Chapter 432: Grinder's Day
"Newspaper!" a newspaper boy shouted, walking down the morning streets. "A new edition!"
He took newspapers from his bag and tossed them to the front door of the guild buildings. Some people walking by picked them up with interest.
[Grinder's Day tomorrow!]
It was a big headline. The players knew what it meant. It was a very important day, and most have been waiting for it eagerly.
The door of the Rose Records opened. Rock stood by the front door. He looked down at the newspaper by his foot.
He picked it up and saw the headline.
"Grinder's Day… It has come again."
Rock said, and then he walked back inside and then slammed the door shut and saw the whole guild waking up.
It was only seven in the morning, but they had a long day ahead of them, and they needed to be prepared.
They have been preparing for the boss raid for a good while now. With Fang Raon finally here, they could finally attempt it.
The boss raids from the 50th floor onwards would have an insane rise in difficulty. The 49th floor paled in comparison.
They couldn't even be compared!
"What did the news bring, Rock?" Miranda walked down the steps. "Is it about tomorrow's event?"
"Yes," Rock showed the newspaper to her. "Grinder's Day."
Miranda read through the newspaper.
"Grinder's Day is an annual event… where players from all around the world gather for one day… for a competition to see which guild can kill the most monsters in a span of one day…"
"It's good that Raon came in time," Rock said. "Maybe Rose Records can break into top ten this year. It would be good."

Knock! Knock!
Graham knocked on the door. He then stood there. Waiting for the magical words of "You may enter" to echo through the door.
"Come in."
A voice came from inside, and Graham turned on the doorknob and entered the room and saw Xiao Yue sitting behind her desk.
She looked as cold as ice. Eyes looked dark like she hadn't been sleeping well. She did not look like an approachable girl.
Yet, her beauty couldn't be diminished just with lack of sleep. It was like she didn't even need to maintain her health to look pretty.
"We are ready to head out," Graham said. "For the 50th floor."
"…Okay," Xiao Yue said coldly. "I'll join all of you in a bit."
Graham nodded. Then he turned on his heel and walked out of the room. Once outside, his brows creased in confusion.
He didn't know what was the cause of her shitty mood this time around. It really looked like she wasn't having a good day.
"Hey, Graham…" then a voice came behind him, and he turned around to see Xiao Yue staring at him through the doorway. "I'd appreciate if you didn't spy on me for my father."
"…" Graham looked surprised, and then he nodded. "My apologies."
Xiao Yue scoffed. She then slammed the door shut and disappeared back inside.
'She is angry at me.' Graham scratched the back of his head. 'In the end, I work for your father. Not for you.'
He told King Rorazon about Xiao Yue's strange behavior towards that kid from Rose Records.
It was something he needed to tell him about because he really cared about the well-being of his daughter.
…
White-cloaked players walked down the street on the 50th floor. They attracted quite a bit of attention. Everybody realized who they were.
At the chest of their cloaks, there was a symbol of letter A surrounded by a pair of angel wings. It was a famous symbol all around the tower.
Anna's Angels!
In that moment, Fang Anna stopped by a door. It was the door of the Rose Records building. She gave the door a hard knock.
A moment later, the door was opened by the mute receptionist, who looked at her curiously.
"Is my brother here?" Anna asked with a smile. "His name is Fang Raon."
The mute receptionist shook her head. She signaled with her hands. It looked like she tried to say that he hadn't logged in just yet.
"Can I wait for him inside?" Anna asked. "Please?"
The mute receptionist didn't respond. She usually wasn't allowed to let anybody inside this early in the morning.
They weren't officially open yet.
"Let them in, Chloe," Waylen said from the top of the stairs. "They aren't here to start a fight, or am I wrong?"
Chloe nodded and let them in.
Anna and a couple of friends of hers sat down over at the lounge. They looked around the place, looking nonchalant.
'Our place is better…' some of them thought.
"It's nice," Anna said with a smile. "When does my brother log in?"
"I don't know. I don't really know him that well. It's a busy day, though, so I am sure he will come soon. Do the three of you want a cup of tea?"
Waylen asked.
He was going to head to the kitchen either way to make some for himself, so might as well make some for them as well.
"Sure."
Anna said.
…
Fang Raon opened his eyes. He appeared in the roof courtyard. It was the place where he logged off last night.
'Last night, right…' he thought about it. 'After the chess match with Miranda, I came here to try out the Pillar of Oppression but failed again.'
It did look like his only choice to learn it was to visit the Second Circle of Hell, but he really didn't want to go there.
'Does only the demons know about it?' He wondered. 'Or could there also be other people that know about them?'
He then left the roof courtyard, and as he walked down the hallway, he sensed a familiar presence over at the lounge.
He reached the railing. Then he looked down towards the lounge. There he saw his little sister, drinking a cup of tea.
"Hmm?" Anna felt his gaze and looked up, and a smile blossomed into her face. "Brother!"
Nick Ace and Barach also looked over. They sensed something different about Raon. He was much stronger than the last time they met.
"Anna…" Fang Raon walked down the stairs. "Why are you here?"
"I am here for the Grinder's Day." Anna stood up with a smile, and she then ran to him and gave him a tight hug. "And I came to see my favorite brother!"
"Grinder's Day?" Fang Raon's eyebrow jumped. "What's that?"
"Of course you don't know what that is…"
Anna massaged her temples, and then with a smile, she explained.
"It is a one-day event where all the top guilds of the tower gather on the 50th floor. We will all head down to the Monster Backyard, and the guild that kills the most monsters during that time are the winners!"
"Monster Backyard?"
Fang Raon had never heard about that place.
"It's a place over here. A dangerous, haphazard land filled with all sorts of monsters and creatures. It's great hunting ground."
Anna said.
It was a place where most top players went to hunt down some monsters for money and if they wanted to increase their level percentage.
"We are also participating in that, Raon," then Rock walked over. "Each guild can send only ten players to participate. Rose Records is sending our First-Liners."
First-liners of Rose Records consisted of: Della Rose, Rock Rose, Waylen Lock, Miranda Armada, Jax Hugo, Hank Bass, Adam Thorn, Dogger Hunt, Machary, and Fang Raon.
It was a very formidable squad!
"It is starting tomorrow," Anna said and tapped him in the chest. "We will be competitors. If I see you in the battlefield, I won't go easy on you."
"…Bet."
Fang Raon smiled with a glint in his eye.
He had always wanted to see how his strength fares against Anna and other siblings of his, so it was good to finally have the chance to test himself against them.
"I only came to see you, brother," Anna waved her hand and headed off. "It's nice to see you doing well. Thanks for the Virtual Reality Pod Xs!"
She then left with Nick and Barach.
Then, Rock punched Fang Raon at the back of the head. His head snapped forward. He touched his head with a stunned look.
"What the fuck?" He looked at Rock with a surprise. "Why the hell did you do that, you old fart?"
"Shut up, you womanizer," Rock gritted his teeth. "One woman wasn't enough, huh? You had to have two, huh?"
"They chose that…" Fang Raon scratched the back of his head. "It wasn't my intention."
He then thought about Xiao Yue. Then he thought that maybe he shouldn't mention the fact that it might be three women soon.
However, he wasn't sure yet how it goes with her. It was a little hard to tell what she was thinking. It did look like she might like him.
"Do you have Virtual Reality Pod X?" Rock asked. "You need to keep my granddaughter safe. Because of that lunatic Izan, the world will become a far more dangerous place now.
"I got one," Fang Raon said. "I also got one for her. I am sure that she can protect herself very well, but I won't let anything happen to her."
"Mm…"
Rock nodded, but then he punched with his right, and the fist landed at Fang Raon's face. He dropped to the ground.
"You…" Fang Raon rubbed his cheek. "You almost broke my teeth…"
"I'll punch you whenever I feel like it from now on."
Rock grinned and cracked his knuckles.
