Chapter 55: Will I Ever Be Your Type?
Chapter 55: Chapter 55: Will I Ever Be Your Type?
~Reynold’s POV~
I picked up my cup of tea from the side table and drank it quietly. The room fell silent again, the weight of everything left unsaid making the atmosphere between us feel heavier.
After a long moment, I finally broke the silence. "Mr. Corvin... I have a request."
He looked at me, his expression softening slightly. "Go ahead."
I took a slow breath, carefully choosing how to explain what I wanted. "I know you expect me to come here as soon as I’m done with my classes on Friday, but I’ve been thinking about my studies. I really need more time to focus on my assignments and prepare for my Monday classes."
I paused for a moment before continuing. "So, could you please have your driver pick me up at seven in the evening every Friday instead? And instead of taking me back on Monday morning, could he take me back to campus at seven on Sunday morning?"
I looked at him, waiting for his response, then quickly added, "I promise, from the moment I step into this bedroom, I’ll completely surrender to you and do whatever you want. We can spend all of Saturday having sex, but then on Sunday morning, your driver can take me back to campus. That way, I’ll have enough time to do my assignments and properly prepare for my Monday classes."
Frederick stared at me for a long, unreadable moment before speaking. "So... you want the driver to take you back to campus tomorrow?"
"Yes," I nodded, pushing down the ache in my chest. "We can do whatever you want right now. Let’s have sex. I’m not even tired. But tomorrow morning, your driver will take me back to campus."
Frederick kept his eyes locked on mine for a long moment before letting out a slow sigh. "Okay. But I don’t only need you for sex, Reynold. If you don’t want to come here every weekend, you can tell me. I’ll understand."
I quickly shook my head. "What about the contract? I’m not trying to break it. I just need more time to study."
"It’s fine. I was the one who made this arrangement in the first place," Frederick said calmly. "Your studies are important, too. I was the one who made the contract for you to come here every weekend, but if you don’t want to be here anymore, I’ll understand. I’m giving you the choice to leave. It’s fine if you don’t want to come here."
I looked at him, a bitter pang twisting in my gut.
I do want to come to you, my heart screamed. I really want to be with you.
But it hurt knowing that I could never be the person he truly wanted, the person who shared his history and still held such an important place in his heart. That person was Eva, not me.
I swallowed hard, gathering the courage to ask one last question.
"There’s... there’s one more thing I want to ask."
"Go ahead," he said softly.
"There’s someone I know who admires you so much. He really, really likes you, but he doesn’t understand what it takes to catch your eye." I hesitated before adding, "I mean, my best friend. He loves you, follows all your social media accounts, and reads every news article about you. So I just want to know... what should I tell him? Is it that you prefer someone famous and wealthy? Someone around your age?"
Frederick’s expression shifted, a faint look of amusement crossing his face. "Your friend?" he asked. "Which one of your friends?"
"He’s my best friend," I replied quickly. "I just want you to tell me what kind of person you like."
"So you care about your best friend that much that you’re asking me what I want?" Frederick asked, a curious look crossing his face.
"Yes," I said, nodding. "So, will you tell me?"
"Alright." He paused for a moment before answering. "I love the people I choose to keep close to me, Reynold. Especially when I genuinely care about them. I always want the people I care about to stay by my side."
I looked at him, a bitter thought crossing my mind.
He must still love Eva so much. Despite everything he had said about not wanting her back, he still cared about her and supported her. She was lucky, even if she didn’t realize it yet. With Eva’s status and their history together, he probably couldn’t truly move on from her. One day, he would accept her back.
Frederick watched my troubled expression for a moment before letting out a quiet sigh. Then he turned the question back on me. "What about you? What’s your type?"
I was genuinely surprised by the question, but I answered honestly.
"I want someone who loves me for who I am." I looked into his eyes and continued, "Even if I don’t fit their usual standards, I want them to love me and care about me anyway. And..." I hesitated before adding, "I tend to like older men. Even if they’re old enough to be my father, it doesn’t matter to me, as long as they truly love me."
Frederick stared at me intently, and a heavy silence settled between us. For a brief moment, my heart leaped. Maybe he had finally realized that I was describing him right in front of him.
But to my disappointment, he completely missed the hint.
"Focus on your studies for now instead of worrying about love, Reynold," Frederick said gently. "Maybe after you graduate and our contract ends, someone will come into your life. Who knows? By then, you might find yourself attracted to someone around your own age instead of someone old enough to be your father."
"My type won’t change," I whispered stubbornly.
Frederick shook his head, clearly not taking my words seriously. "Anyway, let me take you out tonight. I’m meeting up with my friends."
I nodded quietly. "Okay."
A sudden, desperate question slipped out before I could stop myself.
"Will I ever be your type? You said you love the people you choose to keep close to you, so... if I stay with you, will I ever be your type?"
Frederick chuckled softly and reached out to tap my chin.
"Finally. You asked the question you’ve wanted to ask me since we started this conversation." His eyes held mine, his voice growing lower and more serious. "Why do you think you’re here in my bedroom, Reynold? You’ve been wondering whether I’m only keeping you close for sex." He shook his head. "I can have anyone I want because of my status. So why would I keep you here if all I wanted was sex?"
He glanced at me with a hint of exasperation. "You really don’t know me at all."
I looked up at him, breathless and confused. "What do you mean?"
Frederick didn’t answer. He held my gaze for another moment before finally looking away.
"The deal still stands. You come here on Friday, and my driver will take you back to campus early every Monday."
I nodded numbly. "Okay."
He climbed onto the bed, leaned back against the pillows, and patted the space beside him. "Come here. Sleep on my chest."
Without another word, I set my teacup aside, moved across the mattress, and rested my head against his broad chest. Just as he had promised, Frederick wrapped his arms around me, his large, warm hand gently stroking my back.
"Focus on your studies first," he murmured softly into my hair. "If your choice remains the same after you graduate, then I hope your wish comes true, okay?"
I nodded against his chest and closed my eyes.
Frederick continued rubbing my back in slow, steady circles, the soothing motion gradually easing the tension in my body. Before long, exhaustion took over, and I fell fast asleep in his arms.
I slept for several hours before eventually waking up. My throat was still sore, so Frederick called the maid and asked her to bring me something warm and easy to swallow.
A few minutes later, the maid returned with a bowl of warm soup. She placed it carefully on the table and quietly left the room.
After I ate, we stayed indoors for the rest of the day, enjoying the quiet together until evening finally came and it was time to get ready to go out.
Frederick reached for the remote and lowered the volume of the TV playing in the room. Then he turned toward me.
"Time to get dressed, little pet. Go get ready."
We both got out of bed and began getting ready for the night. Frederick went into his walk-in closet and brought out a new set of clothes for both of us.
He slipped into a crisp white shirt with a relaxed open collar, paired with matching white trousers. The lightweight fabric fit his broad frame perfectly, giving him a clean, elegant look that somehow still carried his usual commanding presence.
For me, he had chosen a fitted black leather outfit. I slipped into the short-sleeved leather top and matching leather trousers, along with the black thong underneath and the layered silver chain accessories around my waist. The outfit hugged my figure, making me look sleek, bold, and effortlessly attractive.
When we finished getting dressed and stepped back into the room together, the contrast between us was striking. Frederick looked effortlessly handsome in white, while I looked dangerously attractive in black, the two of us looking completely different yet somehow perfectly matched.
Frederick picked up his cologne and sprayed it over himself before turning to me. He gave me a few sprays of the same cologne, making sure we both carried the same scent.
Once we were ready, we took the elevator down to the...
