Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis
Chapter 304: Intense Match
BOOM—
A violent explosion erupted, and flames spread uncontrollably, destroying several ships of the Demon Faction. The Demons aboard stood no chance, and the very surface of the water trembled from the blast.
Niuniu, severely injured, was caught by Wa Zai in the water. He watched the Firelight still burning ahead and burst into wild laughter, feeling a wave of satisfaction.
“That self-destruct truck of yours is pretty handy,” Wa Zai couldn’t help but remark.
“You bet,” Niuniu chuckled. “Let me go back and recover. I might even be able to pull that off again.”
SPLASH—
Just then, the sound of massive bodies parting the waves came from behind them. Two colossal figures appeared, cutting through the water and heading straight for the enemy’s city wall.
[The Demon side has deployed a “Giant Beast”]
[The Kingdom side has deployed a “Giant Beast”]
It happened at almost the exact same time.
The Demon Faction’s [City-Destroying Giant Bone] and the Kingdom Faction’s [Montario] both emerged, pushing against the immense resistance of the sea and letting out furious roars amidst the churning waves.
The City-Destroying Giant Bone was a mass of white bone and keratin, while Montario was forged from hard ore, discarded weapons, and armor.
Their incredibly heavy and enormous bodies caused the sea to ripple with their every move.
CRASH!
A huge wave slammed against the ship, making it lurch.
Skyrim was drenched by the seawater. He grabbed the railing to steady himself, feeling dizzy and disoriented, and couldn’t help but shout, “Guagua, what are you doing? If you can’t handle it, just let one of the Chess Piece Soldiers steer the boat!”
“…”
Guagua, who had just scrambled up after falling flat on her face, heard him and grew embarrassed and annoyed.
“Shut up! I’ll get it right!”
On the city wall.
Seeing the behemoth on the other side, his eyes lit up, and his heart filled with wild joy.
‘A Giant Beast, huh? I’m gonna blast you, you big oaf!’
“Eat my Magic Cannon!”
WHIR—
The Magic Cannon began to spin and accelerate again.
A moment later, a brilliant streak of light shot across the battlefield, scoring a direct hit on the chest of the City-Destroying Giant Bone.
The City-Destroying Giant Bone let out a heavy shriek as fragments of bone crumbled from its body and fell into the sea. Its frame began to grow unsteady.
“Bullseye!”
“Hahahahaha!”
“See? I was born to be a sniper!”
Shore saw this and laughed in excitement.
But soon, his laughter died, replaced by a howling sound.
BOOM!
From atop the Demon Faction’s wall of flesh, a massive bone Arrow tore through the air and accurately struck the abdomen of [Montario]. It then exploded violently, and a black Power began to spread from the wound.
The Kingdom Faction’s Giant Beast had also been severely injured!
“This…”
“What the hell? The enemy AI can charge its attacks? And it’s that accurate? Don’t tell me this Monster Giant is cheating too?”
Seeing this, Shore’s jaw dropped.
The Kingdom Faction’s Chess Pieces didn’t seem very bright, and the same was naturally true for the Demon Faction’s. The act of charging and aiming was clearly not something an Ordinary Chess Piece could do.
But soon, a new message in the information log caught his attention.
[Perhaps feeling the sea was a bit too calm, the two Giants decided to have some more fun.]
CRACK-BOOM!
The sky suddenly darkened, followed by a clap of thunder that echoed through the heavens.
Illuminated by a flash of lightning, the Giant’s hand appeared once more. With a gentle wave, it caused the air currents to rapidly twist and gather, sending several sky-high storms hurtling toward both warring factions.
[A storm is coming.]
“Fuck!” Niuniu, who had just returned to the city wall, paled. “It’s already a fucking chaotic mess and they call it ‘too calm’? They just love to watch the world burn, don’t they?!”
“We’re screwed…”
Guagua, who had just managed to get the boat under control, saw the massive hurricane-like waterspouts, and her heart went completely cold.
“It’s all up to you, Soldier. Good luck. For the Kingdom.”
Guagua pulled over a Soldier Chess Piece and pressed its hands onto the ship’s helm.
‘What a joke,’ she thought. ‘I can barely steer the boat under normal conditions, and now they’re cranking up the difficulty? I’m better off letting a minion do it!’
SPLASH!
Under the influence of the Giant’s mysterious Power, in addition to the raging hurricanes, the waves were relentless, and the thunderclouds above were in a frenzy, with each strike having a random chance of zapping some “lucky” individual to death.
The Giant Beasts continued to advance.
Neither side had just one Giant Beast Chess Piece; there were three in total, and all of them were being deployed one after another.
For a time, all the Chess Pieces fought amidst the storm and colossal waves, the lightning illuminating their rain-soaked, roaring faces.
Magic and Prayers were cast endlessly. Flames were extinguished, only to quickly flare up again.
The wreckage of one Chess Piece after another sank into the sea, where the slaughter continued unabated. Water Monsters tore at each other and attacked enemy ships, while Wa Zai’s transformed, colossal body played a crucial role.
Guagua and Skyrim braved the storm to fight on the front lines, while Shore aimed for the enemy’s Giant Beasts. Niuniu, having recovered in one of the residences, also rushed back into the battle without a moment’s rest.
The entire battlefield was in a complete uproar!
But as a crack appeared in the sky, everything came to an abrupt halt, frozen in place like a photograph.
This time, however, the Giants weren’t taking an intermission. Instead, each quickly released a Chess Piece, which floated in midair.
Then, the box was closed.
RUSTLE…
As stone dust trickled down, the two Chess Pieces floating in the air gained Life Force.
The [Kingdom Hero] was clad in Platinum Armor, holding a Longsword in one hand and a Magic Staff in the other. It radiated a brilliant light as the Flying Dragon at its feet roared.
The [Sin-eating Demon] was wreathed in an ominous aura. Blood dripped from its claws, and Ghosts struggled across its body while faint whispers devoured the sanity of all who heard them.
Both of these Chess Pieces were of the Scorching Charcoal Tier, and their Levels were maxed out. Furthermore, under the effect of the chessboard, their strength was enhanced even further, far surpassing the King pieces of either faction.
The next moment, the two top-tier Chess Pieces began a tremendous duel in the sky, so powerful that even the swirling storms were forced to give way.
