The voice echoed through my mind again.

"Pa...pa..."A voice said.

I froze. Then the warmth in my lower belly suddenly intensified.

"Ah..." I instinctively pressed a hand against my stomach.

It felt impossibly hot now, making me shift beneath the blankets.

"Why is it getting hotter?"I groaned.

"Wei?"Lang Li immediately noticed.

"I am alright."I whispered.

I wasn’t entirely sure that was true. The strange warmth kept spreading through my lower abdomen, leaving me confused and uncomfortable. But that voice...

"Papa..." A voice said again.

"Who called me that?"I frowned.

"You heard it too?"Song Hue’s expression changed.

"You heard it?"I looked at him.

"No. I mean... your reaction."He shook his head.

That wasn’t an answer. I looked toward Isolda as she had gone completely still.

"Isolda?"I asked.

"What did you hear?"Her eyes widened slightly.

"A voice."I swallowed.

"What did it say?"She asked.

"It called me... Papa."I hesitated.

Suddenly, the system stopped flickering.

"DING. MEMORY FRAGMENT DETECTED. VOCAL SIGNATURE: UNIDENTIFIED."A system said.

"Classified?"I asked as I stared at the system. "That’s not helpful!"

The warmth pulsed again. I winced and curled slightly forward.

"Easy."Lang Li immediately steadied me.

"I am trying."I groaned. "It is getting too warm."

"I think that voice is part of your upcoming future."Isolda said.

Isolda’s words left me staring at her.

"Future?"I asked.

"Yes. I believe what you heard was nt a memory of your past."She nodded.

The warmth in my lower belly pulsed again.

"Then whose voice was it?"I swallowed.

Before Isolda could answer, the door opened. Mei Lin stepped inside carrying another tray of sweets.

"I brought more-" She stopped as everyone was staring at her. She blinked. "Why is everyone looking at me?"

"She thinks the voice I heard belongs to someone from my future."I pointed toward Isolda.

Mei Lin’s eyes widened, then she looked at me, then at my hand resting over my lower belly. Her expression suddenly became very strange.

"What?"I asked. "Mei Lin?"

"Okay... this might sound crazy."She slowly put the tray down.

"At this point, crazy is normal."I said and sighed.

She hesitated then she said calmly.

"Could the voice have called you ’Papa’?"She asked.

My face went blank.

"Yes." I nodded.

"Oh."Mei Lin’s eyes widened.

"What?"Song Hue frowned.

"That might have been your future pup."Mei Lin looked between everyone.

"My future... what?"I stared at her.

"Pup."She said happily.

"MEI LIN!"My face immediately turned beet red.

"I’m sorry!"She covered her mouth.

"You just said I have a future pup!"I said.

"I was only explaining!"She said.

Lang Li looked surprisingly thoughtful, Song Hue looked completely stunned, Isolda, however, remained calm.

"It is possible."She said.

"You’re agreeing with her?!"I stared at her in disbelief.

"The voice sounded young?"She nodded.

"Yes."I swallowed.

"And it called you Papa?"She asked.

"Yes."I nodded.

She gave a small nod.

"Then Mei Lin’s explanation is reasonable."Isolda said.

"This temple has officially become too strange."I covered my burning face.

"DING. FUTURE VOICE ANALYSIS: PROBABILITY OF YOUNG CHILD: 78%. TERM USED: "PAPA." FUTURE FAMILY CONNECTION: DETECTED. SYSTEM: HOST HAS POTENTIAL FUTURE PARENTAL STATUS."The system appeared.

"STOP!"I nearly fell backward into the pillows.

"Well... congratulations?"Mei Lin was now bright red herself.

"I AM NOT ACCEPTING CONGRATULATIONS!"I groaned.

Lang Li quietly laughed.

Song Hue looked at him.

"Why are you laughing?"He asked.

"Because Wei’s expression."Lang Li said.

"Don’t you dare."I glared at him.

He immediately stopped. Isolda looked toward the glowing system.

"The remaining question is whose child it was."She said.

The room went silent again.

"What?"I slowly lowered my hands.

"FUTURE PARENTAL DATA: CLASSIFIED. SECOND PARENT: UNKNOWN. IDENTITY LOCKED BY FUTURE EVENT."The system flickered.

I stared at the screen, then slowly looked at Lang Li, then Song Hue as both princes suddenly became very quiet.

"Oh, absolutely not."I groaned.

"This is going to be complicated."Mei Lin whispered.

"Why does my future apparently have a sense of humour?"I buried my face in the nearest pillow.

I was still hiding half my face behind the blanket when Mom looked at me with an expression that immediately made my stomach drop.

"Wei."She began.

"Yes?"I asked.

"There is something you should understand."She said.

"Why do you sound so serious?"I slowly lowered the blanket.

"Because you just heard a future child call you ’Papa.’"Mom sighed gently.

"I KNOW!"My face instantly heated.

Song Hue covered his mouth, clearly trying not to laugh. Lang Li looked away, but I could see the faintest smile.

"Don’t you dare."I glared at both of them.

"Then perhaps it is time you understand how pups are made in this world."Mom sat beside me.

"What?"I froze.

"An Alpha and an Omega can form a mating bond. During an Omega’s heat, their body becomes biologically prepared for conception. If the Alpha and Omega choose to mate during that period, the Alpha’s reproductive cells can fertilize the Omega’s egg."Mom calmly continued.

My brain stopped working.

"Mom!"My face went from warm to absolutely burning.

"What?"She blinked innocently.

"You can’t just explain that while they’re here!" I pointed desperately toward Lang Li and Song Hue.

"I can leave."Lang Li immediately cleared his throat.

"That might be wise."Song Hue nodded.

"YES!"I nodded quickly.

"They’re both adults, Wei. Understanding your own biology isn’t shameful."Mom smiled.

"It is when you’re explaining it to me while they’re sitting there!"I groaned

"Is Wei mom giving Wei the baby lesson?"Ana’s voice suddenly came from outside the door.

"ANA!"I gasped.

"I’M LEAVING!"Her footsteps immediately disappeared.

"After conception, the fertilized egg develops inside the Omega’s womb until the pup is born."Mom calmly continued.

"Please stop."I pulled the blanket completely over my head.

"Would you like me to explain more?"She asked.

"NO!"I gasped.

A pause.

"Are you sure?"She asked.

"ONE HUNDRED PERCENT!"I said quickly.

"HOST EMBARRASSMENT: 100% HOST TEMPERATURE: ELEVATED. SYSTEM RECOMMENDATION: HIDE UNDER BLANKET."The system appeared.

"Finally, something useful."I groaned.

"Very well. We will stop there."Mom laughed softly.

"Really?"I peeked out.

"Really."She said.

"But now you understand why hearing a future pup call you ’Papa’ could mean that someday you may have a family of your own."Then mom added calmly.

"I regret asking."My face immediately became red again.

Lang Li looked at me quietly, Song Hue did too, and somehow, that made my embarrassment ten times worse.

"SYSTEM WARNING: TWO PRINCES CURRENTLY PROCESSING FUTURE FAMILY POSSIBILITY."A system said.

"System."I said.

"Yes?"A system asked.

"Stop."I ordered.

"Understood, but they are still thinking about it."A system said.

"WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS?!"I gasped.

Mom’s expression softened, but I could tell she wasn’t finished explaining.

"There is one more thing you need to understand about your heat."She said.

"Why does that sentence sound terrifying?"I immediately became suspicious.

"For an ordinary Omega, heat eventually subsides on its own. It can take several days, and during that time the Omega usually needs rest, food, water, warmth, and somewhere safe."Isolda ignored my complaint.

"Okay. That sounds reasonable."I nodded cautiously.

"But there are two ways for the heat to end sooner."She said.

"Two?"I stiffened.

"The first is simply to wait it out. Your body eventually settles, and the heat passes naturally."Mom nodded.

"Good. Waiting. I like waiting."I visibly relaxed.

"The second..." She paused. "Is the completion of a genuine mating bond."

"Mom!"My entire face turned red.

Lang Li immediately looked toward the wall, Song Hue suddenly became extremely interested in the floor.

"A completed bond can cause the heat to settle because the Omega’s body recognizes the bond as fulfilled. But that is not something anyone should rush into merely because a heat is uncomfortable."Mom continued calmly, apparently immune to my embarrassment.

My expression became serious despite my embarrassment.

"So... I can just wait?"I asked.

"Yes."She said.

That answer immediately relieved me.

"You don’t have to mate with anyone simply to make the heat stop," Mom said firmly. "A bond should only happen when both people genuinely want it and understand what it means."

"Then I’m waiting."I pulled the blanket closer around myself.

"HOST HAS CHOSEN THE ’WAIT IT OUT’ OPTION."A system said.

"Exactly."I nodded.

"Sensible."A system said.

"Did the System just call me sensible?"I blinked.

"Do not become arrogant."A system said.

"Never mind."I said.

"The important thing is that you are safe and comfortable. We can help you through the heat without forcing you into anything."Mom smiled.

"I’ll make sure you’re comfortable."Lang Li finally looked back at me.

"So will I."Song Hue nodded.

I stared at both of them and then my face heated all over again.

"Why do you two have to say it like that?!"I asked.

"Because they’re competing!"Ana’s voice came from the hallway.

"Ana!"I gasped.

She immediately ran away laughing.

"Your future family is very loud."Mom smiled.

"I noticed."I sank beneath the blanket.
