there was a very high chance that Su Anyong would slaughter him the moment he returned.

Thinking of this, Su Ping simply waved his hand. "Forget it. Since you don’t like Da Huang, it’s not like there are no other Dragons in the Heart of Myriad Spirits. I’ll bring those three little guys over."

What Su Ping referred to, naturally, were those three Xiao Longs: the Crystal Dragon Little Gray, the Ghost Dragon Little Black, and the Iron Dragon that arrived later, which Su Ping had named Old Tie.

These three Xiao Longs were currently in their infant stage. Every day, they did nothing but eat and sleep while being raised in the Heart of Woods. Su Ping would occasionally check on them and provide some nutritional resources for their meals, but he didn’t manage them much beyond that. Only after passing this infant stage and reaching around the Commander Level would they enter their Growth Period. At that point, they would no longer need excessive sleep and would become much more active. Of course, considering that Pet Beasts like Dragons could be extremely destructive when active, Su Ping guessed it would be quite a headache.

However, for the sake of the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo’s mysterious Evolution, Su Ping was willing to go all out. After dragging out the three Xiao Longs, which were now all the size of small calves, he arrived at the Forest Heart once again.

A crescent moon hung in the sky as the night deepened. This area of the Forest Heart was incomparably silent. It seemed that even the rest of the Plant-based Pet Beasts had grown drowsy and fallen asleep. Only Su Ping was awake, tossing the three calf-sized Dragons onto the ground.

Since it didn’t like the earth and Wood-Attribute Forest Dragon, Su Ping wanted to see how the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo felt about these three Dragons, which represented the Space Element, the Undead Series, as well as the Metal Element and pure Physical combat power.

However, something completely beyond his expectations actually occurred. The Dragon-Patterned Bamboo, which had previously been incredibly resistant—acting as if it had seen a hideous monster—now behaved like a starving wolf eyeing a peerless beauty. Most importantly, it was eyeing three peerless beauties.

Upon seeing the three drowsy Xiao Longs, the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo rushed out of the soil without even shaking off the clods of dirt attached to its roots. Its branches tapped this one and rubbed that one, looking as if it simply couldn’t bear to let any of them go. Seeing this left Su Ping completely speechless. What the hell was this supposed to mean?

But judging from its reaction, this must have met the creature’s requirements. It was just that... Looking at its attitude, it seemed that any of these three would do? If that was the case...

Su Ping blinked, starting to understand. The only differences between the Forest Dragon Da Huang and these three were their Realm of strength and their age. These three were Xiao Longs, while Da Huang was an adult, perfectly evolved member of the Dragon Clan. So, this thing preferred young ones and disliked mature ones?

Su Ping shook his head, having somewhat clarified the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo’s intentions. He asked curiously, "Why do you want these Xiao Longs? Do you want all three, or just one?"

This time, the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo understood his words. Even though it had no facial features, Su Ping could acutely sense its reluctance to choose. Eventually, while the three Xiao Longs were still drowsy and unaware of what was happening, the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo gently swayed its willow-like branches and pointed at one of them.

It had to be said that this broken thing had truly, truly excellent taste. Because the Dragon Pet it pointed to was none other than the Space Crystal Dragon, Little Gray—the one with the highest value and the rarest Attribute!

Su Ping’s eyelids twitched, but since he was going all out, he let it happen. Looking at the bamboo’s demeanor, it didn’t seem like it would threaten the Xiao Long’s Life, which was all that mattered. He tossed Old Tie and Little Black back into the Beast Taming Space to sleep, leaving only Little Gray behind.

Su Ping then continued to ask, "And then? What do you want?"

The Dragon-Patterned Bamboo’s body continued to sway. It looked at the groggy Little Gray and began whipping its restless branches with loud CRACKS. However, this time, it was whipping the branches against its own body.

Watching this made Su Ping somewhat suspicious. Its intentions weren’t that hard to comprehend, and its behavior was easy enough to grasp, but from the perspective of Breeding, it was incredibly difficult to understand! Could it be that aside from some sort of ’complex,’ this Dragon-Patterned Bamboo had some other... peculiar hobbies?

After a moment of thought, Su Ping probed tentatively, "You mean... you want Little Gray to hit you?"

Although it was very abstract, he had to admit that the Hundred Birds Phoenix had conveyed a similar meaning before. Could it be that all Plant-based Pet Beasts shared this kind of hobby?

And the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo’s subsequent response was affirmative. It really was like that!

Su Ping narrowed his eyes slightly. Obviously, absurdity aside, there had to be an underlying reason for this. He pondered for a moment before speaking slowly, "Little Bamboo, are you doing all this to fuse and bind with this Xiao Long’s Energy aura? But the two of you have different Attributes. Can you actually achieve that?"

He had already somewhat guessed the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo’s Evolution and type Abilities. This thing really was a special Pet Beast that heavily relied on the Dragon Clan for its Evolution. And he had to admit, Su Ping was truly intrigued by the changes in this Dragon-Patterned Bamboo.

However, this time, facing Su Ping’s question, the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo seemed completely bewildered. It clearly hadn’t understood his meaning.

Su Ping pursed his lips and then nodded helplessly. "Never mind. You can proceed. I’ll just have a word with Little Gray. But remember, too much of a good thing can be harmful. If it becomes too much for you to handle, you need to speak up early."

Even though the current Little Gray was only at the Elite Advanced Level, Pet Beasts of the Dragon Clan Race were in a league of their own.

"Little Gray! Little Gray!"

The Crystal Dragon slightly lifted its grayish-white eyelids. Its dead-fish-like eyes looked groggily at the ’mother’ from its memories who had just woken it up. "AWRR, AWRR~"

Looking at Little Gray’s wide-open mouth just after waking up, Su Ping was speechless, but he still took out an item from the Beast Taming Space. It was barbecue made from Advanced Fierce Beast Flame Pork. The Dragon Clan was a very violent Race, and their requirements for food were also quite high.

After swallowing the Flame Pork barbecue in one gulp, Little Gray finally regained a bit of Spirit. After receiving Su Ping’s command, its grayish-white eyes turned toward the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo, which was swaying in the wind as if fawning over it. Little Gray opened its mouth and blasted an air-cannon-like grayish-white Dragon Breath right at the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo’s body.

"RUSTLE RUSTLE!"

The intense reaction gave Su Ping a fright. He hurriedly stopped Little Gray from continuing its actions and stepped forward to check. Upon taking a closer look, Su Ping was stunned.

Not only did the Dragon-Patterned Bamboo have no injuries on its body, but exactly the opposite had occurred. On the raised, Dragon Scales-like patterns, the spot that had taken the attack had unexpectedly changed from its previous green bamboo color, gaining a streak of grayish-white that solely belonged to Little Gray...
