Chapter 83: Chapter 83: Tomorrow, You’ll Be My Husband 2

As he fastened it around his wrist, he caught Henry’s reflection in the mirror. He turned toward him, drew him into his arms, and rested his chin on top of his head.

"Next time we sleep in this house," Elisha whispered, holding him close, "you’ll officially be my husband."

Henry lifted his face to look at him, a bright smile spreading across his lips. "Then let’s go, darling. I can’t wait."

Elisha squeezed Henry’s hand, and they made their way down the polished staircase toward the grand entrance. Their car was already waiting outside. As they approached, the driver stepped forward and opened the rear door.

Elisha let Henry get in first before sliding into the seat beside him. Once the door closed, the driver returned to his seat and drove out through the estate gates.

As they settled into the back seat, Henry leaned against Elisha’s side, resting comfortably against him. After a few minutes, a thought crossed his mind.

"Do you know when everyone went home last night?" Henry asked, looking up at him.

"The housekeeper told me this morning that both our families stayed on the terrace quite late," Elisha replied, wrapping an arm around Henry’s shoulders. "They left long after we’d gone to sleep."

Henry nodded. "Did your father try calling you again?"

Elisha’s expression tightened slightly, but his voice remained gentle. "No, he didn’t. Don’t worry about that, pretty. Let’s just focus on us."

"Alright," Henry murmured, resting his head on Elisha’s shoulder. He closed his eyes, settling comfortably against him as the car moved along the road.

A few minutes later, Elisha’s phone began ringing. He reached into his pocket and checked the screen. It was Sarah, his executive assistant.

He answered the call. "Sarah, what’s going on?"

"Good morning, sir. I’m sorry to disturb you," Sarah said, sounding concerned. "The legal manager has reviewed the documents for the deal scheduled for submission today and found that two signature pages are still blank. We need your authorization on those pages before we can submit the complete documents by the end of the business day."

Elisha frowned. "How is that possible? I personally checked every page and signed all the documents before I left the office last week."

"I know, sir, but the last two appendices are still unsigned," Sarah explained. "I’m sorry to interrupt your wedding weekend."

Elisha sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose. "It’s fine. I’m on my way to the hotel now. I’ll text you the hotel’s name once I get there. Bring the documents directly to my suite so I can review and sign them."

"Alright, sir. I’ll come as soon as you send me the hotel’s address."

The call ended, and Elisha lowered his phone with a slight frown. He looked troubled, and Henry noticed the change in his expression.

"What happened, baby?" Henry asked, lifting his head from Elisha’s chest.

Elisha turned to him, his brows furrowed. "Sarah just informed me that two signature pages in the deal documents are still blank. The paperwork is due for submission today, but I’m certain I signed every page before leaving the office."

Henry rested a hand against his chest. "It’s alright, darling. Mistakes happen. Just let her bring the documents to the hotel so you can check them yourself."

"You’re right," Elisha murmured, pressing a kiss to Henry’s hair. "I’ll sort it out as soon as we get to the hotel, and then we can enjoy the rest of our day together."

Henry nodded and settled back against Elisha’s side as the car continued toward the hotel. A moment later, he felt his phone vibrate in his trouser pocket. He reached into his pocket, took out his phone, and saw a new message from Elisha’s mother.

He opened it, expecting a friendly check-in or perhaps a reminder about the wedding arrangements. Instead, his expression changed as he read the message.

Henry, dear. I know you and Elisha are heading to the hotel now, but please find a way to stay in a separate room tonight. Tradition matters, and you two simply cannot spend the night before the wedding in the same bed. Please handle this discreetly without causing an argument with Elisha.

Henry stared at the message, torn between his respect for Elisha’s mother and his desire not to go against Elisha’s wishes. He understood how much the family valued the tradition, but Elisha had already made it clear that he wouldn’t spend the night apart from him.

Lowering his phone, Henry glanced at Elisha, who was still gazing out the window as their car approached the hotel’s main entrance.

He didn’t want to upset Elisha’s mother, but he couldn’t agree to something Elisha had firmly refused. With their wedding just a day away, the last thing he wanted was to create tension between them.

In the end, Henry decided not to go behind Elisha’s back. He would stand by his fiancé and face the situation with him rather than risk creating a misunderstanding between them. Without replying to the message, he slipped his phone back into his pocket.

A few moments later, the car pulled up outside the hotel’s main entrance. Elisha stepped out first, then turned and offered Henry his hand. Henry took it and stepped out beside him. Before they headed inside, Elisha asked the driver to bring their remaining luggage up to the suite.

They walked into the hotel’s spacious marble lobby, where a member of the hotel staff greeted them warmly. As the staff member greeted Elisha and Henry, Elisha’s personal staff member, who had been waiting in the lobby after preparing their suite earlier, stood up and approached them.

After exchanging greetings, the hotel staff escorted Elisha and Henry to the private elevators and accompanied them to their floor. When the elevator doors opened, the staff member led them down the corridor to their suite, while Elisha’s personal staff member followed them.

Once they reached the door, the hotel staff member opened it for them and stepped aside to let them enter. "Is there anything else you need?" he asked politely.

"No, thank you. We’re fine," Elisha replied.

The staff member excused himself and left them to settle in.

Henry stepped into the suite and looked around, taking in its elegant furnishings, floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city skyline, comfortable seating, and spacious bedroom. Elisha’s staff then showed them where he had arranged their wedding clothes and accessories, making sure everything was in place for their stay.

Not long afterward, the driver arrived with the remaining bags. Elisha thanked him and his staff member for their help before they left, finally giving him and Henry some privacy.

With the suite quiet, Elisha turned to Henry and loosened his collar.

"Pretty, I’ll be right back. I need to use the restroom."

"Alright, darling," Henry replied, watching him walk toward the master bathroom.

Once Elisha disappeared down the hallway, Henry crossed the living area and lowered himself onto the velvet couch. He leaned back against the cushions, letting out a slow breath as he glanced around the unfamiliar suite. His thoughts drifted back to the message he had received from Elisha’s mother earlier. He still hadn’t replied because he didn’t know what to say to her.

Just as he was thinking about what to do, his phone vibrated against his thigh.

Henry reached into his pocket and pulled it out. The moment he saw the name flashing across the screen, his fingers paused over it.

It was Elisha’s mother.

Henry stared at the incoming call, his lips pressed together...
