Chapter 392: Chapter 392: Sexy Cake Thief

It’s the first time that’s ever happened, and for a single, gut-wrenching second there Khobi is horrified that he’s done something wrong ; overstepped this weird, wafer-thin line between secret and open secret that they’ve been toeing.

And with his heart plummeting to his feet like it’s been shot clean out of his chest, Khobi abruptly pulls back to find Loac frozen stiff as a board; his eyes blown impossibly wide and his dusky skin stained with a deep, delicious red that spreads and spreads before his very eyes.

He looks absolutely shellshocked – like Khobi’s just punched him instead of kissed him.

The sinking feeling evaporates, and suddenly Khobi kind of wants to laugh because this is the man with a mouth so filthy he can practically talk him to orgasm, and here he is, blushing like a virgin over a little kiss.

But instead of laughing, he leans in and does it again. Just because. ℯℯ𝘭.

"...What are you doing?" Loac asks him quietly; the words forming light and breathless against Khobi’s lips.

"Kissing you," Khobi replies, even though he kind of thought that was obvious. He’s glad for how casually it comes out. "...It’d be nice if you y’know, kissed me back." He thinks that’s fair of him to ask.

It’s not like it’s a weird request, given how much they’ve already kissed before. And how clearly he’d been wanting him to do it in the first place.

A soft chuckle falls against Khobi’s skin, and when Loac dips in and lightly brushes his lips against his in return, he suddenly understands why he froze.

If he’d kissed him out of nowhere like this –so simple and innocent –he wouldn’t know what to do either.

Another slow kiss starts just as the first is fading, and then another, and then one of Loac’s hands comes up to cup his jaw and he’s kissing him harder and deeper, and Khobi definitely knows what to do with that. His hands curl into the fabric of his shirt, reeling him in so that he can snake an arm around his waist while the other finds its rightful spot in Loac’s hair.

Is it meant to be this easy, kissing him?

Is it meant to feel this good? Khobi kissed other people before but never really like this, and even then it’s never been quite so electric; never felt so... natural .

And for as infuriating as Loac can be, when he kisses him like this he never wants him to stop.

One of Loac’s hands slips down to cup the curvature of his ass, and when Khobi’s back hits the bench behind him, he dimly realises what a convenient height it is and that it feels a lot sturdier than the table in the bedroom.

And Loac’s leaning down into him now like he’s thinking the same thing, except that –

Hang on .

What’s his other hand doing?

–Going for the honeycakes, is what.

"Oi, get away from those –" Khobi declares hotly, tearing away from Loac’s lips and shooting out a hand to catch his wrist before he manages to get his fingers on the damn things.

Loac makes an annoyed sound through his teeth that he feels on the underside of his jaw.

" –Ahh, hard luck, Loac. You were so close~" a familiar voice chimes in impishly, and Khobi immediately looks over his shoulder in alarm to find an equally familiar face sitting on the other side of the bench, grey eyes glinting.

" Binny ?"

"Oh, don’t mind me," Binny remarks conversationally, munching on something. One of the custard puddings, Khobi dimly realises.

" How long have you been there ?" he demands, suddenly acutely aware of the lack of space between his body and Loac’s. He gives him an insistent push to try and separate them, and with a scowl Loac reluctantly backs out of his personal space.

From the patient way Binny swallows his mouthful and replies, "A while," the damage has already been done. Khobi swallows, too.

"...How much did you see?" he croaks, and the conscious neutrality in Binny’s expression is mildly concerning.

"A bit."

Enough .

There are also significantly fewer puddings on the tray than Khobi remembers there being.

"...How much food have you stolen?" he demands suspiciously.

Binny’s composure starts to crack.

" Some ."

A lot, then .

Khobi leans heavily onto the bench, face feeling warm and his pants feeling considerably tighter than they were when he came down here.

Then he wordlessly reaches out and takes one of the puddings for himself. Because what do you say when one of your friends catches you with someone’s tongue down your throat? He hasn’t exactly had it happen before.

"...Let me guess ..." Binny remarks impishly, eyebrows shooting high and his grey eyes glinting, " It’s not what it looks like ." He’s mocking him, obviously he is, but it also feels like a bail out, in a way.

But when Khobi shoots a furtive look at Loac, sulking on the edge of the bench –he gets the strangest sense that there’s a right answer and a wrong answer to this question.

What’s the harm?

Binny already knows they’re fucking.

And Khobi started it, didn’t he?

"...No," he says slowly, contemplatively taking a bite of the pudding in an effort to disguise the flush starting to fan out across his face, "...You saw right."

Just saying it out loud makes him embarrassed, too. Especially with how big Binny’s grinning at him.

And for whatever reason, Loac seems to take that as permission to kiss him again. Which, in a way it kind of was.

Khobi accepts the kiss but doesn’t fall for the trap this time.

"Don’t worry, I nicked a couple for you," Binny states, casually tossing Loac one of the custard puddings as he gets bodily directed away from the sweets before they all disappear before they’ve so much as finished cooling.

"...Did you know he was here the whole time?" Khobi accuses, as Loac deftly plucks it out of the air with one hand.

"Mhmm," he hums easily, smugly taking a bite and waggling the rest of it in Khobi’s face. (Well there’s a mortifying thought.)

Then he pokes Khobi in the forehead, "Y’know, you should really start paying more attention."

"Tsk, I don’t wanna hear that shit from you ," Khobi scoffs, batting his hand away and making it abundantly clear with a heated glower that if he tries to shove his sticky pudding fingers in his face again, he’ll lose one.

" – Oo-kay , I think that’s enough," Binny decides unceremoniously, hoisting himself out of his seat, "We have a tea party to get to."

"We do?" Khobi raises an eyebrow. If he does, this is the first he’s heard of it.

"No, we ," Binny corrects, jerking his thumb over to where his sister is dutifully stacking away some of the puddings into an already overflowing basket.

Khobi didn’t even see her take the things, let alone when she managed to wrap the honeycakes in pretty paper.

It’s starting to feel like there’s some secret conspiracy against him at work here.

Or , he can only sigh as he sees Binny toss Loac another stolen treat, maybe not so secret .

" –You bringin’ those or what?" Binny inquires, basket in hand and his sister gathering up the tray of tea that’s somehow materialised out of nowhere.

He nods towards the honeycakes, safely wrapped up from wandering hands and sitting on the most breakable looking plate Khobi’s ever seen in his life.

"...Sure," Khobi grimaces, gingerly picking up the plate with both hands. Even just holding it feels enough to snap it in two. How it’s even holding the weight of the honeycakes is a mystery.

" –Wait, did you just say you were headed to the stables ?"

"Sure did," Binny replies easily, like that’s not at all weird. Khobi immediately regrets saying he’d help –there’s absolutely no way he makes it all the way to the stables without breaking this plate.

And if Loac comes within six goddamned feet of him he’s getting kicked, no questions asked.

"... Who has a tea party at the stables ?"

Montrel , apparently.

He should’ve known.
