Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis
Chapter 308 - 201: The Giant’s Reward
The Giant Leech, which seemed so unstoppable just moments before, was crushed with a casual squeeze. The Giant didn’t even get its fingers dirty.
"Looks like you’ve lost your chance to fight the Giant. I get the feeling they’re invincible in this instance."
Shore looked away and joked to Niuniu, who was standing beside him.
Niuniu didn’t say anything, just snorted. In his frustration, he stomped hard on the Giant’s palm beneath his feet a couple of times.
"The Giant just changed the script on us. So what does that make our situation? Did we lose?"
Wa Zai looked around in confusion.
But before anyone else could speak, a feeling of stiffness once again washed over them. It was accompanied by the sound of howling wind and a sense of weightlessness, like being in a falling elevator.
The Giant’s palm was moving them.
"Hey, look! It looks like there are a lot more boxes in the House of Giants!"
Although they couldn’t see the Giant’s face, the sharp-eyed Guagua spotted the various furnishings inside the House of Giants.
Everyone followed her gaze and, sure enough, in the enormous House of Giants, box after box was set upon the tables.
They could only wonder what sort of worlds were contained within those other boxes...
As the group stared in shock, the feeling of weightlessness and the sound of the wind began to fade.
Then, the Giant reached out and placed their immobilized bodies, one by one, in front of a towering, ancient stone building.
[Although you did not lead the Kingdom Faction to ultimate victory.]
[Your spirited performance on the board has greatly pleased the Giant.]
[Everything here is decided by the Giant. Therefore, it will grant you the rewards you deserve.]
[Items obtained on the board now belong to their respective holders and can be moved to your inventory at any time.]
Finally, the Giant tossed down a large Golden Key. Of course, it was comically small compared to the Giant’s hand, obviously made for them to use on the door.
[Use the Golden Key to enter the building and claim the Giant’s rewards.]
At the same time, guidance from the Milestone Spirit Candle appeared, and everyone gradually regained their ability to move.
The Giant receded into the distance until it was just a hazy blur.
Everyone stared at the enormous, ancient building and the Golden Key before them, momentarily struck silent by the Epic, cinematic scene.
"So... does this mean we cleared the stage?"
Wa Zai scratched his head in bewilderment.
"Heh heh, who cares?" Shore said cheerfully, cackling as he looked at the Demon Hunting Staff in his hands. "As long as we get rewards... Just getting this Demon Hunting Staff made the whole thing worth it for me, hahaha..."
As he spoke, he walked forward and lit the Milestone Spirit Candle. He then scanned the ancient building, his gaze finally landing on the massive keyhole in the door.
"I guess we’re supposed to use this Golden Key to open the door, huh?"
"It’s so huge. How are we supposed to turn it?"
"Besides, isn’t gold soft? Fancy making a key out of it..."
Shore muttered to himself.
Guagua and Skyrim also walked over to inspect the keyhole.
"You’re using Magic, and you’re still getting hung up on stuff like that," Guagua said, amused.
Just then, Wa Zai noticed something was off about Niuniu’s expression.
"Niuniu, what’s wrong? Who ticked you off?" Wa Zai asked, surprised.
Niuniu looked away from the distance, his brow furrowed. He shook his head. "It’s nothing. I’m just pissed off that I didn’t get to fight that Giant."
Wa Zai was stunned for a second, then couldn’t help but laugh. "Are you getting into character as a Chess Piece? Wow, Brother Niu, I never thought I’d see the day you’d be empathizing with an NPC."
Wa Zai felt as if he’d discovered a new continent.
Niuniu’s expression darkened at his words. "Who’s empathizing with a pile of data?" he said irritably. "I just wanted to kill that damn Giant. Plain and simple."
"Hey, Wa Zai, Niuniu, come give us a hand!"
Shore called out.
Seeing this, Niuniu and Wa Zai dropped their conversation.
The five of them began working together to haul the huge, heavy Golden Key toward the keyhole.
"Damn, this thing is heavy. Feels like it might actually be solid gold..."
"Yeah, if we didn’t have superhuman Constitutions, we’d probably struggle just to lift it."
"The devs for Spirit Candle are obsessive about details. If only this could affect the real world, like in the web novels."
"You’ve got your eye on this Golden Key, haven’t you?"
"Heh heh..."
Chatting idly as they worked, the group soon got the Golden Key to the stone door of the ancient building and inserted it into the keyhole.
They all began to turn the key with all their might. With a loud CLICK, a crack appeared in the towering door.
"This door is so thick. Can we even push it open?" Shore looked up at the massive door, then reached out to give it a tentative shove.
But his hand didn’t make contact as he expected. Instead, it passed right through.
"Whoa, whoa!"
Losing his balance, Shore tumbled straight through the door.
"Huh?" Niuniu froze for a second. He touched the door himself and discovered that what had been solid moments ago was now just an illusion.
Seeing this, the rest of the group followed him inside.
"Whoa..."
Once they got a clear look at the building’s interior, they couldn’t help but gasp in amazement.
Inside were numerous stone pedestals like display stands. Dozens of Weapons were laid out on them. Even more impressively, some pedestals held armor stands showcasing complete, finished sets.
Beyond those, there were also Special Items, tools, and consumables.
In the center of the building lay a pile of glowing Spiritual Material, just waiting to be collected...
’This is supposed to be a test for players?’
’What kind of player could possibly withstand a test like this?’
"Ah, great Giant! All praise to your generosity!"
