They noticed it too slow. By the time they had registered that she closed the gap between herself and the nearest soldier, more than ten of them were already torn to shreds and only then were guns fired.
Despite the hundreds of bullets being shot her way, they either harmlessly bounced off her or were easily intercepted with a quick deployment of a barrier or simply dodging the speeding bullets.
Each swing of her scythe generates a force far greater than their military gears can handle. One swing is comparable to a cannon on the low-end. Anything that is caught by it was unsurprisingly torn to shreds, their corpses looking like they were hit with explosives instead of a simple weapon swing. A single swing by itself emits the force that can kill multiple soldiers that are near it.
Most of the soldiers here lack even the basic discipline when it comes to the new layer of combat involving mana, their body is still restricted by the natural law, leaving them wholly unprepared against someone who has left it behind.
*Slash* *Slice* *Dice*
Her movement is smooth even on the rough terrain, the speed of her attacks were comparable to the guns that continue to open fire at her. In just a few seconds between the panic shots and aggressive approach, over a hundred soldiers were already dead. Her path leaves blood spilling everywhere and limbs being shredded and sent flying into the air.
There isn’t much to observe. Her sheer strength alone made the idea of killing every single soldier go from ridiculous to so easy it’s akin to crushing a trail of ants. There is simply no suspense on her ends even if they quickly deploy all the artillery.
For the rest of them, they are obviously terrified by the creature that defies all common sense. Even if we are at the start of the age of magic, or rather a relapse into one, not everyone can fully comprehend how much a single person can do.
*Bang* *Bang* *Bang*
As if to painfully rub it in, her weapon began shooting out bullets that tear through them like actual cannon shots. Those thrusters on the back that look more like an aesthetic add-on can be used to perform suppressive fire on a much greater level than they could hope to do with their own standard-issued equipment. Their weapons that while not unique were given to them because of their efficiency, and yet it pales in comparison to what looks like a super-sized children’s toy.
Even more soldiers are mowed down from the sudden shift in approach. The troops closest to her began to retreat and give her more room, but all that does is let her continue shooting at them with impunity, letting her just keep tearing through them from a distance.
Her expression is frozen as the default, looking bored and completely apathetic to the massacre she started. Fear began to show more and more clearly, and yet she continues to kill them as if seeing them as pests needing to be culled with no exception.
*Bang* *Slash* *Leap* *Slash* *Bang* *Bang* *Bang*
She continued her assaults while the army futilely tried to fend her off to no success. It’s just a simple matter of them doing zero damage and cannot run away. It’s a softlock with no way to reset for them, how unfortunate.
Even the weakest of magic users often have a gameplan when they can’t win. A spell to run away, a spell to disorient a target, or even threaten to overclock their body with mana to turn themselves into a makeshift nuke. Magic naturally came with more options to avoid or stall confrontation, but the lack of magic in most of these folks leaves a lot to be desired. Those that do barely learn the basics as well, unable to pull them out just in time to attack.
The tanks and aircraft being deployed at the scene doesn’t make any difference either. What would otherwise be devastating cannon shots and suppressive fire from above doesn’t help to slow her down either.
Regardless of how ridiculous the ideas of deploying an army to hold the town hostage, one that was remaining neutral on most fronts despite clearly not caring about the central government body, they certainly weren’t cheaping out on equipment, and yet those cannot break through the defense of what looks like a frail girl.
Her approach remains simple with no esoteric elements to it outside of her scythe having some weird functions to it. She is simply going at them with nothing but pure force that tears through the sea of soldiers like they were made of paper.
“How utterly pathetic.” Emmie’s voice rang out for many to hear. She amplified her voice to allow almost everyone within the area marked for death to hear clearly. “Despite such a large number, the resistance provided is akin to a tiny insect without even so much as a strong bite to them. If this is all you can muster, you might as well kill yourselves and save me the effort.”
Her dispassionate tone that carries a real sense of disappointment and apathy rings clear, causing many different emotions to swell from the remaining seven thousands or so that are still alive. Just a few minutes of struggles and they snapped to reality before them, that not only has she remained unharmed and can even bother to talk in the middle of what they thought would obviously go their way with the numbers advantage taken in mind.
An eighth of them have already been killed off in such a short time frame by one person. Even from their limited perspective, they know she isn’t even the strongest person within that town, and she put them through the wringer like this.
“If none of you can provide me such a convenience…” She said upon noticing the lack of people giving up. “Then I suppose I can only quicken my own pace to compensate.”
The gear on her scythe spun as flames came out of the thrusters on the back.
*Throw* *Spin* *Shred* *Slice* *Dice*
She threw the scythe at the nearest group of soldiers who don’t even have the time to react to a giant burning wheel that quickly turns all of them into small pieces of burnt meat on the ground.

“Why aren’t they fighting back?” Jeff said despite the contrary.
“I know that she doesn’t have so much as a scratch on her, but it’s not for a lack of trying.” Gregori quickly interjected. It’s hard not to pity the aggressor in this situation with how pitiful they have been. They weren’t even given the choice to just… leave. They no doubt would have done so the moment they realize she is a solid brick wall they can’t run over. “They are simply hard-walled by her. Nothing they could do could pierce through her defense like our techniques could back then.”
Must’ve been talking about the sudden competition inside a lower domain. I wasn’t there for it, and the gap between me and her is not small, so my usefulness would’ve been questionable.
“Man, do they have no method to stall her out?” Jeff wondered. It’s weird to be rooting against her, but that’s only because rooting for her feels pointless. She’s going to win anyway, might as well talk about the opposition.
“What? You want them to start making trenches?” Gregori sarcastically asked. “The pace of the battle is not ideal for their usual style nor the quantity of units being deployed. The most they can do in this scenario is run away, and she has made sure that is not an effective strategy.”
Aside from a few people, everyone is glued to the screen that displays Emmie’s slaughter from multiple angles, letting us see what is happening on the execution ground in grueling details.
“Was your mom always a fan of this stuff?” Nicks said after a brief period of no one commenting on the culling.
“Shut it.” Useph said, sounding more annoyed by the distraction of the comment instead of the implication of slander.
With her scythe now in automatic mode, she can effectively kill the troops twice as fast without needing to use twice the effort. It doesn’t matter much where the scythe is being thrown at or keeps moving towards, it’s going to hit someone eventually with the barriers on both ends making sure it doesn’t stray too far.
Even with her bare hands she can still shred through them like they were wet tissue paper. A slap is like a wrecking ball, a chop is like a guillotine, and a punch is like a cannon shot. Her deadliness is entirely innate… I suppose with her weapon being a soul-bound weapon, that is not even an exaggeration.
She tore through them so fast you wouldn’t believe that every single one of them were human beings and not frail squishy bugs disguising as them. They were killed so quickly and brutally that it’s hard to associate them with a race that has always been surprisingly hardy.
Speaking of speed, she is almost like a blur at this point while the scythe continues to fly around the whole area and pick off any poor souls in its way. It also flew up high and struck down the aircraft that were also ineffective this entire time.
How many were already killed off? The battlefield is already being quickly painted red all over, and yet there are still so many people standing. All of them are probably wishing that all of this was a bad dream.
She didn’t even demonstrate much of her strength at all in this ‘fight’. None of her Special Ability, no fancy spells outside of what her scythe can innately do, just pure power on a level that normal humans simply cannot prepare for… or perhaps calling them the old kind of humans is what she would’ve said. Her disdain for them is akin to prejudice, and her views on them are naturally uncharitable. Why that is or if there is any way to excuse it is beyond us, and she probably doesn’t care to fully elaborate on, if at all.
She just keeps killing them like they were nothing more than weak monsters we dismissively killed with a single swipe upon entering the dungeon. No real sign of struggles or fatigue, just mild annoyance and a sense of obligation, no matter how weak it is, it’s something in your way, so get rid of it. Remove it.
“How many of them have already been killed off?” Useph said, clearly getting more unnerved by the amount of carnage on screen even if the footage isn’t quite up close and personal.
“I can’t tell at all. There are still so many left.” Orrel replied, sounding more composed than his partner.
Regardless of how many were being killed off by simple moves of punches and kicks having the force akin to actual explosions, one thing that we can be certain of is that she is getting faster and faster. Running at a speed that bullets can’t even catch up with and the lack of loss in momentum and she tore through the ranks.
Faster and faster, and nothing but destruction left in her wake. The multiple flying drones capturing her rampage even with its specs can only make out so much for us to watch and analyze.
One moment the scythe is back in her hand and she begins clearing up the crowd with it, and the next it is thrown towards another group and she fights barehanded again.
Her body is being smeared with blood, constantly getting them stuck on her clothes only for the force of her movement causing most of them to be blown off her before another fresh coat of blood dyes it again.
It’s brutal, it’s quick, it’s terrifying, and yet there is no doubt in anyone’s minds here that it is truly an impressive display of strength, one that many could say to be godlike, even if such a label is still a long way off.

*Slash*
She sliced off his head, or more accurately tore his face and neck and made them unrecognizable with that massive scythe of hers.
It is done. That is every single soldier sent to oppress this town turned to nothing but a sea of blood and corpses. You wouldn’t think these unrecognizable hunks of flesh and bones on the ground were a regiment of soldiers, trained to be on the battlefield. And yet they were killed like they were a mindless horde of monsters that came in waves.
*Dim* *Crackle*
She put her scythe away as she opened her right palm and a spell formed.
A trail can be made out by the eyes of those who can see beyond the usual. A force usually invisible to the normals and even the mages. Their faces painted with agony and despair. Their forms are malleable and lacking in substance, vulnerable yet hard to grasp for except for a select group.
They were sucked into a vortex she had created, what looked like a tornado of darkness flashed in my eyes, overlapping with the normal vision that cannot perceive such a thing.
All of it coalesce into a tangible form right into the palm of her hand. The world seems to shake at the pressure of such a sacrilegious act, and yet the one performing it seems to not care about any of it as she finalized the ritual.
