Chapter 129: Chapter 129: From Bedmate to Boyfriend to Fiancé
~Third- POV~
"Reynold..." Frederick began, his deep voice filled with sincerity. "Earlier today, you told me you wanted a real title. You wanted to know that you weren’t just someone who shared my bed, but someone who held a place in my heart."
He paused, his gaze softening.
"And, baby, you do. You have a place in my heart that no one else could ever take. You’ve brought a kind of happiness into my life that money could never buy, and you’ve given me something I didn’t even realize I was missing. I don’t want you to ever have to wonder what you mean to me or where you stand in my life."
Frederick stepped closer and held the bouquet out to him.
"So, my little angel, I’m asking you properly this time. Will you do me the honor of becoming my boyfriend?"
Reynold couldn’t speak. He covered his face, sobbing as the happiness and overwhelming emotions washed over him. He had never imagined someone would go to such lengths to make him feel this loved and cherished. The camera crew captured every moment, from the magnificent red roses to the glowing sign and the tears streaming down Reynold’s cheeks.
"Yes, Sunshine! Yes! A thousand times yes!" Reynold cried, his voice breaking with happiness.
He rushed forward, accepting the heavy bouquet with one arm while wrapping the other around Frederick’s neck. Frederick bent down to meet him in a passionate, emotional kiss beneath the glowing floral archway.
Wrapping his arms around Reynold’s waist, Frederick lifted him slightly off his feet as they kissed. The soft music played around them while the cameras captured the moment their relationship officially began.
Reynold laughed through his tears, overwhelmed by the grand gesture. "Everything is so beautiful. I love it. Thank you so much! I love you so much, Frederick!"
"I love you more, my little pet," Frederick replied softly, his voice filled with affection.
Reynold smiled and pulled Frederick down for another deep, lingering kiss. His mind was still spinning from everything Frederick had done for him. He could hardly believe that he was now officially Frederick’s boyfriend.
When they parted, Frederick leaned down and murmured against his ear, "We’re not done yet, sweetheart."
Reynold blinked in surprise. "There’s still more?"
Frederick nodded, a hint of amusement in his dark eyes. "Yes, baby. There’s one last thing."
"What is it? Are you trying to make me cry my eyes out tonight?" Reynold asked with a shaky laugh, wiping another tear from his flushed cheek.
"They’re all tears of joy," Frederick replied with a knowing smile. "And I have a feeling you won’t be able to hold them back this time."
Reynold’s heart raced with curiosity. "What are you planning now?"
"I need to cover your eyes first," Frederick whispered.
He retrieved a soft silk blindfold and gently tied it over Reynold’s eyes, plunging him into darkness.
"Come with me, baby."
Taking Reynold’s hand in his, Frederick guided him carefully through the mansion. The cameramen followed quietly, their cameras capturing every step without interrupting the moment.
They climbed another flight of marble stairs and emerged onto a private, open-air rooftop terrace overlooking the illuminated Paris skyline, with the Eiffel Tower glowing in the distance.
The music playing in the background faded into the soft, sweeping orchestral melody of ??"Love to Hate Me,"?? which drifted from hidden outdoor speakers.
Frederick positioned Reynold in the center of the terrace and stood behind him. Resting his hands gently on Reynold’s shoulders, he leaned down to speak into his ear.
"From the very first day I met you, Reynold, something in my life began to change. After everything I went through with Eva, I had convinced myself that love was no longer something I could afford to believe in. I had spent years building my empire and had everything a man could wish for, yet I couldn’t bring myself to believe that I could find that kind of happiness again. I thought it was easier to live without love than to risk being hurt that way again. But then you came into my life, baby, and little by little, you made me question everything I had come to believe.
"You gave me reasons to smile in the middle of the busiest business days. You made me look forward to every moment we spent together, and even when you weren’t beside me, I found myself thinking about you. You made me realize that no matter how much wealth a man accumulates or how powerful he becomes, he can still long for something money cannot buy. You reminded me that I could still love someone with my whole heart and be loved in return. And now, I can’t imagine a future without you, baby, because you’ve become the one person I never want to lose."
Reynold’s breath caught beneath the blindfold, his lips trembling as he listened.
Frederick slowly untied the silk blindfold and let it fall to the floor. "Open your eyes, my love."
Reynold opened his eyes, and his breath caught in his throat.
The entire rooftop terrace had been transformed into a breathtaking floral wonderland. Thousands of warm fairy lights glittered overhead like a canopy of stars. Massive arrangements of white hydrangeas and crimson garden roses lined the terrace, illuminated by the soft glow of elegant floor lanterns.
At the center, framed against the magnificent Paris skyline and the glowing Eiffel Tower, stood a grand floral installation bearing a message in bold, radiant letters:
PLEASE, REYNOLD, BE MY FOREVER.
WILL YOU PLEASE MARRY ME?
Reynold stared at the words in disbelief. His mouth fell open, but for several seconds, no sound came out. Tears welled in his eyes and spilled down his cheeks as he covered his face with both hands, his shoulders trembling.
"No... no... please tell me this is real," he stammered. "Someone, please tell me I’m not dreaming..."
"No, sweetheart," Frederick assured him. "Everything is real."
Reynold turned around sharply to face Frederick, but the moment his eyes landed on him, he froze.
Frederick was kneeling on one knee on the rose-petal-covered marble floor of the rooftop terrace.
In his left hand, he held a magnificent bouquet of rare white orchids. In his right, he held an open velvet Cartier ring box, revealing a breathtaking oval-cut diamond ring that sparkled beneath the soft glow of the terrace lights.
The bouquet of red roses Reynold had been holding slipped from his fingers and landed among the petals at his feet. He covered his mouth with both hands, trembling as his gaze moved from the dazzling ring to Frederick’s eyes.
Frederick looked up at him, his expression filled with tenderness and sincerity.
"Earlier today, when we were talking at the hotel, you told me what marriage meant to you," he began, his voice steady but thick with emotion. "You told me you wanted a permanent place in my life, a home, and someone who would stand beside you as your partner for the rest of your life. And, baby, I want all of that with you."
Frederick’s voice softened as he looked into Reynold’s tear-filled eyes. "You are the most beautiful, pure-hearted, and selfless person I have ever known. Despite everything you’ve been through, you’ve never allowed the world to change the kindness in your heart. You appreciate even the smallest gestures, care for the people you love, and make people you love feel special in ways you probably don’t even realize. You’re beautiful inside and out, sweetheart, and you deserve every happiness this world has to offer. I want to spend the rest of my life giving you that happiness."
Frederick took a slow, deep breath, his eyes never leaving Reynold’s face. Reynold blinked back tears, a small, emotional smile spreading across his lips as he listened.
"You’ve given me a sense of peace and belonging I never knew I was missing," Frederick continued. "You respect me, you care for me, and in your own sweet ways, you remind me every day how deeply you love me. Even when I pretended not to notice your little gestures, I saw every single one of them, sweetheart. I noticed the thought you put into them, the effort you made, and the love behind every little thing you did. And I cherished them more than you know."
His expression softened further.
"I know you’re young and still have so much of life ahead of you, so much to learn, discover, and experience. And I don’t expect you to have everything figured out. I want to be there through all of it, cheering you on, supporting your dreams, and standing beside you through the good days and the difficult ones. I want to be the man you can always turn to, the one who protects you when you need protection, holds you when life gets hard, and reminds you of your worth whenever you forget it. I want to grow with you, build a home with you, and spend every year showing you that choosing you will always be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made."
Frederick lifted the ring box slightly, his dark gaze fixed on Reynold’s tear-streaked face.
"Reynold Blake, will you grow old with me? Will you marry me?"
"Yes! Yes! A million times yes!" Reynold cried, his voice breaking with happiness.
Before Frederick could rise to slip the ring onto his finger, Reynold rushed forward, took the bouquet from him, and dropped to his knees on the rose petals, throwing his arms around Frederick’s neck and pulling him into a tight, tearful embrace.
Frederick laughed with relief and happiness, wrapping his arms around Reynold’s waist and holding him close as the camera crew captured the emotional moment.
After a long embrace, Frederick pulled back slightly and wiped the tears from Reynold’s cheeks with his thumbs. He took Reynold’s left hand and carefully slid the magnificent diamond ring onto his ring finger. It fit perfectly.
Reynold lifted his hand, staring at the sparkling diamond through his tears. Then he wrapped his arms around Frederick’s neck again and kissed him deeply, holding him close beneath the Parisian night sky.
Frederick wrapped his arms securely around Reynold’s waist, pulling him flush against his chest. As he held his fiancéclose, a rare tear slipped down his cheek.
"I brought the media team here tonight," Frederick whispered near Reynold’s ear, his voice thick with emotion. "I wanted them to capture this moment so that by tomorrow morning, the entire world would know I’m engaged to the love of my life. I love you, Reynold."
"I love you so much, Frederick," Reynold sobbed happily, burying his face in the crook of Frederick’s neck and pressing tender kisses against his skin.
Frederick smiled softly, his eyes taking on a familiar, possessive warmth. He leaned down, brushing his lips along the side of Reynold’s neck before whispering huskily, "Are you ready for a very long night, baby? Because I have no intention of going easy on you."
Reynold’s heart raced as he looked up into Frederick’s eyes, his tears giving way to a shy, excited smile.
"I’m so ready, Daddy," Reynold murmured, his lips curving into a sweet, seductive smile. "No holding back anymore. I’m all yours tonight."
Frederick let out a low, rumbling growl of satisfaction...
