Becoming a Saint From the Iron Armor Skill
Chapter 669: The Hunter’s Delight
Ning Hao had clearly misunderstood again, assuming the Dali Alliance had failed to hunt the Pseudo Tier Six Demon Beast at the Kan Palace Array Hub.
He thought Xiao Yingluo was staring toward the center of Lake Heart Island out of frustration.
Ning Hao was aloof and arrogant, and he rarely took a liking to any woman.
If one had to be named, it would naturally be Lingxiao Fairy Ji Lingxiao.
But now, there was another: Xiao Yingluo.
In fact, from Ning Hao’s perspective, the Xiao Yingluo before him possessed the coquettish charm of a young woman awakening to love, making her far more intriguing than the aloof and unattainable Ji Lingxiao.
‘I’m used to fighting alone, but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to show off my skills in front of a beauty and capture her heart.’
‘Besides, that Demon Cultivator who entered the cave mansion is a real headache. I could use some people to act as backup while I deal with him.’
With this thought, Ning Hao smiled faintly and said,
“Everyone, you must have come here to hunt the Pseudo Tier Six Demon Beast at the Array Hub, correct?”
“As it happens, I have the same intention. Why don’t we do it together?”
“I will only take the Demon Heart. We can all split the other Demon Beast Materials evenly. How does that sound?”
Everyone exchanged glances, their expressions growing increasingly bizarre. Even Xiao Yingluo turned her head back, her fiery gaze fixed on Ning Hao.
Ning Hao seemed to have misunderstood yet again. He gave a carefree smile and said with false modesty,
“This Pseudo Tier Six Demon Beast must be quite tricky, but I should be able to lend some strength. With all of you cooperating, we should be able to slay it.”
“Furthermore, aside from the Pseudo Tier Six Demon Beast at the Kan Palace Array Hub, I can also join you in hunting the beasts in other locations.”
“If we encounter members of other alliances, whether we’re hunting Pseudo Tier Six Demon Beasts or competing for resources, our odds of success will be much greater.”
In his mind, he was the strongest person in the cave mansion aside from Ji Lingxiao. His willingness to team up with the people from the Dali Alliance was an act of condescension, a huge gesture of respect. They should have been welcoming him with open arms.
However, this was clearly just wishful thinking on his part.
The members of the Dali Alliance remained silent.
Ke Dali’s plump face twitched, and he asked with a dark expression, “Divine Son Ning, are you saying you want to join the Dali Alliance?”
After a moment’s thought, Ning Hao put on a reluctant expression and said,
“I’m not opposed to forming an alliance, but if we do, wouldn’t it be better to change the name?”
“The Dali Alliance is named after Brother Ke, which sounds a bit odd. How about we change it to the Sun and Moon Alliance?”
“Also, I’ve heard that one must pay a fee to join the Dali Alliance. That doesn’t seem right. From now on, the Sun and Moon Alliance will do away with that rule.”
“Ha!” Ke Dali was so angry he laughed. He clutched his stomach and cackled for a long time before looking Ning Hao straight in the eye and saying, word by word,
“You want to join the Dali Alliance? Fine. The entry fee is at least two Demon Hearts. Otherwise, forget it!”
“Furthermore, I, Master Ke, call the shots in the Dali Alliance. Whether or not the name gets changed is my decision, not yours. It’s not your place to be telling me what to do!”
Ning Hao was stunned. He couldn’t fathom where Ke Dali got the audacity to disrespect him so brazenly.
It was true that Ke Dali also possessed a Yellow Tier Spiritual Artifact, but it was merely a defensive shield, of very limited use when hunting a Pseudo Tier Six Demon Beast.
When real power was needed, they would have to rely on an aggressive, lethal Yellow Tier Spiritual Artifact like his Sun and Moon Mirror Light Sword.
“Brother Ke, you can’t be serious?”
Ning Hao’s face fell, and he spoke with clear displeasure.
Ke Dali sneered. “You’re the one who was joking.”
Ning Hao suddenly realized something. It seemed these people didn’t welcome him.
Even though his strength was second only to Ji Lingxiao, and allying with him meant they would be backed by a true expert.
They had greeted him with smiles and pleasantries, but it was all just surface-level courtesy. He probably wasn’t welcome here at all!
With this in mind, he scanned the group once more. They all still had those strange expressions, and not a single person spoke up to try and mediate with Ke Dali.
“Have you already slain the Pseudo Tier Six Demon Beast here?” Ning Hao’s expression turned cold.
Since these people didn’t know what was good for them, there was no need for him to be polite any longer.
The group remained silent.
“No,” Ke Dali replied flatly, his own expression turning frigid.
Ning Hao was puzzled. If they hadn’t killed the Pseudo Tier Six Demon Beast, then Ke Dali and the Dali Alliance had even less reason to reject his powerful assistance.
“The Pseudo Tier Six Demon Beast on Lake Heart Island has already been claimed by Young Master Xiu Chen,” Ke Dali added. “If you value your life, Divine Son Ning, you’d best leave at once.”
He was clearly fanning the flames.
“Young Master Xiu Chen?” Ning Hao scoffed. “And who might he be, to act with such arrogance?”
“Young Master Xiu Chen is a scion of one of the great Noble Families from the Central State. His Martial Arts Power is exceptionally formidable, so a bit of arrogance is to be expected.”
Ke Dali spouted casually.
But his small, round eyes narrowed, already imagining the scene of Ning Hao fighting that pretty boy, Xiu Chen.
Ning Hao finally understood. Ke Dali had been trying to instigate a fight between him and this Young Master Xiu Chen all along. He was just an instigator who enjoyed the drama.
But Ning Hao didn’t care. When it came to a one-on-one fight, he really wasn’t afraid of some young master from a great Noble Family of the Central State.
“I’d like to see for myself just how formidable this arrogant Young Master Xiu Chen’s Martial Arts Power really is!”
With a cold snort, Ning Hao’s figure flickered, and he sped toward the interior of the island.
He didn’t move at top speed. For one, he was scanning the island’s terrain to prevent any sneak attacks.
For another, he intentionally wanted the group to follow so they could watch him thrash this Xiu Chen and get a proper display of his power.
That would teach those Dali Alliance members not to underestimate his strength!
“Let’s go. Let’s go back and watch the show.”
Ke Dali laughed heartily and gestured for the group to follow Ning Hao from a safe distance.
“Senior Brother Ke, why did you stir up trouble for Senior Brother Xiu Chen with such a powerful foe?” Xiao Yingluo sidled up to Ke Dali and grumbled in a low voice.
“Whether he’s a dragon or a worm, we’ll only know after they fight,” Ke Dali chuckled. He then winked at Xiao Yingluo and whispered,
“Junior Sister Xiao, don’t you want to see if this Senior Brother Xiu Chen you’re so smitten with is all looks and no substance?”
“Hmph! I’m not listening to you!” Xiao Yingluo huffed, though her heart was filled with curiosity.
She wasn’t worried that Senior Brother Xiu Chen would be killed by Ning Hao, of course, but she was curious whether Xiu Chen could actually win.
In fact, she secretly hoped Senior Brother Xiu Chen would unleash his divine might and defeat the insufferably arrogant Kunlun Divine Son, Ning Hao!
That would be a man worthy of her, Xiao Yingluo’s, admiration!
Before long, Ning Hao arrived at the edge of the Cold Pool. When he saw the figure in green robes standing gracefully in the center of the pool—a figure of such breathtaking beauty—he couldn’t help but freeze for a moment.
Then, his gaze hardened.
He really hated men who were more beautiful than women.
The man was currently shouldering a massive hammer and holding a snow spirit ginseng, which he was nibbling on in small bites.
This snow spirit ginseng was as thick as a baby’s arm, pure white, and plump. It faintly exuded a dense Qi Blood Power. At over a thousand years old, it was a top-tier Organ Refining Internal Medicine Herb!
You would be lucky to find even ten of them in the entire Fog Concealment Cave Mansion.
Such medicinal materials were typically used to create Low Grade Organ Refining Pills or carefully processed into an Herbal Decoction in a Medicine Furnace to maximize their effects when refining one’s organs.
To just nibble on it raw like this, while certainly a great way to replenish one’s Qi Blood Power, was an outrageous waste of a priceless treasure!
Even Ning Hao, the Divine Son of the Kunlun Divine Palace, would never be so extravagant!
‘Have the resources of the scions from the great Noble Families of the Central State really reached such an absurd level?’
Ning Hao decided he would teach this wasteful brat a lesson.
His gaze sharpened, and he said coldly, “You’re Xiu Chen?”
Chen Cheng had long anticipated the arrival of other experts, which was why he was unhesitatingly eating the snow spirit ginseng to replenish his Qi Blood Power and maintain his peak condition.
Seeing the people from the Dali Alliance return to watch from afar, Chen Cheng could more or less guess their intentions.
‘It seems I was too soft-hearted, not ruthless enough,’ he thought. ‘Otherwise, why would these people from the Dali Alliance dare to return just to watch the show?’
With that thought, Chen Cheng carefully sized up Ning Hao, his gaze focused on the Sun and Moon Mirror Light Sword at his waist.
That was a Yellow Tier Spiritual Artifact, something even an Innate Realm Expert would rarely possess. If he could obtain it, his own combat strength would increase enormously.
He could even contend with an ordinary Puncture Realm expert!
‘With my current strength, I wonder if I can kill Ning Hao and take his Sun and Moon Mirror Light Sword for myself to study?’
Chen Cheng’s gaze grew heated, and a devilishly charming smile spread across his handsome face. The thrill of a hunter spotting its prey was truly exhilarating!
