Chapter 330: Battle

"How dare you?!" She screamed when she fully saw the situation of her subordinates. She glared at the grim reapers, her eyes filled with killing intent. Suddenly she spotted a familiar figure.

She was surprised. "Yin?!"

Seeing the man staring, Si took a step forward a bit to cover the man. Yue noticed that action and only then did she finally understand something.

"Hah!" She let out a mocking sneer. "What is this?! A devil with grim reapers to collide against me?! How daring!" She landed not far away from them. "You dare to betray me!" She pointed at Yin.

"We have no relationship for you to say I did." Yin simply said. They’re not friends so there was never a betrayal, he just simply led them here.

Yue’s eyes turned venomous. "Fuck you! You’re a devil! You are disgracing your kind!"

Yin scoffed. "Disgrace? Since when did devils feel that way? Even though we are the same kind, we have no connection at all."

Yue gets livid at his words. She flicked her sleeves and her nails turned into claws. "Very well, then you no longer have the right to become one of us. You’re dead!"

Her words made Si’s eyes turn sharp. "Did I allow you?" He also positioned his sword sideways to deliver a clear message that he will not let her.

"What is this? I didn’t expect that you would downgrade yourself this much, Yin. Not only forming an alliance with them but you actually ask for protection? Since when did you become a coward?" The tone of her voice was mocking in disbelief. After all, she knew this devil. How could he end up in this situation?

Her eyes narrowed suspiciously and stared at Yin intently. She keenly noticed something different about the man. It’s not from the physical sense and temperament but the natural coercion that he always exudes from his power lessen. It was not like before when even looking at him was hard. He was full of aggression and majestic that it was hard for anyone— even for devils like her, to confront him heads on.

Thinking about it snap something inside her head and she realizes what’s going on.

She was only surprised for a second before letting out a taunting laugh. "Oh, so you were caught and they did something to you?" She directly points out facts. "Tsk, come one, Yin! Don’t be afraid of these threats. Come with me and let’s fight this together. I’ll help you get back everything they get from you."

Everyone’s face turned solemn at her words. Even though they knew that it was the Judge himself who put restrictions on the devil’s power, they can still probably do something. After all, if the Judge is so powerful then why can’t he just catch every devil and put them like this?

They looked at No. 444 with worry in their eyes. It’s not like they can’t fight. There are several grim reapers and many of them are seniors who are capable but they want to have as few injuries and casualties as possible. Yue is not the only devil they have to face after all.

Si notices their gazes and he also subconsciously turns his head to Yin. Their eyes met.

He didn’t say anything but only tighten his grip on his sword. Their gaze met for a few seconds before he looked away and shot glare at the she-devil.

"He won’t." His voice was firm, clearly stating his stance of trusting the devil beside him. His way of shielding Yin is also telling the crowd that he will protect the latter now that he’s in that state.

"!!!" Yue was dumbstruck.

She actually first thought that maybe something happened to him and he was just forced to do this but when she saw how a grim reaper protects, she understood that he was now one of them! Traitor!

"Tsk, since you’re very unfortunate to come here in this state, I will make sure to end you well," A grin flash on her lips and she also glanced at the grim reaper beside him. She finally understood that the relationship between these two is unusual.

"And surely for this fellow too." She added, shooting a proactive gaze at Yin.

A sharp glint flash on Yin’s eyes. "How dare you!"

"It’s okay." No. 444 calms him down. "Seniors, let’s finish this early now."

With his words, another round of the bloody battle begins. More monsters and demons came after Yue’s call and the surroundings became even more chaotic. Bloods and death became the most common in that place.

Si focused on fighting and helping his colleagues while maintaining to observe someone. Even if his movements are quick and fast, the other side of his attention stayed towards a direction. And every time he noticed that that same occurrence happened again and again right in front of his eyes, his actions became more aggressive too.

It was like through this endless fight, he was using this to vent any frustration and anger that’s growing inside him.

He felt that familiar sensation snaking inside his heart again. It was this aching feeling the same when he was faced with betrayal for the first time and that moment when he found that it was already too late to save a soul because of his foolishness.

He hates it. He didn’t want that feeling at all.

And right now, this feeling was tenfold worse. As he bore these emotions, it was no longer just an ache but felt like a knife stabbing on him, merciless without any sympathy.

How foolish of him.

How stupid of him to fall for another pain again.

It turns out that I’m wrong. That was all he could say. He was wrong. He was so damn wrong for putting his heart directly on that man’s palm without hesitation, not knowing that that man will be personally crushing it.

"S-Senior, help me!" A call for help brought him back from reverie and he quickly saved No. 88 from a demon. He grabbed the junior and put her near him.

"Don’t leave my side anymore." She nodded while clutching her injured arm.

"T-Thank you, Senior. I’m sorry for the inconvenience."

"It’s okay," he paused. "Don’t cry."

Her face turned red and quickly wiped her tears. "O-Okay!"

He put his concentration even more on fighting while protecting his junior behind him. Unfortunately, the demons noticed that he was protecting somebody so they gathered on his side even more.

His brows furrowed. The situation is not going well. He has to do something.

"Senior, the devil is going to him!" No. 88 shouted in anxiety. He quickly looked at the direction she’s pointing and saw Yue using her dark energy to attack Yin. Since the man didn’t have his usual strength, he was overpowered easily and was trapped in a corner.

His eyes widened when he saw her catch his neck. "Ah Yin!"

He subconsciously wanted to release a spiritual attack but before he could do so, the she-devil quickly shouted to threaten.

"Stop! Don’t fight back or else he’s dead!"
