Meanwhile, Yin stayed behind their backs and was just listening silently. His eyes stayed between the two and was even unexpectedly pulled by the energetic dog.

What he read stays on him and he deeply feels conflicted about the question why it doesn’t hold grudges. He didn’t care if it’s just an animal, but he just felt why and remembered himself.

His past self that never let any single grudges away. Anyone who troubled and harmed him paid the price that was way more heavier than what they did to him.

He felt that they deserve it and he wouldn’t let anyone pass through like nothing.

It’s very contrasting to the dog. Although they are different from everything, he just felt they were the same who had that situation. And he believed that they must have the same choice, to take revenge for themselves and hate those perpetrators.

His eyes lowered. How could he even ask that question anyway? He will probably not have the answer.

"Baobao, catch!"

In the garden beside the abandoned house, a rare scene was seen. The senior grim reaper and the great devil were actually playing with the dog.

It’s been a few hours since they arrived and they were playing with the dog. Initially, Baobao cannot touch anything but they took care of it anyway. Now, the dog was happily running around to catch the small disc that Si threw.

The scene was like just some ordinary people playing in the park with their dog yet the situation and even the ’people’ around are very unusual. A grim reaper, a devil and a dog ghost together with an old abandoned house on their side and a wrecked garden. What surrounded them was not the picture-perfect park where there is leveled green grass and wide field.

The sun was indeed shining brightly and the cold wind brushing against them as they sat under the tree was very similar. In addition, the peaceful and light atmosphere around them was very noticeable.

No. 444 gaze at Baobao. They removed the dusty-like dark energy on its body and now its transparent body looks very clean and pure. As it runs around, the sun shines reflected on its body, looking very luster and shiny. Because it’s a soul, it can no longer feel any pain from his wounds nor the exhaustion from his old age so it runs freely. However even though it appears that they are close, the dog would really not follow them to leave this place. No matter how they try and even act to throw the disc outside the house, it won’t follow.

"Why don’t we find its owner?" Si suggested out of nowhere. "The records said that she was well taken care of before it was left here. She was able to reach an age where most dogs cannot even do without a healthy body. I think her owner cared for her and we have to find the reason why she left." Si fiddled with the withered grass on the ground as they waited for Baobao’s return. "Maybe that can make her follow us."

Yin was silent for a second. "Do you think she’ll resent the owner for abandoning her to death here? Although she was taken care off, how she just left was a form of betrayal that surely hurt her. Not to mention the suffering of pain that she experienced after that."

Si paused. "I don’t know but I remember that old woman." A small smile flashed on his lips when he remembered that old woman who called him a child, gave him a candy and even dared to pat his head. "The old woman even chose to forgive her son who left her for years because of the love that she always carries from their past. I think they’re somehow the same."

Someone who just truly loves that person that they always chose to forgive and move forward. Although he still couldn’t understand what love fully is, he felt something tingle inside him. He didn’t know what it was and where it even placed but he just found it a bit pleasing inside him. Thus somehow knew that no matter if it’s that old woman or Baobao, they will choose the same.

Yin sighed and stood up. "Then we will—"

"Arf! Arf! Arf!" All of a sudden, loud continuous barks from Baobao cut off their conversation. They saw the dog put down the disc and suddenly sprint fast towards a direction.

They followed its gaze and were very surprised to see two ’people’.

The first person that remained standing there wore the same outfit as a grim reaper while the other one that looked a bit young was running towards the dog.

At instant, they seemed to understand something.

That one running was the owner.

And they were right. The moment the two met, that girl familiarly crouched down and opened her arms wide.

"Baobao!" She calls with an affectionate tone and embraces the dog firmly in her arms.

"Arf! Arf!" The dog began sniffing and licking the girl non-stop all over her while the owner just giggled happily.

"Baobao, how are you?! I’m so sorry that I came late, okay?" After hugging, the girl became emotional and apologized repeatedly. "Baobao, I didn’t expect that my treatment would take too long. I’m sorry that you waited again and again."

The two strode closer to the grim reaper.

"S-Senior!" The grim reaper was clearly a junior who knew No. 444’s reputation so she became nervous as she bowed to greet.

Si nodded. "Who is she?"

"A-Ah," The grim reaper forced herself to calm down to answer him. "S-Senior, she’s my task. Her name is Ruan Tang. She died from terminal cancer just earlier. After she bid farewell to her parents, she asked to go here to meet someone. I didn’t expect that she would come here for Baobao."

"You know Baobao?"

She nodded with a smile. "Yes, Senior. It took us some time before coming here and she told me many things. She lived here with her grandma and she has a dog named Baobao which accompanied her as she grew. However after her grandmother passed away, she was taken by her parents. She wanted to go back to Baobao but she was diagnosed with cancer and fell into a coma. Unfortunately, due to their circumstances and her poor health, she didn’t make it until now." The junior’s sound shows that she feels pity and sadness for Ruan Tang.

"She told me how she always missed her dog but she stayed at the hospital all along. They can’t bring her. Aside from that, her parents also dislike dogs so they didn’t bother coming to her." Her voice also changes as she feels angry at the parents who dislike such cute animals even though they know it’s important to their daughter. The tone and expressions on her face was very vivid as she told the information non-stop.

The two remained silent as they listened and couldn’t help but think how this grim reaper was easily affected by the souls around her. She was very different to them.

Anyway, they finally found out the missing truth. Baobao was never abandoned. It was just a pity that she suffered deeply after that.
