Becoming a Billionaire From Awakening a System
Chapter 189: Share Division, I’ll Take Whatever You Give
Chapter 189: Chapter 189: Share Division, I’ll Take Whatever You Give
"Lin Feng, I really must thank you for this."
"If you need my help with anything in the future, just say the word. I’ll do whatever I can to help."
In all the time Lin Feng had known Yang Tianming, this was the first time he had ever heard such a promise from him.
And Lin Feng knew perfectly well the weight of that promise.
Lin Feng didn’t decline. He just nodded and said, "Don’t worry, Uncle Yang. If I need your help, I won’t hesitate to ask!"
Before leaving the private room, Yang Tianming turned to Lin Feng and said, "I’m relieved that Qiniang has a friend like you. Thank you for looking after him."
Lin Feng smiled. "Yang Qiniang is my brother, too."
After Yang Tianming left, Lin Feng hurried straight to the university.
His schedule for the day was tight.
He had just met with Yang Tianming in the morning, and that afternoon, Lin Feng had to attend the campus job fair at the university.
When Lin Feng got back to Yang City University.
The first thing he saw was Yang Qiniang, the rich heir, actually working the check-in desk at the classroom entrance.
"Look at you, all relaxed. Found yourself a nice little gig, huh?"
Lin Feng walked over, teasing him with a smile.
Yang Qiniang grinned. "This check-in desk might look easy, but it’s a lot of work."
"Take a look. Good thing the university got us a large conference room. If this were in a small classroom, we’d never fit this many people."
Looking at the sign-in sheet in Yang Qiniang’s hands.
Lin Feng was left speechless.
’I really didn’t expect our company would be this popular.’
A good two or three hundred people had come to sign in.
They had come to attend this recruitment fair.
Keep in mind, dozens of companies came to recruit at Yang City University every day.
During the information sessions, even a good company would only attract a hundred or so people.
It was rare to see a recruitment session like Lin Feng’s, which had packed the large conference room to the brim.
It was a testament to Lin Feng’s popularity on campus and how eager everyone was to work for his company.
"Where are the other two?"
Lin Feng glanced toward the stage in the conference room but didn’t see Jiang Chao or Cao Ming.
Yang Qiniang came over to Lin Feng’s side. "They’re in charge of the presentation later, so they’re probably practicing in some quiet corner."
"Those two are shouldering the main responsibility for this recruitment fair."
Lin Feng nodded.
Suddenly, he turned to Yang Qiniang, a smile spreading across his face.
The look sent a shiver down Yang Qiniang’s spine. He instinctively hugged himself and asked, "Brother Feng, why are you smiling like that? It’s creepy!"
"It’s a bright, sunny day, but you’re giving me the chills."
Lin Feng patted Yang Qiniang on the head. "You’re overthinking things. When I look at you right now, I see fifty million."
"Fifty million?"
Yang Qiniang was completely baffled.
Lin Feng had no intention of keeping him in the dark. "When we first founded the company, your dad threw fifty million into it."
"I had you take that fifty million and invest it so you could get some practice using your dad’s money."
"I met with your dad this morning and showed him the financial report on the returns from your fifty-million investment."
Hearing this, Yang Qiniang’s eyes widened. "What? You showed my dad my investment report card!"
Lin Feng laughed, seeing Yang Qiniang bristle like a startled cat.
Since the damage was done, Yang Qiniang calmed down and grew more concerned about his father’s reaction.
He sidled up to Lin Feng. "What did my dad say? Did he yell at me again?"
Lin Feng shook his head with a smile. "Your dad was actually very satisfied with your performance. He was so happy that he just gave the fifty million to our company!"
At this, a pained expression appeared on Yang Qiniang’s face. "For my dad to be so extravagant... it just makes him seem like a fool with too much money!"
After enjoying Yang Qiniang’s colorful expression for a moment, Lin Feng said seriously, "Okay, I’ll stop teasing you. I don’t plan on pocketing the money for myself."
"You’ve put a lot of effort into our company since its founding, and your dad contributed the funds."
"Compared to the capital the company has now, that fifty million isn’t a huge amount."
"But when it comes to dividing the shares, I won’t treat you unfairly."
"So tell me, how many shares do you want."
Lin Feng intentionally put the decision in Yang Qiniang’s hands.
In truth, Lin Feng knew that Yang Tianming didn’t take back the fifty million because he hoped it would be used for Yang Qiniang’s benefit.
And Lin Feng had seen all of Yang Qiniang’s hard work, from the initial preparations to everything that followed.
Lin Feng had no intention of short-changing his brother.
But faced with this situation, Yang Qiniang was at a bit of a loss.
Looking uncharacteristically embarrassed, he scratched his head and said, "Honestly, whether it was raising the initial funds or managing the capital later on..."
"...weren’t you the one doing all the work, Brother Feng?"
"All I did was poach a few of my dad’s employees. When it came to actually growing the capital, I didn’t really do anything."
"If you’re talking about who really did the work, it was you, Brother Feng. You’re the core of this company!"
"I don’t know how many shares I should take..."
"How about this: I’ll take whatever you give me. I don’t really care either way."
"Besides, I’m inheriting my dad’s company with my sister someday anyway..."
At this, Yang Qiniang let out a couple of silly laughs.
Yang Qiniang was speaking from the heart.
In his eyes, Lin Feng had single-handedly propped up the entire company.
Whether it was their operations in the Celestial Stock Market or the United States’ stock market, it was all Lin Feng’s doing.
Without some of Lin Feng’s unorthodox investment strategies, the company definitely wouldn’t be at its current scale.
Besides, an investment company with employees and capital but no core figure to run things is just an empty shell.
So Yang Qiniang genuinely believed that Lin Feng was the one who had put in all the real work.
When it came to the shares, Yang Qiniang didn’t want to squabble over them.
It was just as he’d said in his last sentence.
He still had Yang Tianming’s family fortune to inherit.
Yang Qiniang wasn’t short on cash.
Lin Feng clapped Yang Qiniang on the shoulder. "Since you put it that way, I definitely won’t short-change you."
"Right now, the company is operating with about 700 million in capital."
"Since your dad doesn’t want the fifty million back, I’ll count it as your partnership investment."
"I’ll give you five percent of the shares. In the future, with that equity, you’ll get dividends even if you aren’t working on the projects."
Lin Feng had intentionally given him a little extra.
Otherwise, based on the ratio of his fifty million investment, Yang Qiniang would have gotten two or three percent of the shares at most.
Yang Qiniang wasn’t particularly concerned about the specifics of the shares anyway.
He thought five percent was great.
"Sounds good to me. Let’s do that."
Yang Qiniang broke into a smile.
In reality, even though Lin Feng only gave Yang Qiniang five percent of the shares...
...the future dividends from that five percent would be substantial.
After all, Lin Feng’s company was still just in its startup phase.
And in this startup phase, it had already seen sevenfold growth in a single month.
So once the company had been operating for a while and entered a stable period...
...its scale would be far beyond what it was now.
