Bizarre Voyage: Summoning The Fourth Crisis
Chapter 318: Pain Gives Life
These Executioners weren’t very strong in combat, and their armor didn’t seem to be for Defense.
The group of players fighting them quickly discovered their unique trait.
Regeneration.
No matter where they were injured, the wound would rapidly regenerate and heal.
This left Li Miao and the others completely stunned.
Fortunately, while the Executioners had tenacious Life Force, they weren’t very powerful. At their strongest, they were only Molten Slag Ash Tier.
The players quickly subdued them.
[Special Task Updated: Inquire about the Executioners’ situation.]
The battle subsided.
However, with the exception of the Executioner leader and the one who had been speaking beside him, all the other Executioners struggled violently.
Luckily, the Spirit Candle Shop sold rope, so the players tied them up one by one.
After telling Brother Mangzi and the others to watch their surroundings, Faraway approached the Executioner leader, whose face was contorted in pain, and began to question him.
“What’s your name?”
The Executioner leader, his face wracked with pain, didn’t answer. Instead, he rasped, “Outsiders… run… quickly…”
His Spirit seemed muddled and his consciousness was in disarray, as if he were fighting against something.
But it was clear from his words that he held no killing intent toward the players who had suddenly appeared. He just wanted them to leave, implying a greater danger lurked nearby.
Seeing this, Luo Ge stepped forward and nodded to Faraway. “Let me try.”
As he spoke, he extended a hand. A gentle glow emanated from his Execution Gloves as he hovered them over the Executioner leader’s forehead.
Mithros Clarity Spell.
A moment later, the painful expression on the Executioner leader’s face seemed to ease slightly.
Luo Ge watched him for a moment, then his eyes narrowed as if he’d noticed something.
The next moment, he shot out his hand, joined two fingers together, and with a SQUELCH, plunged them directly into the man’s chest.
Faraway’s brow furrowed, but he didn’t intervene.
“Holy shit, Brother Jiao, don’t—” The others were shocked and moved to stop him.
But a second later, they saw Luo Ge pinch a black-and-red ball of flesh from the Executioner leader’s chest. It was still pulsing, alive.
Once the ball of flesh was removed, the look of pain on the Executioner leader’s face actually subsided a great deal.
“What the hell is that thing?”
Shore grimaced at the sight, no longer caring why Luo Ge had learned such a seemingly useless Magic spell.
After stowing the ball of flesh, Luo Ge turned to the Executioner leader, who was gradually coming to his senses.
“Feeling better?”
The Executioner leader still looked weak, but at least he now seemed lucid. He struggled to look at the players and the other Executioners on the ground before finally speaking in a raspy voice.
But to everyone’s surprise, his first words were a request to have the thing Luo Ge had just removed from him returned.
“Outsiders… I beg you… give the thing… back to me…”
This left the players stunned.
‘Is this NPC crazy? He wants to stuff that thing back into his body?’ Black Mountain was incredulous.
Li Miao and the others exchanged glances, unsure of what to do.
Seeing how weak he was, Faraway thought for a moment, then took a [Fish Ball] that restored Physical Strength from his inventory and put it in the man’s mouth.
But the Executioner leader quickly spat it out.
“Hm?” Li Miao’s eyebrows shot up. ‘So stubborn?’
But the man’s next words left him feeling incredibly awkward.
“Vocal tract… can’t eat…”
After speaking, he glanced weakly at the mouthparts on his chest, which strongly resembled the feeding orifice of a Sea Star.
“My mouth… is on my stomach…”
“…” Li Miao was speechless.
“Haha, you fucking idiot! That’s hilarious!” Shore couldn’t hold back his laughter and slapped him on the shoulder.
Faraway silently fed the Fish Ball into the man’s stomach, adding a few extra for good measure.
A moment later, having recovered some of his Physical Strength, the Executioner leader managed to struggle to his feet and let out a breath.
“…Thank you for your kindness, outsiders.”
“This is the Golden Sand Islands. I am the patriarch of the Sea Star Race, Sha Jiao.”
Having said that, he didn’t seem to want to reveal anything more, and simply sighed.
“Please leave, outsiders. You are not bad people, and we appreciate the gesture, but we must rely on the Golden Sand Venerable Lord to survive. This is the only way…”
“Don’t throw your lives away for nothing. Just leave as quickly as you can…”
His eyes were dim, as if he had lost all hope long ago.
From his words, it was easy to gather that the players weren’t the first to arrive here; others had tried to save them before.
After hearing this, the players all frowned in confusion, each reacting differently.
“Survive by relying on this cruel torture? What does that mean?” Shore asked, looking at Li Miao.
Li Miao stroked his chin. “It seems to be related to this so-called Golden Sand Venerable Lord.”
“Throw our lives away? Please. As long as it has a Blood Bar, I’ll kill a god if I have to,” Black Mountain Little Demon said, brimming with confidence.
“I wonder if this NPC will drop anything good if we kill him…” Niuniu muttered. His train of thought was on a completely different wavelength from the others.
Hearing this, Li Miao and the others shot him a glare.
“Hey, I was just thinking out loud! I know this NPC is important, or I would’ve made my move already. Don’t worry,” Niuniu said with an awkward smile.
Of course, their conversation didn’t reach the ears of Sha Jiao of the Sea Star Race. After all, the ones speaking with him were Luo Ge and Faraway.
“Regardless, please tell us about the situation here first,” Luo Ge said directly. “Your predicament may not be impossible to solve.”
