[BL] After SSS-rank mage reborn as the Legendary Craftsman
Chapter 118: Spreading the Crafting Formula Across South Korea
Thunder first brought Kei into the office behind the shop.
Lucas quickly followed. As soon as he stepped in, he stared at the silver ring in Kei’s hand, his eyes full of curiosity.
"Don’t tell me you actually believe what he said, Thunder." Lucas whispered to Thunder. After all, a single ring is able to dispel all negative status effects in combat... too hard to believe!
Thunder glanced at him.
"Why did you follow?"
"I want to see it with my own eyes. If this is just an overhyped item, I need to know so I can stop you from going around scamming people with the formula."
Lucas said very seriously, though his eyes darted around with a cunning look.
"You think Kei needs to scam anyone?"
Lucas immediately fell silent.
True, this could be verified with just a small test to know whether Kei’s words were true or false, but this... was too unbelievable. Kei didn’t even look like a skilled Craftsman.
Thunder turned to look at Kei, then pointed at a wooden chair in the middle of the room.
"Let Lucas test the ring’s ability."
"No problem."
Kei handed the Purification Ring to Lucas.
Lucas took it with a skeptical expression. However, after seeing the intricate patterns running around the face of the ring, his eyes immediately turned serious.
This was not a hastily crafted piece of equipment.
Lucas quickly slipped the ring onto his finger.
Thunder began taking out testing tools from the cabinet one by one. There was a poison bottle, stones containing paralysis effects, a jar of petrification powder, and even a device specifically designed to induce temporary coma.
Lucas looked at the tools in front of him, the corner of his mouth twitching slightly.
"Are you guys planning to turn me into a test subject?"
"You volunteered to come along." Thunder replied.
"But I didn’t think you’d test so many things."
Lucas said, flustered. If the ring didn’t work, he would have to suffer a lot!
"Stop rambling."
Thunder opened the poison bottle and dripped a drop onto the back of Lucas’s hand.
Immediately, that patch of skin turned purplish-black. Veins bulged, and the poison quickly spread along his arm.
Before Lucas could even cry out in pain, the ring glowed. A thin white ring of light ran around his finger.
The poison disappeared.
Lucas’s skin color returned to normal, as if nothing had ever happened.
Lucas looked down at his hand with a dazed, disbelieving expression.
"Do it again."
Thunder didn’t need to be told.
This time, he took out a gray stone and activated its petrification effect. Gray layers immediately crawled up Lucas’s arm, hardening bit by bit.
The ring glowed again, and the petrified skin disappeared in an instant, immediately returning to normal.
Lucas’s mouth hung open.
"Impossible..."
"Continue." Kei said calmly.
Thunder nodded and tested the other statuses one by one.
Paralysis.
Coma.
Weakening.
Dizziness.
Each time a negative effect appeared, the Purification Ring emitted a gentle light and completely dispelled that status.
Lucas initially tried to maintain a skeptical look, but the further it went, the more excited his face became.
By the time Thunder conducted the final test, Lucas had immediately pulled his hand in front of his face, cherishing the ring as if holding a priceless treasure.
"It really can purify everything..."
He murmured.
"If hunters carried this, our parties wouldn’t need to fill their bags with status-resistance Potions anymore."
Thunder paid no attention to Lucas’s words. He walked over and gripped Kei’s shoulders tightly with both hands.
"Kei! Can this ring be mass-produced?"
"It can."
"Is the formula complicated?"
Kei shook his head slightly.
"Not too complicated if the crafter already has basic knowledge of engraving patterns and energy control."
Thunder gripped Kei’s shoulders even tighter.
"That’s great then!"
Kei took out several sheets of paper from his pocket, folded neatly and sealed with a protective film, and handed them to Thunder.
"This is the crafting formula for the Purification Ring."
Thunder froze.
He slowly and carefully accepted the papers, as if afraid that using even a little more strength,What’s in my hands will disappear.
A crafting formula for a piece of equipment that could change the entire hunter era, yet Kei easily handed it over.
He didn’t ask for money or demand exclusivity, he didn’t hold back any personal benefits for himself at all.
Thunder looked at Kei, and a powerful surge of emotion welled up inside him.
Every day he met many Craftsmen. Most of them tried to jealously guard their formulas, and the moment they discovered someone else could craft a similar product, they would fly into a rage. But Kei was different.
He never thought about monopolizing the market. The only thing Kei cared about was whether hunters could survive and return from the Dungeon.
Perhaps Kei had thought long and hard after discovering the desperate situation of Dong-San City, so that it could be solved with this Purification Ring.
"Kei..." Thunder said in a hoarse voice.
Kei tilted his head slightly.
"Is something wrong?"
"No." Thunder shook his head, trying to hide his slightly reddened eyes. "It’s nothing."
As someone who had lived in Dong-San City for over a decade and considered this place his second homeland, Thunder was truly grateful to Kei.
From the matter of the upgraded spatial ring that helped Guild Black Rose return, to the release of the Purification Ring crafting formula... Kei was truly a person of noble character.
Lucas, standing beside him, also stared blankly at the crafting formula Kei had handed to Thunder.
"This formula... Can anyone receive it?"
Thunder turned his head.
"Even Craftsmen from Guild Zootopia?" Lucas continued asking, swallowing softly, his eyes full of excitement and desire.
Thunder burst out laughing.
"You really are short-sighted. How could you possibly understand what Kei is thinking?"
Lucas was stunned.
"What do you mean..."
"Of course, any Craftsman capable of crafting can use this formula." Thunder clapped Lucas hard on the shoulder. "If we only gave it to one Guild, wouldn’t we just be repeating the exact same Potion shortage we have now?"
