Chapter 4576 - Final Destination

The world that was the green heart crumbled nonstop around him. Even the green substance that impeded him from before faded away as if their strings had been cut.

Tianming advanced faster with a heavy heart. "Xian Xian, what's the current situation? How much longer can this heart last?"

Xian Xian's spiritform appeared to sense the situation. "The green substance contains trace amounts of life power just like mine, but it's actually more like an inverse version of it. It's a curse-like anti-life power. I feel it dwindling more and more and I don't think it'll remain for long!"

Those words made him even more anxious.

Curiously, Ying Huo asked, "Xian Xian, how does this thing work to revive people? Is there really no way to keep someone revived with this substance alive?"

Xian Xian said disdainfully, "At the end of the day, this power steals vitality to create corpse-like existences! Once Dao San dies, the cursed life energy within those corpses fade away. There's simply no way to prevent them from dying!"

Ji Ji coldly added, "Without cursed life energy, their corpses probably wouldn't even be able to maintain their form."

Meow Meow asked, "If they were brought back from the dead, why didn't anyone else in the Realm of Chaos say anything? Didn't anybody notice? There's no way to keep this secret, right?"

Xian Xian said, "There's another sinister energy within the cursed life energy. Maybe that's what's controlling the memories of everyone in the Realm of Chaos, making them forget some things."

"Whatever it is, it's already over," Tianming said. "The question now is if we're able to save my parents and everyone else."

Xian Xian continued to sense the energy of the green heart around them and sighed without saying a word. Even it didn't know what could be done about this situation.

Meow Meow zipped around quickly, quickly bringing Tianming to the deepest depths of the crumbling green heart. At the very end of the road, Tianming saw two familiar figures.

Li Muyang sat atop an odd lifeform at the edge of the world on the brink of destruction. The lifeform looked like a fleshy worm with three green buds growing out of this. This was Dao San's body! Li Muyang's massive cosmic god body sat straight atop it.

Dao San's body greatly resembled a cordyceps caterpillar fungus. It gave off an odd aura and was covered in many green capillaries that gave rise to the rotting world around them. Every inch of the green world around it continued to flake away as it wailed in pain.

Dao San's wails were a cacophony of rage and hatred. Even in its agonized state, its threats didn't let up. "Li Muyang! All of you will die! No matter what you do, your rebellious act will amount to nothing!"

Yet, Li Muyang didn't seem the least bit affected by its words. It sat on the massive flowers that the green buds had bloomed into, silently appreciating the world as it headed towards ruin.

Tianming arrived just on time to see the green cordyceps-like lifeform turn from green to gray before disintegrating into nothing. When it was gone, the failing green heart lost all of its sustenance, causing a destructive glow to rise all over.

Wei Jing stood beside Li Muyang. The both of them smiled when they saw Tianming arrive. They had helped him resolve yet another tribulation, much to their joy.

However, Tianming noticed that their bodies began to fade away just like Dao San's had. With their resurrector gone, they would no longer be able to persist in this world. Not to mention, Li Muyang had used Fatesteal and suffered backlash from it, speeding up his demise.

"Dad! Mom!" Tianming charged at them like a madman, no longer able to hold back his tears. He watched as the light of destruction poured out of the center of the crumbling world, causing their hair and clothes to flutter. He saw their peaceful expressions as they looked at him.

When he met their gazes, he felt an extreme sense of serenity. Their bodies crumbled away, yet they showed no regret. They had waited a hundred thousand years so that their resurrected selves would be able to help Tianming along the way. They regretted nothing; they would give anything, even their lives, to help him one last time! This was their final destination!

The revived couple had never expected to be able to be with Tianming forever, knowing that they were nothing but Dao San's pawns. The fact that they were able to break free of its control and help Tianming, eliminating both Dao San and Jie Ba, was far more than they could have asked for! Their karmic fruit had ripened; their destiny had come to fruition! This was an outcome that the Aeternal Beings could never have expected.

Tianming's eyes were bloodshot as he zipped ahead towards them like a bolt of lightning, but when he arrived, their bodies had scattered into radiant sparkles along with the world around them, leaving nothing behind. The only thing that remained before him were three green flowers that imprinted themselves on the blade of the Grand-Orient Sword.

"Dad! Mom!" he cried out tragically. They didn't even speak any final words before they disappeared just like that.

Dao San was dead, leaving Tianming howling in rage in the lonely, crumbling world. He simply couldn't accept that things turned out as Shen Wu said they would. He would never be able to see his family from the Realm of Chaos ever again.
