Chapter 4390 - Execution
Chapter 4390 - Execution
Two billion was no small number. It was about a quarter of an entire pantheon’s army, the backbone of their society. At the very least, they were all of royal lineages!
Including the new reinforcements, the ashura, Sin, and Virtue Pantheons had truly paid in blood in order to capture Tianming. Apart from the ashuras, which still had some cosmic gods remaining at their Imperial Star, the other two clans had practically emptied themselves out!
Six billion cosmic-god essences were densely piled together. Tianming had brought them out to issue the enemy a final warning. Once he swung the butcher’s blade, it would mean there was no room left for compromise.
He would fight these three pantheons to the death!
From Tianming’s standpoint, he would prefer to postpone this inevitable battle.
“I’ll count to three. If you don’t stop, six billion heads will roll!” Wudi’s voice was amplified by the Flameyellow Guard Formation, ensuring that all could hear it.
The enemy did not stop!
The wildbeasts had blood-red eyes, and behind them the three pantheons lurked within the clouds, cold and bloodthirsty. They truly looked as if they had been driven mad by defeat.
“One!”
“Two!”
Wudi began to count, every number rumbling like heavenly thunder.
It was clear that not only did the attacking army fail to slow down, they grew even more ferocious and frenzied.
“Stop! Stop!”
“Imperator Ming!”
Those vanguard troops had been utterly confident that they would be rescued. But what was happening now? This was six billion cosmic gods, not six people!
It was a quarter of each of the three pantheons, the backbone of countless maniverse-class worlds!
“Stop, stop...”
“What are you doing? Negotiate!”
As they saw their own allies still accelerating, the vanguard soldiers let out heart-rending screams. Yet compared to the thunderous snarls of the beast waves and Wudi’s magnified voice, their cries were far too small.
Wudi exchanged a look with Tianming.
“Execute them,” Tianming said flatly. The enemy had decided to play hardball, so there was no room left for wishful thinking. Truth be told, Tianming was almost impressed. He had never imagined that these three pantheons would dare risk the decline of their own races on behalf of the entire Eightpart Pantheons.
If they lost, they would be finished.
If they won, they would likely still be finished. Once they were gravely weakened, the true beneficiaries would be the wonderians, devas, Starfall, and Sundown Pantheons.
In a world war, the sides that fought the hardest were rarely the ones who reaped the rewards even if they won. The ones who truly rose afterward were often those who lurked on the sidelines, only emerging to pick up the spoils at the very end.
Thus, no one wanted to be the former... not unless they were truly driven mad by defeat.
Tianming had been forced into exactly that position.
As the beast tide almost reached them, Wudi could no longer hold back. He reached the end of his count.
Then he gave the order, “Commence the execution!”
At the command, the flames of hatred that had been long burning in the hearts of the flameyellow divinities overflowed. “Kill!!”
A blood sacrifice before the battle would only strengthen their fighting spirit. Countless butcher’s blades fell almost simultaneously upon the six billion howling cosmic-god essences. They all dimmed and were annihilated in that instant.
The screams, resentment, and unwillingness of the dead souls spread across the entire Imperial Star, their grievance soaring to the heavens. Most resentment was not even directed to Tianming, but rather their own brethren. They all knew Tianming had given them a chance, yet their brethren had still chosen to press the attack despite not having...
“Why? Why?!” Wails of the dead tore through the battlefield, igniting fury on both sides and turning every combatant’s eyes blood-red. Everyone knew that with these deaths, there was no retreat left.
Tianming coldly took in everything ahead, from the wildbeasts driven mad by the scent of blood to the thundering war drums.
“All units, prepare—”
Tianming stared at the dense armies ahead, his eyes burning. “If we’re going to fight, then I’ll give you something exciting first!”
The entire Imperial Star shook violently as the internal fusion formation suddenly changed form, and one Flameyellow Divine Pillar after another erupted from the ground. The colossal spears shot out like lances, skewering the beast waves packed densely within the passageway.
The Flameyellow Divine Pillars were not weapons meant specifically to target armies. But within the cramped passageway, these dozens of spears still inflicted massive casualties...
