Becoming a God Starts with Acting
Chapter 578: Carnival of Desire [10]
"You rotten, twisted abominations..." Ember stood in front of the iron cage, his fingers lightly stroking the handle of his chain-wrapped whip. A fierce murderous intent flashed in his amber eyes.
"Everyone, get back," Adrian’s voice rang telepathically through the minds of both Ember and Nick. His tone retained its usual elegant, lazy quality, yet there was an unmistakable warning beneath it.
The instant he finished speaking, Adrian’s enormous body lunged forward as well.
BANG! CLINK CLINK!
Adrian’s tail twisted through the air, slamming straight into the first group of Pastors charging toward them.
BOOM!
A violent explosion shook the entire sandy arena. The Pastors were blown apart like rotten watermelons, gray blood spraying wildly into the air.
At the same time, Ember raised his hand and looked ahead, murmuring a prayer to the supreme god Erebus, begging him to bestow upon him unstoppable power.
In an instant, magical flames erupted, engulfing the entire space in the blink of an eye. They burned through everything—from flesh and blood to shattered bones. Even those in the stands were not spared.
The flames raged without discrimination, burning everything in their path.
The artists in the stands could not help but scream.
Lily and her team were especially terrified. She could feel that whenever the flames reached her, they became even more powerful and vicious.
Fortunately, as the Pastors’ combat power weakened, the energy restraining them gradually disappeared as well, allowing them to struggle free and escape from this place.
[So this is the power of Erebus?!]
[Ember has truly changed completely.]
[As expected, fire really suits him. What a perfect combination!]
[This fire can even affect the believers of Themisia!]
[I knew Erebus was powerful. Now no one can look down on him as a new god anymore, hahaha!]
Nick quietly raised his hand, watching the flames lick across his body without causing him the slightest injury.
He clenched his fist, but he still could not grasp the flames in his hand.
By this point, the puppets had also burst into flames. Carrying enormous tongues of fire, they writhed frantically, their tattered bodies twisting into grotesque, gigantic forms as they rapidly rushed downward.
Nick let out a sigh, but his hands moved as fast as lightning. With a wave of his hand, several small dark portals immediately appeared, swallowing the puppets’ bodies.
Some of the faster puppets still managed to slip through, continuing to wail as they charged forward.
SNAP... BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
SMACK! SMACK! SMACK!
After their first assault was stopped dead in its tracks, the pack of Pastor wolves began forming a circle around their prey, sealing off every possible escape route. They no longer charged in individually. Instead, they all opened the blood-gray-stained mouths of their grotesque Pastor heads in unison.
"Prayer Glasses... The Miserable Dirge!"
A dark-gray sonic wave, saturated with an overwhelming mental corruption, erupted from the throats of dozens of wolves, forming a spiraling storm of sound that surged straight toward the center of the stage. Wherever the storm passed, the sand of the arena floor was raked into deep, jagged furrows, while the air itself seemed to be torn apart, emitting a horrifying, mournful shriek.
From the stands, Lily felt the sonic wave strike her mind like thousands of needles piercing straight into her brain. She clenched her teeth until fresh blood welled from her gums, desperately struggling to keep her consciousness from collapsing.
Yet standing at the very center of the storm, Adrian’s enormous divine form remained as immovable as a towering golden mountain.
Adrian slowly spread his colossal wings. One after another, ancient golden magical characters began blazing along his spine, spreading across the entire length of his massive body. The overwhelming pressure of a higher-order mythical creature erupted, crushing the surrounding space until it seemed to solidify into a region of absolute vacuum.
"Your cheap little game of tearing flesh apart... ends here, Jack."
The voice that came from the colossal creature carried a hint of amusement, yet it was colder than any blade.
Adrian raised his head high. His powerful neck swelled as a terrifying wave of heat began to blaze within it. The Dragon Breath pouring from Adrian’s mouth transformed into a deep golden stream of holy light, engulfing the entire arena floor!
ROOOOOOOAR...!!!
The brilliant golden light devoured the entire corrupted sonic wave released by the Pastor wolf pack. Within that radiance, the wolves’ agonized, pitiful screams rang out before quickly being drowned out. Their gaunt, iron-armored bodies and grotesque Pastor heads erupted into golden flames, shattering into countless black specks of ash before they could even touch the dragon’s scales.
In less than three seconds, more than fifty savage Pastor wolves had been completely erased from the earth, leaving behind not even a single drop of polluted gray blood!
The entire circus fell into a silence so profound it was suffocating.
The golden light slowly faded away, sweeping clean the entire circus as it vanished. The canvas canopy overhead had been burned to ashes, revealing the gray sky above.
The arena floor was perfectly flat and spotless, without a single stain. Adrian leisurely folded his wings, then shook his body once, instantly returning to his human form. The hem of his coat fluttered slightly. Around him, shimmering golden dust particles floated in the air, drifting down to the ground and forming patches of brilliant color. They reflected the light back onto him, making his hair seem even more radiant, while his features appeared to have been painted with a divine glow.
His gaze turned toward the raised platform, where Ringmaster Jack stood dumbfounded, the giant iron scissors in his hand trembling violently.
[I know he’s handsome, but does he really have to be THIS handsome?!!!]
[Whether he’s in human form or snake form, he’s insanely beautiful!]
[Silvanus, hurry back, or I’m seriously going to fall for Adrian!]
On the chests of Adrian’s group, their Satisfaction Point counters kept ticking upward like crazy, finally stopping at a perfect, vivid green: 100.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
Ringmaster Jack took a step backward, his legs trembling so badly that he could barely remain standing. The number on his chest (-200) plummeted uncontrollably, turning pitch-black with a cracking effect: -999.
"No... No way... My performance..." Ringmaster Jack muttered in utter panic.
Adrian raised his hand and crooked one finger. Jack’s entire body was immediately seized by some unseen force and violently dragged forward.
With a heavy thud, both of his knees slammed onto the ground before Adrian.
"Your script is absolutely terrible," Adrian said softly, his voice carrying the utmost mockery. He slowly extended his hand, holding it out in front of Jack...
