I thought married life would be peaceful. Apparently, the universe found that hilarious, that morning, I was sitting at the breakfast table with Lang Li, Ana, Hin, Mom, Father, Mei Lin, and Han Jin when the smell of roasted meat suddenly reached me. My stomach turned. I froze.

"..."I started at it.

Lang Li immediately noticed.

"Wei?"He asked.

"I am fine."I said.

I tried to take another bite. The moment the food touched my tongue, my stomach lurched violently.

"I do not think I want this."I pushed the plate away.

"You? Refusing food?"Ana blinked.

"I know. Strange."I said.

"I am just going to get some fresh air."I stood.

I took two steps then stopped.

"Oh, no."My hand flew over my mouth.

I hurried out of the dining hall.

"Wei!" Lang Li immediately followed.

I barely reached the washroom before I bent over the basin.

"Ugh-" I threw up.

"Are you all right?"Lang Li stopped outside the doorway.

I couldn’t answer immediately. Another wave hit, when it finally passed, I rinsed my mouth and leaned against the wall.

"I... think I’m okay."I groaned.

Lang Li came closer, concern written all over his face.

"You don’t look okay."He said.

"I’m fine."I sighed.

Then my stomach twisted again as I covered my mouth.

"Maybe I’m not."I groaned.

"Should I call the healer?"He gently supported my shoulders.

"Please."I nodded weakly.

Within minutes, the entire family somehow knew.

"What happened?!"Ana appeared first.

"I threw up."I said.

Her eyes widened. Hin appeared behind her.

"Are you sick?"She asked.

"I don’t know."I said.

Mom arrived with father. Mom immediately looked concerned.

"How long have you felt unwell?"She asked.

"Only this morning."I said.

She looked toward the untouched breakfast.

"Anything smell strange?"She asked.

"Everything smelled normal."I shook my head. "Except the meat."

Ana glanced at Hin, Hin glanced at Ana.

"Why are you two looking at each other?"I narrowed my eyes.

"No reason." Ana said quickly.

"That was suspicious."I said.

Mei Lin entered with Han Jin.

"What happened?"She asked.

"I threw up."I said.

"Oh."Mei Lin’s expression changed.

"Why did you say ’oh’ like that?"I stared at her.

"I didn’t."She immediately looked away.

"You absolutely did." The healer finally arrived.

She examined me carefully, checking my pulse and asking several questions, after a moment, she became thoughtful.

"Have you experienced unusual fatigue recently?"Mom asked.

"Maybe."I blinked.

"Changes in appetite?"She asked.

"I’ve been craving sweets."I said.

Ana’s eyes widened.

"Don’t."I pointed at her.

"Heightened sensitivity to smells?"The healer continued.

"Yes."I slowly nodded.

Lang Li’s expression became serious. The healer looked at him, then at me.

"I would like to perform one more examination."

"Why?"My stomach suddenly dropped.

"Because these symptoms can have several causes."She hesitated.

She placed a hand gently over my abdomen.

"UNUSUAL BIOLOGICAL CHANGE DETECTED."The system suddenly appeared.

"System?"I froze.

"ANALYSIS IN PROGRESS."A system said.

Lang Li immediately looked at me.

"What is it?"He asked.

"I don’t know."I swallowed.

"POSSIBLE PREGNANCY INDICATORS DETECTED."The system flickered.

"What?"I stared into nothing.

Ana’s mouth dropped open, Hin’s eyes widened, mom went completely still, father slowly turned toward Lang Li.

"Well..."Mei Lin whispered.

"Don’t say it."I looked at her.

She immediately shut her mouth, Lang Li stared at me, stunned. The healer’s eyes widened slightly.

"Prince Wei..."She began.

"Yes?"I swallowed.

"We should confirm before drawing any conclusions."She said.

I nodded slowly. But my hand had already drifted unconsciously toward my stomach.

"You are telling me there’s a possibility?"My face became bright red.

"SYSTEM: CONFIRMATION REQUIRED."The system flickered again.

"Oh, this is going to be a very long day."I stared at the message.

The healer finished the examination and looked at me with a gentle smile.

"Prince Wei... the test is positive."A healer said.

"Positive?"I froze.

"You are pregnant."She nodded.

My eyes widened as I slowly looked toward Lang Li.

He was completely stunned, Ana covered her mouth, Hin stared at me, mom’s eyes immediately filled with tears. Father looked like someone had just handed him the greatest news of his life.

"PREGNANCY CONFIRMED. FUTURE PUP DETECTED."The system appeared.

"So that voice really was our future pup."I touched my stomach, my face turning bright red.

"Our pup."Lang Li gently took my hand.

I looked at him and despite my embarrassment, I smiled. The news spread through the castle within minutes. Everyone was excited. Mom cried, father immediately started planning for his grandson, Ana bought far too many tiny clothes, Hin insisted on being the best aunt. Mei Lin kept teasing me about becoming a father, even Song Hue congratulated me sincerely, while Jan Win smiled beside him, and Lang Li he became even more protective than before. Every appointment, every meal, every restless night he was there.

The morning pup that appeared in our lives had started normally. I was having breakfast when I suddenly stopped.

"Wait."I gasped.

"What?"Lang Li looked up immediately.

"I feel... strange."I placed a hand over my stomach.

Another tightening came.

"That wasn’t normal."I frowned.

"How far apart?"Mom immediately became attentive.

"I don’t know."I groaned.

A few minutes later, it happened again, I stared at everyone.

"I think our pup is ready."I gasped.

"Already?!"Ana’s eyes widened.

"I think so." Another wave came, and I grabbed Lang Li’s hand. "Okay..."

"Stay calm. I am here."He immediately stood.

"I know."I took a shaky breath.

Mom calmly gave instructions while the servants prepared everything. The castle suddenly became extremely busy, and me? I could only sit there, holding Lang Li’s hand and thinking one thing.

After a few months, the castle was filled with nervous excitement. After hours of waiting, I finally heard a tiny cry.

"Congratulations. It’s a boy."A healer smiled.

"Our pup..."I stared in disbelief.

Lang Li stood beside me, completely overwhelmed. The healer carefully placed our tiny son in my arms. He had a tiny tuft of silver hair and golden eyes that were barely open.

"He is so small..."My eyes immediately filled with tears.

"Our son."Lang Li gently touched his tiny hand.

The baby curled his fingers around his father’s.

I froze, then the tiny baby made a sleepy little sound.

"Pa..."A baby made a noise.

My face turned red, I stared at Lang Li.

"He said it."I whispered.

"He remembers you."Lang Li smiled.

I hugged our little pup closer, and suddenly, everything made sense. The mysterious voice from the temple, the future memory. The word ’Papa’. It had been him all along our little boy.

"I love you Lang Li."I said sweetly.

"I love you more."Lang Li said and kissed my cheek.

At this moment, I knew that it was start of our happy life.
