Beg Me Like You Mean It, Captain
Chapter 82: I’ve been holding my pee since I woke up
Once the tension from the call settled, Reid’s nose twitched. The rich, savory aroma of the stew I had been simmering finally registered, and he looked over toward the kitchen table where I had just finished setting up the plates.
A slow, arrogant grin spread across his handsome face. "Oh my... you work well as a chef, Cap. Though, if I’m being honest, I’d rather eat you up."
My hand froze over the silverware, and I instantly shot him a sharp, panicked glare, my eyes darting toward the phone on the couch.
I was taken aback, my heart doing a nervous stutter. What if his mother was still on the line and had just heard that foul-mouthed piece of commentary?
Seeing my reaction, Reid let out a low chuckle. He picked up the phone, turning the screen toward me to show it was completely black. "Relax. It’s dead."
I let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding, my jaw clenching. "You’re too reckless, McCoy. Seriously. Just shut up and eat."
"I’d love to," Reid muttered, his expression shifting into a slight, genuine grimace as he tried to shift his position. "But I actually need to use the bathroom first. I’ve been holding my pee since I woke up."
He braced his hands against the sofa, preparing to push himself up, and my captain’s brain immediately went on high alert. No physical exertion. If he tried to hop on one foot while half-dazed and heavy from a fever, he was bound to slip and put pressure on that compromised ligament by accident.
"Don’t move," I commanded, setting the towels down. "I’ll help you."
I walked back over to the sofa, ignoring the smug, victorious glint that instantly returned to his smoky grey eyes.
Leaning down, I draped his arm over my shoulders, wrapping my own arm firmly around his solid waist to anchor him.
With a grunt, I hoisted him up. The sheer mass of his Alpha frame was staggering, and the moment his full weight leaned into me, I had to plant my feet hard into the rug to keep us both stable.
Reid let out a rough laugh right against my ear, his hot breath fanning my neck as we began to slowly head toward the bathroom.
"Damn, Cap," he rumbled, his voice dripping with that insufferable amusement. "For an Omega, you’ve got great stamina and strength. You’re holding me up like it’s nothing."
I didn’t break my stride, my grip on his waist tightening as we reached the bathroom door.
"I worked hard to get this," I said, my voice cutting through the space, flat and unyielding. "I wasn’t born with it like you Alphas or Betas. My body is naturally weaker, more fragile. So I had to work twice as hard—thrice even—every single day, just to build up strength and stamina, so I could stand on the same ice with the rest of you blessed bodied pricks."
I stopped, turning my head slightly so I could look directly into his eyes. My gaze was fierce, burning with the absolute gravity of every sacrifice, every hidden heat, and every grueling hour of training I had endured to survive in a league that wasn’t built for me.
"I wouldn’t have gotten this captain position if I were a wuss, McCoy," I bit out, my eyes locking onto his with a dangerous intensity. "Remember that."
"Fiesty," he muttered over a chuckle but something told me my words registered.
When we finally got to the toilet seat, I held him in place while he slightly pulled down his sweat pants to take out his cock. This was kind of uncomfortable.
I turned my head away to fix on the tiles, the shaker head, anything that was not the process of urine spilling out of his cock. But nothing could block my ears from hearing the embarrassing trickling sounds of his urine into the bowl. It was taking a while. Just how long had he been holding his bladder?
"By the way, Cap," Reid called out, still peeing. "I noticed you don’t have any hair down there. Are all Omegas like that?"
My face immediately reddened and my heart spiked. Just... What sort of question was that?
"Shut the fuck up and finish your business, McCoy," I hissed, my face burning so hot I was certain it was matching the color of a tomato.
I kept my eyes violently glued to the white tiles on the bathroom wall, my jaw clenched so tightly it ached.
It was humiliating enough that I had to act as a human crutch while he relieved himself, but this absolute menace didn’t possess a single shred of decency.
The steady, torturously loud trickling sound finally tapered off. Reid let out a long, thoroughly satisfied sigh, completely unbothered by my brewing fury.
"Just asking a logistical question, Cap," he rumbled as he pulled his sweatpants back up. He leaned a bit of his massive weight back into my side, his shoulder brushing mine as he settled his arm securely over my neck again. "No need to get your panties in a twist. Though, I guess you aren’t wearing any right now, are you?"
"One more word," I breathed, turning my head to glare at him with absolute, homicidal intent, "and I will drop you right here on your pathetic ankle. I don’t care what Marcus says."
Reid just smirked, his smoky grey eyes entirely dark and gleeful as he looked down at me.
The fierce, defensive speech I had given him just minutes ago about my strength seemed to have only fueled his amusement, making him eager to push every single one of my buttons just to see how far my limits went.
But beneath the snark, his skin was still a little too warm, his breathing slightly heavier than normal as he watched his hand in the sink.
"Alright, alright. I’ll behave," he muttered, though the lazy drag of his voice said otherwise.
As we got back to the living room, he said, "I feel like I’ll get banned from the table if I make one more remark but the food smells too good for me to get banned. So, I’ll shut up."
Thank you.
I carefully guided him over to one of the sturdy dining chairs instead of the low sofa, making sure he could keep his left leg elevated on a matching stool I had pulled out earlier.
The moment his heavy frame sank into the chair, I stepped back, finally letting my own aching shoulders relax as I went to fetch the bowls of hot stew.
"Eat," I said, setting the steaming dish right in front of him alongside a glass of fresh water—making sure to place it well out of his immediate grasping range this time. "And keep your mouth occupied with something that isn’t complete garbage."
