A hand reached up for his leaf shaped ear, and grabbed it tightly.
“Please…”
“Da bol goh ohdamo,” Xarot said, his hand moving from his father’s ear, up to his hair, the boy’s eyes falling across his father’s hair.
“The ball is gone?”
“Yeah.”
“Oh no.”
“Oh no!”
“Oh dear.”
“Oh dia.”
“What a shame.”
“Wazame.”
“Do you want daddy to get you a new ball, Xarot?”
“Yeah!”
Adam turned his head, towards little Pamarot, who glared towards him. Her eyes took him into her sights, the girl continued to glare towards him, long and hard, but as she turned her head due to the shadow, she came across another she glared upon.
“My kaza?” Virot asked, pointing down at Pamarot, who stared at the finger tip and reached up for it, but it was gone, returning to Virot’s cup.
“She is like Damrot to you, for she is Damrot’s kaka,” Jirot explained.
“Oh!” Virot replied, nodding her head. “My kaka?”
“Of coas!”
“O’coas!” Virot replied, and she reached down to brush the girl’s cheek gently. “My gosh! Kaka so cute! So cute!”
‘I should have expected that,’ Adam thought.
‘My kaka is so cute,’ Jirot thought, watching the girl from her side. Her heart swelled lightly, and as she closed her eyes, she accepted the last winds of noonval upon her.
Virot brushed the girl’s hair and then waddled off, while Damrot peeked down at his sister, blowing a kiss towards her, then followed his cousin, who he called cousin, away. Little Jarot waved towards Xarot, who squealed and hid his head within his father’s chest and as he returned, he found his elder brother walking off, but Jarot turned his head suddenly, and the two met one another’s gaze, and the boy squealed with delight and hid his head once more.
“Don’t you know? He’s my son too!” Adam cackled, holding his son’s cheeks.
“Yeah!”
Xarot was Jirot’s brother, and did not actually mean he wished for the ball, but thankfully Adam had forgotten, and since Xarot was Adam’s son, he, too, had forgotten. Especially when the boy cuddled against his father’s chest, suckling his thumb, his free hand grasping his father’s collar.
Adam lay under his son, brushing his hair gently, the boy’s eyes half glazed. ‘Xarot…’
Adam closed his eyes and considered how Xarot had come to him. At that time, when he had been born, he had been so glad. Of course, of coas, for he, before he had claimed his martial epithet, had already been such a crazy father. Then he thought of his son’s birthday, in which he had almost missed it, because he was too busy killing those who dared to kill his elder brothers.
‘Virot, too, was such a difficult birth…’ Adam’s thoughts fell to the girl who had been born so healthy, thankfully, even after what had happened to Vonda. His mind wandered to Morkarai, hoping he was well, and that he was enjoying himself with his betrothed.
As Adam brushed Xarot’s hair, he looked down at the boy, who held such a meekness, but was also his sister’s brother, and had already begun bullying him lightly. He brushed the boy’s leaf shaped ear, and the boy jerked lightly, turning his head, allowing his father free access to his ear, until he reached up to scratch it lightly, finding his father’s hand was gone.
The boy was small, round, and warm, the painting of innocence as he drooled against his father’s chest.
‘What a wonderful life,’ Adam thought, resting his head back onto the pillow, holding his baby boy, his precious youngest, his adorable little son, who was so full of affection.
Nearby, within the estate, a figure lifted up the cart, hoisting it upon her back.
“Woa!” the children gasped, their heads craning upwards to admire their kako. “So cool!”
Nirot flushed slightly, and as she placed it down, she flexed her muscles in front of the triplets, while another set of triplets, who were different, for they were half elves, also watched from nearby, settled beside their father.
‘I impressed him by picking up the ship, so this cart isn’t that impressive, even so, should he not now know my great strength?’ Nirot thought.
Naqokan, too, considered lifting the cart, and as she turned her head to meet with the other children, she sighed. Unfortunately for her, she was not a Rot, but if it was a cart like that, even she would be able to lift it up. As she did so, the Kan children clapped with excitement.
“So cool! So cool, kaka! So cool!” the children all called out.
“You should call me sister,” Naqokan said, ruffling Minakan’s hair.
“No!” Minakan replied.
“Sister, you are so strong!” Inakan declared, holding up her arms. “I am going to be strong too!”
Naqokan smiled, and decided against breaking the girl’s heart, picking her up, and the two exchanged gentle kisses on their cheeks.
Laygak yawned, basking under the sun, feeling the chill of duskval on the horizon. Then the chill of a large shadow fell upon him and he opened an eye.
“…”
“…”
As the two glared between one another, the fight began.
However, since Laygak was against such a foe, he had lost before the fight had begun.
Laygak held his sword in front of him, while Kavgak, who had forced him to draw his blade, settled the children down, though they were so well behaved, she did not need to work hard, and then, they all
watched as Laygak revealed the swordplay that had defeated Ghazi, the one who would perhaps one day become the Scarlet Sword, and had managed to gain the martial epithet of the Blood Seeking Sword.
“Wao!” the children all gasped, clapping their hands excitedly. “So cool! So cool!”
Laygak flushed slightly. Once more he was glad to have been born within the Iyr.
Uwajin yawned, turning to see Majin, Tinajin, Mijin, and Rowajin, each of whom were in the middle of napping. She closed her eyes, as her cousins and siblings remained within arm’s reach.
As Adam stepped out, he found Faool punching and kicking, revealing his techniques to the children, who all watched in the same way.
“Woa!” they call gasped. “So cool! So cool!”
‘Should I…’ Adam thought, while Xarot clapped his hands, and as Faool suddenly appeared before him, the boy twitched, and squealed, grasping his father’s collar.
“Papo! I am as fast as you!” Jirot declared, getting up and leaping at least the entire world, plus a step, within the span of a second.
“You are so swift, Jiool,” Faool confirmed.
“If you are causing trouble, I will chase you,” Jirot said, and the pair side eyed one another.
