Chapter 336: Chapter 336: Sexual Frustration.

"Is fighting him... hah ... always like that?" Montrel pants, and Rogard hums thoughtfully, playfully kicking his legs.

"Hmm? Oh, no ," he teases airily, "Loac never goes that easy on us."

It says something that Montrel doesn’t even have the strength left to hit him.

"...At least he waited until Xena left to make you look bad?" Rogard offers, and gets an exhausted glare in return.

"Yeah, yeah, big hearted him ," he grumbles as he joins the ranks of the mighty vanquished on the ground beside them and settles in to watch the next round of sacrificial pawns.

There’s four of them in the ring now, circling their prince with their swords drawn.

It’s obvious that Drogger’s seen what’s going on, and where usually he might intervene –against anyone else four on one would be considered poor sportsmanship –today he lets it slide because the men seem particularly fired up, and against Loac it looks almost like it could be a fair fight.

(It’s not.)

And as Loac gestures for them to go right ahead, Rogard spares a glance across at Khobi to find him absolutely fixated on the figures in the ring; red eyes blown wide and his hands clenched tight on the wooden fence they’re perched like he’s physically having to hold himself back from diving right in.

He’s not to know it, but Rogard’s not far wrong.

Because Khobi’s not sure what’s gotten into Loac or why he’s throwing himself into training like a man possessed, but whatever it is he could watch it for hours and never tire of it.

He’s usually all sorts of incredible, but he’s been fighting with a level of primal aggression that even just watching has him burning white hot and and itching to climb in and take him on and try and topple him at such heights.

To face that devastating heat head on and witness the sparks in his eyes alight like wildfire.

Watching him take down Jaga was fucking magnificent .

And while the four soldiers in the ring with him right now aren’t going to be nearly enough to take him down, they make him move , and he can’t help but drink in every moment; devouring the sight of Loac weaving across the dirt, halting and flicking aside their blades so effortlessly.

They’re trained soldiers --and good ones, at that --and four on one they’re not doing terribly; coming at him all at once and working together to catch him in awkward angles, but really pinning him down is still like trying to catch a leaf on the wind with their hands.

Whatever they come at him with, he just breezes up and away, whispering close to taunt them and then whisking away just when they think they have him in their grasp.

But his expression is serious –oddly focused, even –and even though it’s not been so long since last they fought, Khobi still finds himself yearning to have his eyes on him like that.

" So cool ," he breathes aloud, and doesn’t even realise the words have slipped out.

"Hey , Khobi , if you’re gonna undress your fiance with your eyes could you be like, just a little more discreet about it?" Gandy drawls obnoxiously from where he’s perched limply on the fence, drenched in sweat like the rest of them and looking shattered.

Khobi damn near falls right off the fence in surprise; he hadn’t even noticed he was there. "I’m feeling indecent here."

The words suddenly sink in and Khobi’s eyes bug.

"What the –what is with you these days?" he exclaims hotly, because seriously? He wasn’t undressing him , he was just...just watching, is all.

" –I could ask you the same thing," Rogard chimes slyly from his other side, leaning way too close to Khobi’s face and narrowing his eyes intently, "Coz I know you said you guys didn’t fu –"

" We didn’t ," Khobi heaves before he can finish that sentence.

There’s only so many times and so many ways he can say it; seriously, how are these guys still going on about tha–

" –But are you sure you don’t want to ?"

" What the fuck, Rogard ?" Khobi splutters immediately, drawing up with blazing indignation and promptly pushing him off the fence.

Gandy too, for laughing. "Why would you --actually, forget it; I don’t need to listen to this!" And then, with red flooding to his neck –in anger, obviously in anger –he obstinately flings himself off his perch, and storms off to watch someone else.

Although given that Loac’s still in the ring, Rogard has the suspicion that it’s only going to be a matter of time before he finds his way back .

"Aw, don’t go Khobi~" Rogard calls after him from where he’s lying in a crumpled, upside-down heap, "Loac will be sad~" It’s hard to tell from the angle he’s landed at but he gets the distinct impression that Khobi flips his middle finger at him.

"...What do you reckon, Gandy?" he inquires of Gandy, who has landed in the mud beside him with his legs comically up round his head.

"Hmm," he hums wryly, "...Kinda seemed like a yes to me."

It takes a moment to right themselves again, but when they do, two of Loac’s opponents are on their asses and the other two are disarmed, and the prince himself is staring at Khobi’s back, watching him go.

...

Loac’s bad mood continues to persist.

The soldiers have never worked harder in their lives, but by the third day, even the most resilient of them are on the brink of despair.

"...Can those two just hurry up and fuck already?" Gandy heaves, slumping heavily against the fence with sweat pouring down his face and desperation in his eyes, "...I dunno how much more of Loac’s sexual frustration my body can take."

...

Three nights ago, Loac had a dream.

Ever since then, it’s all he’s been able to think about.

It was after the fight. After that moment in the bathroom having felt Khobi shudder under his touch, and having his hands ghosting over his body in turn; agonisingly, tantalisingly close and yet still so far from what he really wanted.

What he needed . And he needed Khobi; needed to run his fingers down the contours of his body and make him shiver, and map the scars on his body with his hands and his teeth until he knew them by heart.
